Various of educational interventions aimed at increasing knowledge and positive attitudes towards vaccination are already in use. We aim to measure HPV vaccination awareness and attitudes among participants in Puerto Rico after being exposed to seeing the fotonovela. Methods: We administered an online pre and post-exposure survey after seeing the fotonovela. The questionnaire included demographic information, perceived susceptibility to HPV, perceived benefit of vaccination in a committed relationship, intention to vaccinate, intention to encourage others to vaccinate, and attitudes towards the fotonovela booklet. Results: Participants (210) between ages 18-45 years responded to the questionnaire. The surveys showed an increase in the number of individuals who believed they were susceptible to HPV, had an intent to vaccinate, even if they were in a relationship, and encouraged others to vaccinate after seeing the fotonovela. Overall, the use of the fotonovela had favorable educational outcomes since participants could relate to the characters and responded that they had learned a lot from this intervention. Conclusion: Our findings demonstrated that the use of fotonovela booklets is a valuable tool for educating about the HPV vaccine effectively and entertainingly to Hispanic communities.","PeriodicalId":92765,"journal":{"name":"Clinics in mother and child health","volume":"18 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69967055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Design: The study was carried out in the scenario of a public hospital of a reference university maternity hospital in Senegal, a private clinic, anda lab practice. The compilation of data for the automatic calculation of performance indicators and its transcription to a standard in electronic form was carried out by specialists in Gynecology- Obstetrics, Biologists, and Computer Scientists. Results: E-ART software is structured around several hierarchical tables allowing users to register and store all relevant patients’ information. E-ART structures the patient’s data to provide a clear overview of their medical history and users’ activity performance. E-ART makes medical users’ life so much easier. Users can generate and send letters, prescriptions quickly and efficiently using the customized templates which they can modify or create. In addition to these capabilities, all of the features expected in an Assisted Reproductive technology EHR are handled by E-ART, such as ovarian stimulation monitoring, blood test measurements, egg retrieval, embryo culture, embryo transfer and so much more. E-ART makes it possible to manage all stages from ovarian stimulation to embryo transfer. The EART software also allows to generating reports and statistics according to customized templates and those of ANARA. Conclusion: The computerization of medical records has become a necessity today. An area as sensitive as the management of infertility and ART techniques cannot escape to it. Crossing the line to Electronic medical records could help assess practices in order to improve them.","PeriodicalId":92765,"journal":{"name":"Clinics in mother and child health","volume":"18 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69966622","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it is associated with excessive uterine bleeding, that might cause iron deficiency anaemia, making CIUD use inconvenient for many women especially those with severe menstruation. Objective: The objective of our study was to evaluate the correlation between abnormal uterine bleeding in IUD with endometrial sampling. Methods: Study included 120 women from the obstetrics and gynaecology departments of Zagazig University Hospitals, divided into three groups: Group I included 40 women who used intrauterine coipper (TCu-380A) and complained of menorrhagia or menometrorrhagia. Group II included 40 womenusing CIUD and not complaining of abnormal uterine bleeding. Group III included 40 women complaining of vaginal discharge or requesting CIUD insertion, and not complaining of abnormal uterine bleeding as a control group. Results: PI and RI were significantly lower in IUD-induced irregular bleeding than in IUD-induced women who did not complain of abnormal vaginal bleeding. Conclusion: Endometrial biopsy has no role in predicting the abnormal uterine bleeding cause. Transvaginal ultrasonography findings can be efficiently used to classify women at risk of experiencing excessive uterine bleeding following CIUD insertion and to make a preliminary diagnosis, thus, notify the pathologists.","PeriodicalId":92765,"journal":{"name":"Clinics in mother and child health","volume":"102 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69966874","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the summer 2020, before vaccines were available, we examined data from Department of Health websites in the six states, that had experienced a surge of cases, to assess prevalence of COVID-19 s, in adolescents and youth as compared to older adults. We also looked at two other measures related to prevalence: 1) the relation to expected cases, the (percentage of cases observed in a given age group divided by percentage of cases expected based on population demographics); and 2) the percentage deviation, or (% observed—% expected)/ % expected. We found that prevalence of COVID-19 for adolescents and for youth was significantly greater than for older adults (p<.00001), as was percentage observed ÷ percentage expected (p<.005). The percentage deviation was also significantly greater in adolescents/youth than in older adults (p<0.00001) when there was an excess of observed cases over what was expected, and significantly less when observed cases were fewer than expected (p<0.00001). Our results are contrary to previous findings that adolescents are less susceptible than older adults. Since vaccines were not yet available at the time period of our study, vaccination of older adults was not a contributing factor.","PeriodicalId":92765,"journal":{"name":"Clinics in mother and child health","volume":"18 1","pages":"1-2"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69967038","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
