{"title":"[Theory of mosaics of the squamous epithelium].","authors":"G A Savost'ianov","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>Formalization of existing quantitative notions on module structure of tissues and, in particular, squamous epithelium++ has been performed. An idea has been developed on the elementary tissue unit (ETU), appearing as a consequence of divergence ++ of functions among cells. The tissue is considered as a result of polymerization of the ETU. According to cell composition in the ETU, the tissues are proposed to be divided into simple and complex ones. Certain sets of rules have been formulated concerning polymerization of the ETU, they allow to find a lot of all possible constructions of simple and complex tissues and, in this way, prognosticate their development in phylo- and ontogenesis. A part of theoretically found constructions are demonstrated to be realized in some animals. {"title":"[Anatomical variability of the left gastric artery and vein in newborn infants].","authors":"A A Pashko","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>Structural variants of the left gastric artery (LGA) and left gastric vein (LGV) in newborns have been studied on 93 preparations of the stomach with ++extra-organic arteries and on 90 preparations of the stomach with ++extra-organic veins. There is certain correlation between the length of the trunk and character of branching of the LGA. A branch of the LGA, running to the posterior surface of the cardial part in the upper part of the gastric body, which is not described in the literature, has been found. Rather often in newborn children from the iliac trunk instead of the LGA, a left gastro-hepatic trunk has got off. {"title":"[Embryonal development of grouped lymphoid nodules (Peyer's patches) in the human ileum].","authors":"T A Minina,&nbsp;E S Khlystova","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>Embryogenesis of Payer's patches (PP) of the ileum, has been studied in 183 human fetuses 8-40-week-old. Their anlages appear on the 8th-9th week as an accumulation of atypical villi. At first the PP are localized in the cranial part of the ileum, and then spread caudally. Their most active increase in amount takes place from the 15th up to 17th weeks of development. From the 8th up to the 40th weeks the PP amount increase from 10 up to 37. During the same time their length develops from 0.7 up to 8.3 mm, their width--from 0.3 up to 2.2. The first lymphoid nodules++ in the PP are detected on the 14th week, then their number rises from 200 up to 3,500. The superficial area of all the PP, turning into the lumen of the ileum widens from 1.4 up to 620 mm2. Their predominate form is ellipsoid. During the whole prenatal period in the lymphoid nodules++ no germinative centers are revealed. Lymphocytes in the PP are identified in 8-9-week-old fetuses. By the 29th week the whole amount of lymphocytes in them increase up to 9.6 x 10(6) cells. Lymphocytic suspension of the PP of 8-9-week-old fetuses contains 1.7% of T-lymphocytes (E = POK) and 0.1% of B-lymphocytes (EAC = POK). {"title":"[Cellular and fibrillar organization of the locomotor regions of the brain stem in cats].","authors":"T G Kebkalo,&nbsp;V K Berezovskiĭ","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>Cellular and fibrillar organization of the hypothalamic (HLR) and mesencephalic (MLR) locomotor regions of the brain stem has been studied in cats by means of staining the nervous tissue after Nissl and Sokolyansky. Morphometric investigations of neurons in these regions has been performed in frontal and sagittal slices. Within the limits of the HLR ad MLR there are about 45,000 of neurons, which are organized as various nuclei, the MLR cells arranging in them more compactly in comparison to diffusely ++ scattering HLR neurons. Within the limits of the locomotor regions, together with the cells and powerful compact fasciculi of fibers in the tract passing, that is especially specific for MLR, there are also numerous diffusely ++ scattered fibers. Transmissive electron microscopy, electron histochemistry (for estimation of 5'-nucleotidase activity), staining of semithin slices with toluidine blue and aniline++ pink have been applied. Problems on migration of myogenic elements in the developing tongue have been discussed. Ultrastructure of gustatory bulbs of the human fetus tongues has been investigated. {"title":"[Anatomo-topographic characteristics of the masseter muscle].","authors":"A S Artiushkevich,&nbsp;A K Kholodnyĭ","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>The musculus masseter, ensuring movements of the mandible, displace the osseous pieces at its fracture up/down in the lateral and medial sides. Morphometrical investigation of the musculi depressores++ mandibulae has been performed. As a whole 33 corpses (29-78 years of age) of normosthenic++ complexion have been studied. The measurements have been performed by means of a special compasses and a ruler with an approximation to 1 mm and 1 degree. The length of the digastric muscle belly is 55.3 +/- 1.1 mm. The length of the geniohyoid muscle is 44.5 +/- 0.9 mm. The distance between the centers, where the digastric muscle are fixed on the hypoglossal bone is 46.1 +/- 1.1 mm, and on the mandible--25 +/- 9 mm. The width of fixation of the musculus mylohyoideus on the mandible is 52.6 +/- 1.2 mm.
