A state of wellness is different from modern conceptualizations of health and it has been opined that modern medical methodology focuses on revenues and actions of physicians in marketing medical technologies that do not necessarily produce positive outcomes. Although medical technologies have allowed people to extend their lives as a perceived benefit, this technological type of intervention has many times led to lack of responsiveness to the natural progression of holistic physiological well-being. Medical practice should be viewed through a wider lens as a method of addressing a state of wellness and balance between body and soul, in order to achieve the desires and needs of both doctors and patients.

In our present study, we have evaluated the stability of various CBC parameters of blood samples stored in k2-EDTA (BD) vials at 4°C (extended storage time: 10 days). Materials and methods: Blood sample (2.5 ml) was drawn directly in K2-EDTA vials. Measurements were done by using MEK-9100 hematology analyzer at regular intervals over an extended period up to 246 h (10 days). Significant differences were analyzed by Paired student’s t-test. Mean percent differences of the all intervals were compared with baseline means. Results: Among CBC parameters, WBC count was stable for up to 126 h, RBC and HGB levels were statistically stable for up to 186 h and 90 h. No significant changes were observed in NE, LY, MO, EO and BA for up to 42 h, 42 h, 66 h, 66 h, and 6 h respectively. PLT counts were stable for 6 h. Furthermore, results of HCT, MCV, MCH, MCHC, RDW-CV, RDW-S, PCT and MPV were statistically stable for up to 54 h, 42 h, 18 h, 30 h, 42 h, 30 h, 6 h and 6 h respectively. Conclusion: Estimation of RBC, WBC and HGB were qualitatively reliable ~186 h, 126 h and 90 h respectively. However, most parameters of CBC were unchanged ~48 h except for the PLT (6 h). To avoid changes in few parameters, such as MPV, basophiles, it is best to store the sample at 4°C if any delay is anticipated.

Reduced bladder capacity disturbs reservoir function of urinary bladder. Patient may suffer from frequency of urination, urgency and even incontinence. It makes life of the patient miserable. Bladder capacity can be markedly affected in different conditions. One such important condition is Genitourinary Tuberculosis, which reduces the bladder capacity up to 10-15 ml. Other conditions may be interstitial cystitis and Bilharziasis. We describe here a case of Thimble bladder (10-12 ml capacity only) which was not due to genitourinary tuberculosis but may be a sequelae of NASWAR (smokeless tobacco) or complicated cystitis. This case is a dilemma and hopes to generate a discussion and interest for further studies into the topic.

This essay grounds its argument in two, straightforward premises: (i) the ethical principle of cooperation is an indispensable measure of the moral licitness of most, if not all, instances of complicity with wrongdoing; (ii) some instances of material organizational complicity vis-a-vis confidential withholdings of HIV seropositive status from partners of sexually active patients both meet and employ successfully the standards of the ethical principle of cooperation. Drawing from this syllogism, the aim and proposal of this essay posits the argument that, in Type II cases, health care organizations may (initially and on certain conditions) materially cooperate in withholding the HIV seropositive status of patients from partners with whom patients are sexually active and to whom patients do not intend to disclose HIV seropositive status in the effort to honor the (prima facie) professional obligations of privacy, confidentiality, and fidelity in a manner that is both legally licit and morally justifiable.

However, this also presents tremendous opportunities for new areas of exploration, cost savings and revenue growth to organizations that are willing to visualize their data in new ways. Size and complexity of clinical data matters, and unfortunately today’s visualization technology does not deliver the critical functionality for the researcher to quickly understand how data is connected and the dependencies between seemingly disparate data sets. Common dashboard visualizations do not provide the necessary context into how data is connected and what insights can be drawn based on these connections. In order to meet the increasing board pressures to reduce cost and increase ROI, visual analytic tools must evolve to easily support all of the possible data available to researchers, including complex semi-structured, unstructured, and 3rd party data, and enable them to better understand which data is connected and how those data sets are related. This evolution provides the greatest opportunity for companies to use data in a more strategic way to improve value delivered to patients and shareholders. \u0000In this session, we will introduce and provide a software demonstration to show: \u0000• How very large, dense, complex data sets can be quickly and efficiently integrated into a visual analysis program \u0000• A set of visualizations that explore the connections and dependencies across data sets \u0000• A new method to visually analyze data, enabling a deeper, contextual exploration of data \u0000• How customers adopting this new method are realizing tremendous cost savings and improving their competitive position

In this regard, it is important to assess the scientific skills and precision of the pharmacists in diagnosing and correcting the possible medication errors. The aim of this research is to know how many pharmacists have been successful in performing their duties and providing medical services and what factors can influence this issue. \u0000Method: In this study, 120 pharmacies were selected to be assessed on their performance (giving information about Drug use, Drug interactions, Maintenance drug, etc.) in dealing with the prescription of the wrong medication (that is took by an unknown person) as well as the implementation of trade rules. \u0000Results: The results of this study indicated that pharmacists were present only in 65.83% of pharmacies of the whole sample. Although a small percentage of pharmacists were active in scientific fields, 69.17% of prescriptions are delivered by the staff. Moreover, patients were informed about 7.5% of drug interactions and 2.5% of side effects of drug and 19.16% of drug maintenance conditions. However, the accuracy of orders written in compliance with prescribed medication was 100%. \u0000Discussion: Although the improvement of medical services is of any pharmacist’s concern, this study manifests that providing the wrong medications or not expressing the required information about the medicines to the patient still happens in the pharmacies and obviously this issue must be regarded deeply.
