Therefore, this study was performed to examine the relationship between breakfast absence frequency and intake of nutritional supplement in Koreans. Methods: The analysis used the data from The Korea National Health and Nutrition Survey (2018). Main independent variable is breakfast frequency and other valid variables are sex, residence, age, education level, economic status, current smoking status, drinking frequency, body mass index, numbers of time to eat out, exercising habits, underlying conditions, subjective health status and job status. Dependent variable is intake of nutritional supplements. Breakfast frequency variable is divided in to four groups, which are none, 1-2 days, 3-4 days, and 5-7 days per week. Intake of nutritional supplements variable is divided in to two group, which are none taking and taking the supplements. Data were analyzed using PASW Statistics 18 and chi-square and multiple logistic regression analysis. Results: Regular breakfast eating group (5-7 days per week) took nutritional supplements 1.563 times more than non eating group (p= 0.002). This study interestingly suggests that breakfast frequency and intake of nutritional supplements had positive correlation. Conclusions: Having breakfast regularly leads to taking nutritional supplements, and will eventually lead to health promotion. Thus, educating proper dietary habit is needed for encouraging to have breakfast regularly.","PeriodicalId":91119,"journal":{"name":"Journal of health informatics","volume":"46 1","pages":"188-195"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47748901","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: This study explains TB incidences in a spatial perspective. A spatial multilevel regression model was applied to account for the spatial inequality of TB and related factors. Applied socio-environmental factors were average age, population density, Normalized Difference Built-up Index (NDBI), particulate matter (PM10), medical insurance, financial independence rate, and medical doctors per 1,000 people. Results: This study finds evident spatial inequality of TB in Gyeongsangbuk-do. Most TB hotspots are identified around Yeongyang-gun, the area with the lowest socio-economic status in Korea. The regression result shows that level 1 factors (Average age, NDBI, PM10) and level 2 factors (medical insurance, financial independence rate) were statistically significant related to TB incidences. Furthermore, spatial filtering applied to multilevel regression accounts for spatial autocorrelation of TB incidence. Conclusions: Regional socio-economic and demographic conditions in Gyeongsangbuk-do influence TB incidences. Given low expectations on Gyeongsangbuk-do’s socio-economic and demographic growth, reducing the spatial inequality of TB would be challenging.","PeriodicalId":91119,"journal":{"name":"Journal of health informatics","volume":"46 1","pages":"88-99"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48743491","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Through this, we aim to provide implications for the management of lung cancer patients and the national cancer policy. Methods: The subjects of this study were the Korean National Hospital Discharge in-depth Injury Survey, which was surveyed from 2006 to 2016, and among them, patients with lung cancer were selected. The major variable, comorbidities, were grouped based on the middle classification of the KCD-7 revision. The general characteristics were analyzed by frequency, and χ-test was performed to test the difference in the distribution for the presence of comorbidity. In order to analyze the association rules of comorbidities, the support, confidence, and improvement of the association rules were presented and visualized using the arules package and apriori algorithm of the R program. Results: As a result of the analysis, the proportion of patients with comorbid diseases out of 21,882 discharged patients was 82.86%, and an average of 2.48 ± 2.19 comorbidities was diagnosed. As a result of applying the association rules criteria of support ( > 0.01), confidence ( > 0.1), and lift ( > 1), 33 comorbidity patterns were found. The high association rules were “hypertensive diseases (I10-I15)” and “malignant neoplasms of ill-defined, secondary and unspecified sites (C76-C80)”, “diabetes mellitus (E10-E14)” and “hypertensive diseases (I10-I15)”, “malignant neoplasms of ill-defined, secondary and unspecified sites (C76-C80)” and “diabetes mellitus (E10-E14)”, “influenza and pneumonia (J09-J18)” and “hypertensive diseases (I10-I15)”, and so on. Conclusions: This study provides the rules related to comorbidities of lung cancer patients in Korean. It is used for the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer patients, and it provides implications for effectively improving cancer policy. Future research on the effect on medical use or treatment results is needed, focusing on major comorbidities.","PeriodicalId":91119,"journal":{"name":"Journal of health informatics","volume":"46 1","pages":"100-109"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47755637","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
