We considered the idealized unit disk graph model in which nodes are assumed to be connected if and only if nodes are within their transmission range. The main contribution of this work is a fully distributed algorithm to extract the connected, planar graph for routing in the wireless networks. The communication cost of the proposed algorithm is O(d log d) bits, where d is the degree of anode. In addition, this paper also presented a geometric routing algorithm. {"title":"Internet Mobility using SIP and MIP","authors":"Abdul Nasir, Mah-Rukh","doi":"10.1109/ITNG.2006.81","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ITNG.2006.81","url":null,"abstract":"This review paper discusses a mechanism for inter domain mobility, which integrates the good aspects of two protocols i.e. of an application layer protocol namely Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and a network layer protocol called Mobile Internet Protocol (MIP). The paper first gives a brief and compact introduction of the working of both the protocols in terms of mobility. It discusses the behavior of both the protocols towards UDP and TCP applications. This mechanism shows that how we can efficiently utilize SIP for UDP applications while MIP for TCP applications. Moreover a mechanism called Route Optimization is described in the paper that can help us overcome the problem of triangular routing and tunneling in MIP. It even points out the conditions where Route Optimization cannot work. The paper further gives a description of Predictive Address Resolution (PAR).
