It ensures safe birth, reduce both actual and potential complications and maternal death and increase the survival of most mothers and newborns. But most deliveries in developing countries occur at home without skilled birth attendants. The 2014 EDHS report revealed that 83.4% deliveries took place at home whereas only 15.4% of deliveries were institutional [1]. Maternal deaths are strongly associated with delays to utilization of institutional delivery service and inadequate medical care at the time of delivery. Several factors have been identified as barriers to early access to skilled care by women especially in developing countries; these include perceived quality of care at health facility, inadequate number of skilled personnel, geographical inaccessibility and financial constraints, decision making power, awareness on danger sign of pregnancy and benefit of utilizing institutional delivery services [2]. Even with the best possible antenatal care, it is established that delivery could be complicated and timely utilization of institutional delivery service is essential to safe delivery care [3]. Therefore, the aim of this study was to assess the delays in utilization of institutional delivery service and its determinants in Yem Special Woreda, Southwest Ethiopia.","PeriodicalId":92369,"journal":{"name":"Global journal of reproductive medicine","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48166601","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unsafe abortion is one of the three leading causes of maternal mortality globally. In Africa, unsafe abortion accounts for more than a quarter of causes for maternal deaths. Ethiopia is one of the east African countries with highest incidence of unsafe abortion. Objective: The main objective of this study was to assess knowledge, Attitude and Practice of female students at Yebu secondary school towards induced abortion and associated factors. Method: Cross-sectional study was conducted in Yebu secondary school female students from May to June, 2016. The students were selected by systemic random sampling technique. The data was collected using self-administered questionnaires. The data was entered and analyzed using SPSS software. Chi-square (χ2) test was used to look for association of variables. Results: More than half, 110 (55.5%), of respondents knew at least one methods of abortion and 188 (94.9%) of them knew at least one type of abortion complication. From the total respondents 32 (16.2%) of them had sexual intercourse at least once. Only 5(2.5%) of respondents had induced abortion before. Marital status and family income has statistical association with knowledge towards induced abortion. Conclusion: More than 70% of the respondents were lacking knowledge and had negative attitude towards induced abortion. Therefore, it would be better to disseminate health education to increase awareness and knowledge regarding induced abortion.","PeriodicalId":92369,"journal":{"name":"Global journal of reproductive medicine","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43528800","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They are undoubtedly a difficult population to treat because these usually include the presence healed and poorly vascularized tissues, aesthetic deformation, lower urinary tract symptoms resulting into psychosexual consequences.These patients can be divided into three categories: the first group are the primary cases, the second group includes patients who had previous surgery during childhood and have a late complication (for example, a urethrocutaneous fistula, a persistent bend, urethral stricture,urethral diverticulum and poor aesthetic result), and the third group are patients who have undergone several failed surgeries called “crippled hypospadias” [1]. We report a case of hypospadias that we classify in the second group and for which we opted for a Leveuf urethroplasty.","PeriodicalId":92369,"journal":{"name":"Global journal of reproductive medicine","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47026101","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It appears to be secondary to the rupture of the retroperitoneal lymphatic vessels in the pyelocaliceal system, giving the urine a milky appearance. This condition, if left untreated, causes significant morbidity due to haemato-chyluria, recurrent renal colic, acute urinary retention, nutritional problems due to protein loss and resulting immunosuppression due to lymphocyturia. Chyluria can be classified into mild, moderate or severe. Its treatment comprises 3 components depending on the severity of the disease: conservative medical treatment, sclerotherapy by intrarenal pelvic instillation of sclerosing agents and surgical treatment.In our work, we present a case of bilateral chyluria treated by transperitoneal laparoscopic nephrolysis and at the same time discuss the epidemiological, physiopathological, diagnostic and therapeutic characteristics of chyluria.","PeriodicalId":92369,"journal":{"name":"Global journal of reproductive medicine","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43648362","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
