It is a potential alternative for fish replacement in the diet of quails. Methods: A study on 240 Japanese quail birds from day old to six week of age was conducted at Poultry Research Station, Madhavaram Milk Colony, Chennai with magmeal supplementation during the year 2015-16. The birds were divided into four groups and each having with three replicates with 20 birds in each replicate. Group 1 (Control group) was fed basal diet (with 7% fish meal), group 2 was fed basal diet replacing 50% fish meal with magmeal, group 3 was fed basal diet replacing 75% fish meal with magmeal and group 4 was fed with Japanese quail basal diet replacing 100% fish meal with magmeal. Economic evaluation of magmeal at various levels of inclusion in Japanese quail diet was calculated. Result: There was a sizeable reduction in the cost of production in all the treatment groups when compared to control group. It is concluded that feed containing magmeal was found to be cost effective than the feed containing fishmeal for the Japanese quails.

Crop insurance helps farmers by stabilizing agricultural profits, encouraging them to farm, lowering debt and reducing the need for crop failure assistance. This study examined crop insurance schemes in India and their effects on farmers. Based on terms like crop insurance, Insurance, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana we collected 175 papers by using various database such as Google Scholar, Web of Science and EBSCO host along with government data. Each manuscript’s title determined its initial relevance. Crop insurance is an important risk management tool, but most Indian farmers can’t afford it. The Indian government produces new agricultural policies every few years, but crop insurance programmes have been inconsistent and inefficient due to operational flaws. Agriculture insurance in India is still growing so that further research is need to be done to investigate the potential of an agriculture insurance market in India that is both financially sustainable and economically advantageous and successfully mitigates farmers’ risks.\u0000

The present experiment was conducted to determine the inhibitory effect of thirteen plant extracts and two bio-control agents on in vitro mycelium growth of S. rolfsii. Methods: The experiment was conducted in the Laboratory of Pulse Research Center, RARS, BARI, Ishurdi, Pabna, Bangladesh during rabi season in 2015. Seven isolates of S. rolfsii were collected from foot and root rot affected lentil plant. Antifungal activity of thirteen botanicals and two biocontrol agents (T. harziznum and T. viride) was tested against a fast growing isolate (Sc-38) of the pathogen following poisoned food technique. Result: Out of thirteen botanicals, only Black cumin inhibited colony growth of S. rolfsii, where the colony diameter ranged 0.00-6.00 cm at different days after incubation. A moderate inhibition was achieved with Tulsi at 3, 6 and 9 DAI compared to control. Amendment of PDA with compost and liquid T. harziznum and T. viride remarkably inhibited the colony growth of S. rolfsii compared to control. Efficacy of four treatments of biocontrol agents was much better than botanical treatments. Two botanical extracts (Black cumin and Tulsi) and biocontrol agents (T. harzianum and T. viride) were found effective against S. rolfsii.

Basing on published data, in tigers mammary gland carcinoma always seems to be highly invasive and metastatic. The present report describes a case of Mammary carcinoma with metastasis to lungs in a 20 year old Royal Bengal Tiger. Methods: Detailed necropsy examination of Royal Bengal Tiger revealed the subcutaneous massive lesion in the lower abdominal region. Representative tissue samples were collected in 10% formalin for histopathology examination. Result: Histopathological examination revealed small clusters of neoplastic epithelial cells. Micropapillae lacking fibrovascular cores extending into clear spaces. Cells exhibit moderate anisokaryosis and anisocytosis and variable numbers of mitoses with proliferation of fibrous connective tissue. Microscopic examination of lungs revealed the congestion, edema with focal proliferative neoplastic epithelial cells arranged in small clusters were scattered in the alveolar walls and spaces, indicative of metastasis. These histological features were suggestive of Mammary carcinoma with micropapillary pattern.\u0000

Sudhakar
Background: Agri-Clinics and Agri-Business Centres (AC and ABCs) is a scheme implemented by the Government of India in collaboration with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) to provide assistance for the development of entrepreneurship in agriculture, creating employment opportunities for the unemployed agricultural graduates and also providing extension services to the farmers in rural areas. The present study is a modest attempt to evaluate the progress and performance of the Agri-Clinics and Agri-Business Centres scheme in India from its inception to the present day by looking at state-by-state, training institute-by-training institute and project-by-project results. Methods: The study is based on the contemporary analysis of secondary data gathered from books, magazines, newspapers, reports, Publications, Research Articles and official websites from 1st April 2002 to 31st December 2021. Furthermore, the researcher acquired knowledge from both published and unpublished thesis in order to make the study interesting and beneficial. Result: It is found from the analysis that Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh are the leading states in implementing the scheme successfully as compared to the Hilly States. A little attention is focused on hilly states in terms of training and establishing agriventures. Hence, the government should pay special attention to the hilly states and take suitable policy measures to meet the requirements of the farmers residing in Hilly areas and also on fulfilling the goals of the scheme.\u0000
