With takaful, Muslims are protected from any ambiguous activities or transactions that are not aligned with shariah. However, participation in takaful reveals that only affluent individuals have the means to protect themselves against risks, whereas the impoverished, particularly the B40, cannot do so. The B40 refers to a specific socio-economic group in a given population in the lower-income category with an annual income below RM 4,850. No other takaful and insurance business has demonstrated a willingness to provide a system specifically designed to safeguard the B40, as observed. They have been excluded from any form of protection. Consequently, the question arose: do they possess a favorable outlook for Takaful? Hence, the SWOT analysis was employed to assess the competitiveness of the B40 market. Eleven takaful operator agency participants were randomly selected for semi-structured interviews. All the answers will be tabulated from these interviews according to the SWOT categories. This study aims to analyze the B40 market for takaful goods, identify the obstacles takaful operators face, and propose ways to increase the takaful penetration rate, focusing on the family takaful product.","PeriodicalId":92980,"journal":{"name":"Advances in social sciences research journal","volume":"10 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140078104","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Malaysia is one of the examples of a country that has experienced double the amount of textile waste entering landfills every year. The resolution of this challenge hinges on the effective management of the recycling process by key stakeholders, including consumers, waste collectors, and manufacturers. Collaborative efforts in optimizing the recycling chain not only address this issue but also contribute to the advancement of sustainable practices, fostering the production of new goods and promoting the principles of the circular economy (CE).This process not only reduces new raw materials (e.g., cotton) but also reduces textile waste so that the industry is more sustainable. Therefore, this study aims to discover the barriers and challenges of managing textile waste in a circular economic environment in Malaysia. This study employed the scoping review technique to understand the concept and global issue of textile waste. This study also interviewed key informants from the industry who are involved in this business process, such as textile collectors and waste manufacturers. An attempt is made to address the challenges through a conceptual model on CE and Sustainable Consumption and Pattern (SCP) targeting material waste in the textile industry. This study is aligned with the Malaysian Twelfth Malaysia Plan (12MP), covering three development dimensions: economic empowerment, environmental sustainability, and social reengineering. Thus, investigating the waste issue specifically for textile materials in the CE is crucial.","PeriodicalId":92980,"journal":{"name":"Advances in social sciences research journal","volume":"136 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140078582","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The data was obtained from World Bank Data and analyzed using EViews software. The time series data was conducted using the Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) test. The Auto-Regressive Distributive Lag (ARDL) approach to cointegration was then employed to determine the short- and long-term analysis of the series. The ARDL bound test analysis indicates that there is a cointegration relationship between macroeconomic factors and youth unemployment. The results suggest that economic growth, inflation, and population have a negative and significant impact on youth unemployment, while foreign direct investment has a positive but insignificant effect on youth unemployment in the long term. Upon analyzing the short-term outcome, it was observed that all factors exhibited a negative correlation and exerted a substantial impact on youth unemployment’s rate.","PeriodicalId":92980,"journal":{"name":"Advances in social sciences research journal","volume":"5 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140261051","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A well-educated and skilled human capital resulted in being more productive, innovative, and adaptable to economic changes. This, in turn, contributes to higher economic growth. However, insufficient government spending on education poses a significant challenge, hindering human capital development essential for economic growth. Thus, the purpose of this study is to examine the role of government spending in education (TEDU) on economic growth (GDP) in Malaysia from 1990 to 2020 using Ordinary Least Square (OLS) estimation methods. Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and total unemployment (UNEMP) are also included in the study as control variables. The result showed that TEDU and FDI are positively cointegrated with GDP, while UNEMP is negatively cointegrated with GDP. Findings show that government expenditure on education acts as a strategic investment that can extensively impact economic growth by promoting human capital development, enhancing productivity, and establishing a more inclusive and competitive economy. Policymakers should prioritize sustained investment in education for long-term economic development and global competitiveness.","PeriodicalId":92980,"journal":{"name":"Advances in social sciences research journal","volume":"32 s1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140261844","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Previous research reported a significant relationship between transformational leadership and employee creativity; however, the mechanism of this relationship is still unfolding, and the mediatory role of these variables is largely unexplored. Thus, this study aims to examine the mediating effect of psychological empowerment between transformational leadership and employee creativity within Malaysia's customer service industry due to its crucial role in meeting changing demands through excellent service in a socio-cultural context. A total of 429 responses were collected through questionnaires consist of four main parts including demographic information, transformational leadership, employee creativity and psychological empowerment. The data were analysed using measurement and structural models through smart-PLS using structural equation modelling with bootstrapping. The findings revealed that transformational leadership does not have a significant positive relationship with employee creativity. Meanwhile, the result demonstrates that there is a significant relationship between transformational leadership and psychological empowerment as well as between psychological empowerment and employee creativity. Interestingly, the findings revealed that psychological empowerment mediates the relationship between transformational leadership and employee creativity. This study contributes to the theoretical perspective in terms of the mediating role of psychological empowerment in the relationship between transformational leadership and employee creativity. As for the practical implications, this study provides empirical evidence for the organisation to design interventions that enhance creativity by empowering psychology among the employees.","PeriodicalId":92980,"journal":{"name":"Advances in social sciences research journal","volume":"4 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140261929","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
