Modern medicine focuses on surgical treatment. It is easy to recur after operation. Xiaojin Pill with natural musk is a oral traditional Chinese medicine and plays a role in benign breast diseases. There are very few reports on the use of Xiaojin Pill with natural musk in treating plasma cell mastitis yet. Cases: This paper reports 3 cases of plasma cell mastitis who received Xiaojin Pill with natural musk treatment. Patients were successfully treated after accepting Xiaojin Pill with natural musk for several weeks.","PeriodicalId":93106,"journal":{"name":"International journal of cancer research & therapy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48099918","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These tumors are associated with significant morbidity and mortality, primarily from their anatomic proximity to many critical neurological and vascular structures. This study aimed to summarize the clinical experiences and postoperative effects of the transcallosal approach for craniopharyngiomas. Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 14 consecutive patients with craniopharyngioma who underwent surgical resection via anterior transcallosal route at the department of Neurosurgery of Cherchell Hospital between January 2015 and June 2020. All patients had thorough preoperative and postoperative ophthalmological and endocrine evaluations. The follow-up period ranged from 10 to 36 months. Results: Gross total resection was achieved in eight patients (57%) in this series. Six patients (43%) with preoperative visual impairment experienced significant visual improvement. The overall recurrence rate was 36%. Conclusion: The interhemispheric transcallosal approach can be used alone for purely intraventricular craniopharyngiomas, or they can be used in combination with other anterolateral and midline transcranial approaches to respect the intra and extra ventricular portions of the tumor.","PeriodicalId":93106,"journal":{"name":"International journal of cancer research & therapy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44294863","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since times past there has been medical concern about malnutrition in cancer patients, but it is undoubtedly since notable progress has been made about therapeutic options for cancer that nutritional aspects have taken on special importance. This is since when more aggressive therapeutic strategies are applied, there is less tolerance to these treatments and greater morbidity from them, in patients with deterioration of their nutritional status. At present, recent advances in the field of neurobiology have shed light on the participation of neurotransmitters in the mechanisms of anorexia. On the other hand, malnutrition in carriers of neoplasms is closely linked to the negative impact of economic variables, quality of life and survival. De Wys et al., more than 2 decades ago, were among the first to draw attention to this issue, reporting that more than 50% of the 3,000 patients included in the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group had marked weight loss. Other studies, such as those by Shils et al., show different degrees of nutritional compromise in patients undergoing major surgery for cancer.","PeriodicalId":93106,"journal":{"name":"International journal of cancer research & therapy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48689863","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Whilst most patients present with locally advanced or metastatic disease, a minority are candidates for curative-intent resection. This review covers the aspects of PDAC which are relevant to the surgeon. Firstly, an up-to-date overview of epidemiology, risk factors and pathogenesis are provided. Secondly, presentation, diagnosis and staging are covered, including a summary of the most recent staging guidelines. The review will then focus on the historical background of the pancreatico-duodenectomy (PD), the modern procedure and post-operative care. Finally, short sections provide the reader with an update on histological staging and adjuvant treatment.","PeriodicalId":93106,"journal":{"name":"International journal of cancer research & therapy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43691657","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The thickening of these bones leads to pain, a waddling gait, muscle weakness, and extreme fatigue. Increased density of the skull can cause a variety of neurological deficits such as headaches, hearing loss, vision problems, dizziness (vertigo), ringing in the ears (tinnitus), and even facial paralysis. The first symptoms of the condition can appear at varying ages, but usually during childhood, with pain and proximal muscle weakness developing by adolescence. CED is often diagnosed based on a physical exam and radiographic findings (X-rays). CED is inherited in an autosomal dominant manner and is caused by changes (mutations) in the TGFB1 gene.","PeriodicalId":93106,"journal":{"name":"International journal of cancer research & therapy","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43483375","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: The RNAseq data of lung adenocarcinoma tissues and normal lung tissues in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) project were obtained from the UCSC Xena. The correlation between S100A10 expression and clinic pathological features in patients with lung adenocarcinoma was analyzed. The Metascape database was used for Gene Ontology (GO) enrichment analysis of S100A10-related genes. Another 32 pairs of lung adenocarcinoma and matched lung tissues were selected to verify the expression of S100A10 protein by immunohistochemistry. Results: The expression of S100A10 in lung adenocarcinoma tissues was significantly higher than that in normal lung tissues on RNA (P<0.001) and protein (P=0.009) levels, and the RNA expression level in lung adenocarcinoma tissues was significantly correlated with tumor stage (P=0.004), lymph node metastasis (P=0.0002), overall survival (P=0.002) and disease-free survival (P=0.011). GO enrichment analysis showed that S100A10 related genes were significantly enriched in terms of cell adhesion, suggesting that S100A10 may be mainly involved in the process of cell adhesion in lung adenocarcinoma. Conclusion S100A10 is highly expressed in lung adenocarcinoma and is significantly correlated with some clinic pathological features, overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) by Kaplan–Meier (K–M) analysis, indicating a potential biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis for lung adenocarcinoma.","PeriodicalId":93106,"journal":{"name":"International journal of cancer research & therapy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47907439","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This condition has a dismal prognosis. Patients with early disease may be candidates for pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD). This is a high-risk operation which is associated with considerable morbidity. Whilst perioperative mortality rates have fallen in recent times, the risk remains significant and long-term survival is poor, even in those who make an uncomplicated recovery. Furthermore, PD is known to affect quality of life (QoL) negatively. Most studies suggest it takes up to six months before a patient’s QoL returns to baseline. This is a considerable amount of time for a patient who is unlikely to achieve long-term survival. This short review discusses the recent literature surrounding mortality rates, long-term survival and QoL following PD for PDAC. A comprehensive understanding of these topics will allow clinicians and patients to consider the risks and benefits before surgical resection is considered.","PeriodicalId":93106,"journal":{"name":"International journal of cancer research & therapy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45035925","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After the detection of magnetic photons in homeopathic remedies by Lenger homeopathy can be seen as an energetic medicine. According to Lenger‘s biochemical and biophysical model of homeopathy 15 patients having cancer in the endocrine system, lymph nodes and relapses were treated.They all reported a hypofunction of the thyroid at the beginning of their illness. To achieve a normally working thyroid, all patients got an unusual mixture of 50µg potassium jodide, 55mg calcium and the corresponding highly potentised homeopathic remedies in 50M as Iodium, Calcium-salts for the incorporation and regulation of calcium and iodium. The additional therapy consisted of the highly potentised gland, its specific hormone and potentised substrates of the fatty acid metabolism. After getting the unusual thyroid-mixture the woman with tongue cancer was healed completely.The nodes in the breast of 5 women vanished completely after application of 50M of Prolactin, Glandula pituitaria; for the remove of the precipitated prolactin Urea pura, Uricum acidum, Picricum acidum, Nitricum acidum. Highly potentised steroidhormones were given to a woman with relapses in the lung having had breast cancer, ovarian and uterine carcinoma, to the woman with lymphnode disease and fatty tissue in the abdomen and to the men with high PSA values in combination with high potencies of the substrates of the fatty acid metabolism. The woman improved for three years. The PSA-values of the men became normal. Both women with severe cancer and metastases in the bones lived more than 6 years in contrast to the doctors‘ prediction that they have only 2-4 months to live. Lenger’s unusual homeopathic therapy consisting of substances and high homeopathic remedies of the ill endocrine glands was able to improve successfully the cancer of the endocrine system.","PeriodicalId":93106,"journal":{"name":"International journal of cancer research & therapy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45561025","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
