Aim: The objective of the work was the assessment of the change in body composition and physical fitness in early-school-age children participating in a 6-week therapeutic programme aimed at children with low body mass and those overweight. \u0000Methods: Examined were 175 children of 7-10 years of age from Wroclaw. Their body composition (before and after the therapeutic programme) being marked with the 8-electrode body composition analyzer BC-418 MA Tanita. On the basis of BMI under and overweight children were selected to take part in a 6-week therapeutic programme (2 × 45 min/week). \u0000Results: Underweight and overweight was found in 12% of the 175 children examined. Twenty children participated in the therapeutic programme (9 underweight, 11 overweight). No body mass change in overweight children was observed with a simultaneous decrease in body fat. Statistically significant changes in body composition were observed in underweight children. \u0000Conclusion: The therapeutic programme lowered body mass (in underweight children only) and fat content along with an increase in muscle mass (FFM). It was observed that the 6-week programme needs to be prolonged to at least 10 weeks in order to obtain significant changes in body composition in the group of overweight children.

Nevertheless, child obesity prevention programs and relevant information is limited. Our study aimed to investigate child obesity status, lifestyle behaviours (LSBs) and their predictors, and their structures, in order to develop a model to discuss a collaborative healthy weight development program for schoolchildren in urban Indonesia. There were two objectives of our study: (1) In order to investigate schoolchildren's obesity status, LSBs, and their predictors and (2) In order to examine relationships among schoolchildren's obesity status, LSBs, and their predictors in urban Indonesia. \u0000Methods: The design was a cross-sectional study using physical measurement tools and an 82 item selfdeveloped questionnaire based on interviews for 9 to 11 year old school children in 2015. Sampling included 5 schools resulting in 594 eligible students with 579 (97.5%) responding. Collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and a structural equation modeling. The Research Ethics Committee of St. Luke's International University (Approval Number 15-036) approved our study. \u0000Results: Physical measurement classified participants 40% as obese or overweight and 35% as underweight. Descriptive statistics revealed limited behaviours and environments in access to snacks, physical activity (PA), weight-monitoring, obesity education, and support. The models by type of schools and by sex (CFI=0.88-0.91) indicated; boys' trouble sleeping (β=-0.18), private schoolchildren's frequency of junk and outside foods (β=-0.18 and -0.19) predicted Body Mass Index. Safe-PA environment (β=0.17-0.48) and family support (β=0.36-0.59) predicted PA LSBs. For girls, PA-peer presence predicted PA LSBs (β=0.88). \u0000Conclusion: These findings could help developing the effective obesity-prevention programs such as healthy dietary environment, safe-PA-environment, PA-peer-group support for girls, family-involved dietary-PA interventions in urban Indonesia.

Despite the availability of highly effective methods of contraception, many pregnancies are unplanned and unwanted. These pregnancies carry a higher risk of morbidity and mortality, often due to unsafe abortion. Many of these unplanned pregnancies can be avoided using emergency contraception. Besides, there is paucity of information on knowledge, attitude and practice of Jimma preparatory school female students related to emergency contraceptive. Objective: To assess the knowledge, attitude and practice toward emergency contraception among female students of Jimma preparatory, school Jimma town, south-west Ethiopia. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted female students in Jimma preparatory school, Jimma town, south west of Ethiopia to assess the knowledge, attitude and practices of EC. The source of population of this study was all (N=340) female students in grade 11 and 12 enrolled in the school during academic year 2013/14. The sample size was calculated on base of 95% level confidence and 5% level of precision. It was adjusted taking 5% non-respondents using single population proportion formula. Data was collected by interviewing the study subjects by using semi-structured questionnaire. Then the data were tallied, edited and analyzed. Then the data were presented in graphs and frequency tables and chi-square test and significant association was declared at p-value of <0.05 with 95% CI. Result: From 157 respondents about 137(87.26%) have ever heard about emergency contraception of which 52.2% has good knowledge about emergency contraceptive and; and only 11.46% of those who have practiced sex were used emergency contraceptive. Oral contraceptive pill was the most widely used 18(100%). Health professionals were the main source of information 138 (70.8%) Even though there is high awareness, there is a problem on timely using of the service and utilization of emergency contraceptive methods and unfavorable access to the service for school female students. Hence there is a need for collaborative effort to improve service quality and prevent female students from life threatening behaviors.

A cross sectional survey was conducted to explore the math anxiety among the student and their parents’ attitude towards math. The data were collected from 200 participants (children n=100; parents n=100). The children age range was from 8-12 years, they were from different schools of Dhaka and parents’ age range was from 27 to 55 years. “Math Anxiety scale for Secondary School Students” developed by Haque and Hossain (2013) was used to measure math anxiety of the children. ‘Parents attitude towards math questionnaire’ developed by the researcher was used to measure parents’ anxiety. Correlation between parents attitude towards math and children’s math anxiety was r=0.410. Result indicates that parent’s attitude has significant effect on children’s math anxiety, meaning that 17% of the math anxiety for secondary school student is due to parents’ attitude towards math. Parents’ gender has significant effect on math anxiety but children gender has no significant effect regarding math anxiety.

As well as to solicit their understanding of the important components of collaboration that might improve services. A model based on the work of Blue-Banning, Summers, Frankland, Nelson and Beegle (2004) was adopted having six original domains including communication, knowledge, respect, trust, equality, commitment, a seventh domain of advocacy was added. A sample of 163 parents of families with disabilities was interviewed and a survey was collected accordingly, validity and reliability of the tool were checked in addition to an exploratory factor analysis, which confirmed the previous model. Results showed a great need for collaboration between families and school personnel especially teachers, all components are important and need to be addressed; still communication and equality were the major components of collaboration that needs to be addressed to achieve proper collaboration. Further analysis showed some differences according to other variables, like educational institute type, further implications are discussed.

It has many differential diagnoses and is often associated with psychiatric comorbidities. One of the differential diagnoses of TS is Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD); the stereotypic behavior of which needs to be differentiated from the tics of Tourette sufferers. This is a report of an 8-year-old boy with Tourette syndrome who was seriously disabled by his symptoms that necessitated thorough evaluation to exclude any causes, differential diagnoses, and or comorbidities. The treatment of children and adolescents with Tourette syndrome is an important clinical issue. In such cases the potential longterm negative effects of using antipsychotic or other medications need to be weighed against the disruptive effects of persistent Tourette symptoms on patients’ lives.
