The transition from KTSP to the 2013 curriculum is a problem for teachers in applying assessment skills in learning, because teachers still have difficulty implementing authentic assessments and still use assessments in terms of cognitive tests only (Setiadi, 2016). This study aims to determine the literacy profile of science teacher assessments at SMA Negeri 1 Gubug and the assessment used by science teachers. This is because there is no source of research on teacher awareness of assessment in SMA Negeri 1 Gubug. This research uses descriptive quantitative research method, with purposive sampling. The instruments used in this research are the assessment literacy test, interview guidelines, questionnaires, and check list sheets. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the assessment literacy profile of science teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Gubug is based on PAP Type II is in the \"Very Low\" category (assessment literacy questionnaire) and \"Low\" category (interview results). The teacher has the highest score with a score of 86% on the aspect of the difficulty of using the assessment, while the lowest score is on the aspect of attitude assessment by getting a score of 18%. The implication of this study is that by knowing the literacy assessment profile, teachers can understand and implement the importance of assessment so that this can be used as a benchmark in improving the quality of learning.","PeriodicalId":90868,"journal":{"name":"International journal of quantitative research in education","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79117320","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, it sought to answer the following: (1) What information can be obtained based on the analysis of Wattpad E-Community in terms of (a) strengths, (b) weakness, (c) opportunities, and (d) threats?; and (2) What program can be proposed based on the S.W.O.T analysis of Wattpad E-Community?. This descriptive-quantitative research collected data via survei which were analyzed and interpreted using Weighted Mean, ranking, and verbal descriptors. The SWOT analysis indicated that ideal platform, learning experience, and sociable environment are among the group’s strengths, whereas excessive liberty, technical difficulties, and exclusivity belong to its weaknesses. In addition, the discovered opportunities in the group include possibility to meet and learn from professionals/expert, development of online learning community, and potential feasibility in data gathering, while possibility to transfer to another e-community, cyber security hazards, and frequent power outages are considered as threats. Therefore, it is recommended to propose the implementation of Project VIBE (Virtual, Interactive, and Boundless Engagement), alongside the application of the improvements and revisions generated from the results of the SWOT Analysis.","PeriodicalId":90868,"journal":{"name":"International journal of quantitative research in education","volume":"23 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75110221","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, we used a one-group, pre-post-test design for our experiments. Students from SMP Hasanuddin 6 Semarang's eighth grade made up the study's sample population. Twenty-four pupils from VII A were involved as the sample of this study. A reading test was carried out as this study's primary instrument of data collection. Before being taught using the CIRC method, students had a mean score of 40.91, indicating that their reading ability in narrative text was inadequate and needed improvement; after being taught using the CIRC method, students had a mean score of 64.12, indicating that their reading ability in narrative text was good and had already improved. In other words, the CIRC technique works well for teaching students to read narrative texts.","PeriodicalId":90868,"journal":{"name":"International journal of quantitative research in education","volume":"33 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85874844","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It establishes that some applications are not only meant for entertainment, some of which can be of great value to learning. For this reason, this study aims to test the Effectiveness and Utilization of Social Media as an Academic Medium in the UNC College of Education to provide concrete evidence of what particular activities social media be integrated with the teaching-learning process. The study used a mixed-method design. It adopted a survey and interview instrument towards the perspective of students and teachers on social media as a tool for academic medium. The researchers determined the number of participants for the college professors through a Non-probability sampling technique, while the purposive sampling technique was utilized in determining the number of students. The study results show that most students and teachers used social media, particularly Facebook and Messenger, for communication and collaborative learning. Also, the study proves that social media platforms were highly effective and served as students' alternative LMS, which increases students' engagement with the teaching-learning process. The study realized that social media platforms help students develop learning experiences and creativity towards attaining academic achievement and boosting academic performance in making projects or assignments. Moreover, social media platforms offer a variety of activities that can be integrated into the achievement of teaching- learning. Some were used as a communication tool, be an alternative LMS where students could submit assignments, and be an announcement board where teachers could send updates and notifications. Therefore, it was recommended that social media platforms be maximized in the classroom, and teachers ensure that the student-teacher relationship remains despite the restriction to face-to-face learning. However, further research should be conducted to determine the risks and impact of too much use of these platforms on the students' mental, physical, and mental aspects and how this may affect their academic performance if misused.","PeriodicalId":90868,"journal":{"name":"International journal of quantitative research in education","volume":"50 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81558483","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
