Does Inhaled Corticosteroids Increase the Risk of Nontuberculous Mycobacteria Pulmonary Disease: A Meta-Analysis. Biomed of NTM-PD with the usage of ICS among chronic respiratory patients. Methods: The PubMed, EMBASE and Web of Science databases were applied to identify eligible studies until Nov. 18, 2019. Studies focusing on the correlation between ICS and NTM-PD among chronic respiratory patients were concluded. Odds Ratio (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) were extracted and synthesized to evaluate the risk of NTM-PD with the usage of ICS. Heterogeneity was assessed by using Cochran Q and I-square statistics. Sensitivity and subgroup analysis were performed to trace the source of heterogeneity. Results: A total of 5 studies with 20968 chronic respiratory patients were enrolled in current meta-analysis. The pooled OR for the risk of NTM-PD with the usage of ICS was 1.97 (95% CI: 1.45—2.67, I2=77.3%, P=0.001). In sensitivity analysis, Bual’s study was the origin of heterogeneity. In the subgroup analysis, there was a trend towards the increased risk of NTM-PD with the usage of ICS among asthma and COPD patients. In addition, high-dose and current usage of ICS could increase the risk of NTM-PD. A positive relationship was the of ICS and the risk of NTM-PD. The present communication is a follow up and extension of the paper “The Spherical Inverted Pendulum: Exact Solutions of Gait and Foot Placement Estimation Based on Symbolic Computation” by the same author. The walk design is approached by a 3-D inverted pendulum in a polar coordinate system. The advantage of this model is to easily offer indications of the energy expenditure of an efficient walk. However, the disadvantages that were never recognized by authors previously using this model is that the COG trajectory has to pass through the supporting foot location. This causes an unnecessary and unrealistic waving in the frontal plane during gait. The problem is discussed here and solved by extending the model of the inverted pendulum by introducing the pelvis width and the distance between the hips of the two legs, without adding dynamical complexity. Several studies have been conducted with different genotypes of this particular gene polymorphism among various ethnicities throughout the world. The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between FGFR2 (rs2981582) gene polymorphism and FGFR2 gene expression with breast cancer in Indian women and also to establish the relative gene expression with different genotypes of the polymorphism, if there is any. Method: A total of 75 cases were selected, out of which 25 were malignant cases,25 healthy controls and 25 benign cases. Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism Polymerase Chain Reaction (RFLP PCR) was used to determine FGFR2 Single Nucleotide Polymorphism and Real Time Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT qPCR) for FGFR2 gene expression. The strength of association was estimated using Odds Ratios (ORs) and 95% Confidence Intervals (CIs). RESULTS: Our results showed that FGFR2 (rs2981582) polymorphism is not significantly associated with breast cancer in Indian women. However, FGFR2 gene expression is significantly increased in breast cancer but the differential gene expression associated with different genotypes (TT / TC / CC) is not significant in both malignant and benign cases.
