The above intent shoot from assessing whether there are a significant affiliation and impact from devaluation to economic development proxied by (GDP). Which therefore forms the central argument of the study. The study by means of Classical Linear Regression Model (CLRM) adopts secondary data from 2000 to 2015. The Ordinary Least Square technique signifies the prime technique in relation to an array of other universal/ customary and analytical test. The R2 explains that 92% of the variation in GDP in the model study is explained by the principal regressors. Exchange and the inflation rate were sustained to have a positive and significant affiliation with GDP while, external debt, and public investment was negative and non-significant. The study established that devaluation is not peculiarly Nigerian. The results bare that devaluation does more harm than good within the Nigerian context since the needed prerequisite to ensure gains from devaluation are not present in the system.","PeriodicalId":92484,"journal":{"name":"Business and economics journal","volume":"9 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.4172/2151-6219.1000343","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41979012","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The descriptive survey research design was adopted while the simple random sampling technique was used to draw 120 sample respondents. Questionnaire rated on a 6-point Likert scale, was the main instrument for data collection, 120 copies of questionnaire. The descriptive statistical techniques of Percentiles and Pearson Correlation were used for data analysis with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software for editing and encoding. The result reveals that there is a weak negative relationship between executive-unconscious and job satisfaction among employees of the selected parastatals in the state (R=-0.193, p<0.05). The study recommends that it is imperative for executives to examine themselves and be self-aware of their unconscious biases so they can consciously work on them.","PeriodicalId":92484,"journal":{"name":"Business and economics journal","volume":"9 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.4172/2151-6219.1000342","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49249746","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The core objective of the study was to examine the effect of strategic product development practices on competiveness of Kenyan Tea in the global market. The study used cross-sectional survey design. The target population comprised of all 189 members of the East Africa Tea Trade Association (EATTA) who participate in the tea auction at Mombasa. Stratified sampling technique was used to select the study sample. Purposive sampling technique was used to select the managers who represented both the small-scale and large-scale producers. The sample was obtained using Slovin’s formula (1960); n=N/(1+Ne2). Structured and unstructured questionnaire was used to collect primary data. Pilot study tested for the validity and reliability. Cronbach’s Coefficient Alpha (α) was used to determine internal consistency. Collected data was analysed using SPSS to generate descriptive and inferential statistics. Pearson correlation coefficient (r) was derived while coefficient of determination (R2) was used to measure the amount of variation of the variables. The study findings indicated weak positive relationship of 31.0% between Strategic Product Development practices and Competitiveness. The study revealed that 1% change in Strategic product development practices decreased competitiveness of Kenyan in the global market by 0.089 units. Hence the conclusion that competitiveness of Kenyan Tea in the global market was influenced by other factors other than strategic product development Practices. The study recommended that other than strategic product development practices, the Kenyan Tea industry players should diverge from a long linear supply chain to a value network in order to make Tea a ‘hero’ crop and enable creation of a more sustainable industry and counter the escalating global competition.","PeriodicalId":92484,"journal":{"name":"Business and economics journal","volume":" ","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.4172/2151-6219.1000340","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46636389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ahmad","doi":"10.4172/2151-6219.1000361","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.4172/2151-6219.1000361","url":null,"abstract":"The main purpose of this paper is to provide a conceptual framework on the role of entrepreneurial orientation (EO) in enhancing marketing innovation performance in the context of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) as it has been recommended to improve SMEs performance as a result of adopting the three principal business procedure. The paper was motivated by the importance of SMEs towards job creation, poverty reduction and economic development in most economies particularly among the developing countries. The SMEs sector has more flexibility in the face of environmental change when worldwide competition is becoming more powerful. At this edge of an economy, the level of innovation is the key to their success, growth, and survival. Thus achieving a workable marketing innovation system as well as improving services delivery are becoming critical. The existing literature demonstrates that the effectiveness of SMEs is reliant on the state of environmental influences. The environmental dynamism shapes the achievement of SMEs objectives and overall innovation performance. This study proposes the research framework on the effect of EO on marketing innovation performance. As postulated in the study, EO standin through the five measurements of autonomy, innovativeness, risk-taking, proactiveness and competitive aggressiveness enables a firm to act resourcefully and organize its resources in a way that contributes to marketing innovation performance due to the tendency to act autonomously, the trend to be aggressive toward competition, to proactively pursue market opportunities, and to have the willingness to innovate and bear the risk. On this basis, this study further postulated that environmental dynamism moderates the relationships between the five dimensions of EO and marketing innovation performance.","PeriodicalId":92484,"journal":{"name":"Business and economics journal","volume":"9 1","pages":"1-8"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.4172/2151-6219.1000361","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70227947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless, the complexity of this method makes it hard to carry out the optimal mechanism. This paper combines the first sealed auction mechanism with multi-attribute auction, and gives a method of transforming multi-attribute auction into single-attribute auction by bidding in deposit. The analysis indicates that this method can just not only reduces the transaction risk caused by suppliers who will abandon the bid, but also makes the multi-attribute auction more easier to implement and operate; Besides, the method meets the incentive compatibility and participation constraint conditions under which the highest bidding supplier will win the auction; On the other hand, it also shows that equilibrium price and equilibrium quality increase as the efficiency parameter increase, but equilibrium delivery time increase when it decrease. More importantly, it is really interesting and inspiring that this method can bring more expected profits to the buyer comparing with traditional auction.","PeriodicalId":92484,"journal":{"name":"Business and economics journal","volume":"9 1","pages":"1-8"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.4172/2151-6219.1000352","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70228041","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As large number of people try to find a comfortable mode of transport, numerous minds work to provide the service and drive a business. The introduction of app based cab services and radio taxis is primarily a new concept in the Indian context. The success of such services in the metropolitan cities of India has lured the companies to start their operation in the major cities of the country and are slowly heading towards the urban and semi urban areas. The facilities and tariff rates provided by these companies are unmatched. The impatient generation of today, wish to get everything in their fingertips and these companies have provided them with just that. Now, people can book a taxi from a mobile and avail the service of transportation within minutes. The physical, laborious and time consuming job of a taxi hunt is eliminated with a search algorithm in the servers of these cab companies. The study on consumers’ perspective on the cab services in Guwahati gives us a glimpse of the viewpoint of people towards the facilities provided by such companies. The lack of published literature on the topic indicated the potentiality of research in this field. Hence, personal interviews, review of published newspaper articles have been referred to get a hold over the topic and frame a questionnaire for the survey. From the survey conducted, it is seen that Uber and Ola are the prime players. People of Guwahati city are satisfied with the services of the companies but want more facilities to be provided.","PeriodicalId":92484,"journal":{"name":"Business and economics journal","volume":"9 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.4172/2151-6219.1000364","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70228262","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data for the study was obtained from 160 randomly selected farm households by using structured questionnaire. To select sample respondents, the stratified sampling technique was used. The adapted FGT index, Coping Strategy index and binary logit model were used for data analysis. The finding from FGT index revealed that 70.62 percent of households in the study area were found food insecure. The depth and severity of food insecurity were found 37% and 25.6%, respectively. The logistic regression model result showed that factors such as household size, livestock ownership of households, land size, opportunity to off-farm activities, and distance to the local market were found significant factors influencing households’ food security status. Thus, promotion of family planning, enhancing livestock packages, and creation of rural employment opportunities are recommended.","PeriodicalId":92484,"journal":{"name":"Business and economics journal","volume":"24 1","pages":"1-12"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.4172/2151-6219.1000345","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70226823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
