Foeniculum vulgare is a member of Apiaceae family, commonly known as fennel. It is globally distributed aromatic medicinal herb. F. vulgare falls in the category of World’s most important medicinal herb because of its economic status and pharmaceutical industrial applications. It has been used as herbal treatment for a longer period of time as an effective medicine to cure different ailments such as liver pain, kidney disorders, swollen stomach, abdominal pain, and mouth ulcerand no documented severe side effects reported. Essential oil, flavonoids and phenolic compounds are major chemical constituents of F.vulgare. Volatile and non-volatile compounds of this plant are responsible for its biological activities. The Pharmacological experiments performed by in vitro and in vivo models, revealed that F. vulgare has strong therapeutic effects. This review is supposed to shed the light on anti-bacterial, antioxidant, antidiabetic, antifungal, antimicrobial, antianxiety, hepatoprotective, memory protective, acaricidal, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and anti-mutagenic activities.","PeriodicalId":8531,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences","volume":"28 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80423392","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several number of research publications have been published and chalcones continue to show promising effect for novel drug investigations. Chalcone is an advantaged moiety with therapeutic importance as it comprises of receptive ketoethylenic moiety – CO–CH=CH– having a place with flavonoids. Chalcones (1, 3-Diphenyl-prop-2-en-1-one) consists of a three carbon α, β-unsaturated carbonyl system and two or more aromatic rings and acts as precursors for the biosynthesis of flavonoids in plants. The presence of a highly reactive α, β-unsaturated carbonyl system in chalcone and its derivatives is the justification for its pharmacological potencies. However, synthesis in laboratory of broad range of chalcones has also been reported. Chalcones show a wide range of pharmacological impacts like anthelmintic, antileishmanial, antifungal, antimalarial, antioxidant, antiviral, antibacterial, antiulcer, antimycobacterial, insecticidal, antigout, antihistaminic, antiprotozoal, insecticidal, anticancer, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic etc. Chalcones can be synthesized through Claisen–Schmidt's condensation, Heck's reaction, Aldol condensation reaction, Suzuki's reaction, from cinnamic acid, Sonogashira Isomerization Coupling reaction, Microwave assisted synthesis etc. The purpose of the present review is to centralize the various and widely employed methods of synthesis of chalcone and their various derivatives and their antimicrobial and antioxidant activities.","PeriodicalId":8531,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences","volume":"60 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91017536","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nephrotoxicity occurs when body get exposed to a drugs or toxic metabolites. A number of synthetic, therapeutically active medicinal agents such as aminoglycosides antibiotic, chemotherapeutic agents and NSAIDS may affects urinary system resulting in acute renal failure, nephritis and other kidney related disease. Medicinal plants potentially possess most prominent role in the treatment of kidney related disorders and helpful in the development of effective therapy for kidney problems. Medicinal herbs are rich source of phytoconstituents, so the presence of some bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, steroids, phenols, alkaloids shows potent Nephroprotective properties towards to nephrotoxicity. In this current review aimed to illustrate a list of recent medicinal herbs act as Nephroprotective agents.","PeriodicalId":8531,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences","volume":"34 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72948748","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mild manifestations widely observed are flu-like symptoms, fever, malaise, and fatigue. Left untreated, this results in disease progression manifested by chest pain, dyspnoea, chest tightness, and death of the patients. COVID-19 has spread to every part of the world due to lack of specific treatment strategies regarding Corona Virus disease, treated symptomatically and an emergency call for vaccine development was initiated globally. In accordance, preventive measures were taken to control the spread of the corona virus. They include the implementation of the use of face masks, hand hygiene, respiratory hygiene, social distancing, lockdown, curfew, closing educational institutes, closing borders, awareness programmes, safety programmes, and advancements in the medical field. High risk groups were handled sensitively to head off the COVID-19 incident. Patients with psychological distress during lockdown were supported psychologically, airlines closed to prevent entry of new cases, and all passengers were screened and quarantined to prevent the spread of the disease. Due to the implementation of the lock down, almost all businesses, small-scale industries, and travel agencies were closed temporarily, leading to an economic crisis globally. Many countries with tourist spots were closed resulted in a lack of financial support in those countries. In that regard, many organisations have come forward to provide financial support. This review mainly focuses on the preventive strategies implemented by each country, their contingency plans, and financial measures assisted by various organisations to prevent the spread directly or indirectly.","PeriodicalId":8531,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences","volume":"31 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77305311","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
