However, Voronoi Diagrams precompute the geometric areas that each of these locations is closest to in order to ameliorate the cost of computing distances later on. Problematically, the initial computations required to generate a Voronoi Diagram can be computationally expensive. Naive approaches to generating discretized Voronoi Diagrams require every discretized position to be analyzed with the set of locations. This paper introduces a new algorithm to compute discretized Voronoi Diagrams using a divide-and-conquer approach. Rather than calculate every position, our approach calculates the positions at the four corners of a quadrant. If the corners belong to the same region, there is no need to subdivide this quadrant anymore; but if they are different than the original quadrant is subdivided into smaller quadrants. The process is repeated recursively until the entire diagram has been calculated appropriately.</p>","PeriodicalId":92209,"journal":{"name":"IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology : [proceedings]. However, due to RAKI reconstruction depends on multiple convolutional neural networks, implementing RAKI reconstruction is a time-consuming task. In this study, we present accelerate strategies for RAKI implementation aided by GPU parallel programming. Aiming at the characteristics of RAKI, we limited the iteration number of solving optimization problems in the network training stage, while maintaining the reconstruction results are visually satisfying. Further more, according to the independence between multiple networks, we parallelized the training tasks by CPU multiprocessing, which maximizes the performance by fully utilizing GPU resources. According to our experiments, these efforts gave more than 60x speed up compared with conventional, sequential implementation. With the ability of completing RAKI reconstruction in minutes, we are able to bring RAKI into practical applications.</p>","PeriodicalId":92209,"journal":{"name":"IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology : [proceedings]. Using biomechanical factors of the participant's walking behavior, an estimated walking speed was calculated and used to adjust the speed of the treadmill. Our proposed algorithm expands on the current hypotheses of feedback-controlled treadmill algorithms and is presented below. Nine healthy, young adults walked on a treadmill controlled by the algorithm for three trials over two days. Each participant walked on the feedback-controlled treadmill for one 16-minute and one five-minute trial during day one and one 16-minute trial during day two. Mean, standard deviation, interclass correlation coefficient (ICC), and standard error of measurement (SEM) were analyzed on the treadmill belt speed mean, standard deviation, and coefficient of variation. There were significantly high ICC for mean treadmill speed within- and between-days. Treadmill speed standard deviation and coefficient of variation were significantly reliable within-day. These results suggest the algorithm will reliably produce the same treadmill belt speed mean, but may only produce a similar treadmill belt speed standard deviation and coefficient of variation if the trials are performed in the same day. A feedback-controlled treadmill algorithm that accounts for the user's behavior provides a greater level of control and minimizes any possible constraints of walking on a conventional treadmill.</p>","PeriodicalId":92209,"journal":{"name":"IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology : [proceedings]. The proposed filter is obtained by using an structure based on the Interpolated Finite Impulse Response (IFIR) approach. Unlike the classical IFIR scheme, in this proposal the interpolator is designed first as a simple multiplierless filter composed by cascaded subfilters with unitary coefficients. To compensate for the passband droop introduced by the interpolator, the model filter is designed in second place using a linear programming optimization. The resulting filter accomplishes standard magnitude response characteristics with a lower computational complexity in comparison with the standard filter and with the design based on the direct IFIR method.","PeriodicalId":92209,"journal":{"name":"IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology : [proceedings]. In this paper a flexible dipole antenna on a passive UHF RFID tag is designed on an inexpensive paper substrate which can sense the moisture based on the polarization of the antenna. An inexpensive paper substrate and copper (Cu) layer are used for the flexibility and the optimization of manufacturing cost. The dipole antenna is matched with the complex conjugate of the power harvesting circuit of the Higgs2 Integrated Circuit (13.88 -j143.6 at the frequency of 915 MHz). The key characteristic of this design is the sensitivity of the antenna polarization on the passive RFID tag to the moisture content in the paper substrate. In simulations, the antenna is circularly polarized when the substrate is dry (relative permittivity, ϵr= 2.38) and the antenna is linearly polarized when the substrate is wet (relative permittivity, ϵ r= 35.35). The read ranges of the fabricated dipole antenna (i.e., prototype RFID moisture sensor) are measured and the desired performance is achieved with overall tag dimensions of 0.144λo × 0.133λo where λo is the free space wavelength at 915 MHz.","PeriodicalId":92209,"journal":{"name":"IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology : [proceedings]. Image and video capacity are the essential components of a multimedia system. Representing digital video requires large amount of data, thus, video compression is necessary. In this paper, the Hybrid MC/DCT video codec standard is examined and a video compression algorithm based on the present standard is implemented. The application of Hybrid codec is done with efficiency in mind to provide the least compromise between the computational speed and compression ratio. To make such implementation practicable, the heart of its compression algorithm; the discrete cosine transform, quantization and variable length coding are analyzed carefully. The techniques such as motion compensated prediction which do not considerably reduce image quality, however improve coding efficiency are incorporated in the code. Initially, we briefly review the compression standards; then the hybrid codec technique for the moving pictures is investigated.","PeriodicalId":92209,"journal":{"name":"IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology : [proceedings].
