The work was carried out in albino rats which were subjected to dissection of the external and internal carotid nerves of the cranial cervical ganglion. This operation resulted in death of about 50% of the neurons of the node in question, in 30 and 60% in reduction of the intensity of fluorescence of the neuron body catecholamines within 7 and 14 days. The cause of these changes might be the cessation of entrance of the nerve growth factor from target tissues by means of retrograde transport. After 6-10 exogenous administrations of the latter (10-20 mkg/g of the body weight) 14 days after operation the amount of neurons in the cranial cervical ganglion did not practically differ from that in the group of intact rats. Seven and fourteen days later specific luminescence of the neuron body catecholamines was 24-22% greater than the values found in the operated animals given the isotonic solution of sodium chloride. Parallel stimulation of the formation of a powerful network of collateral branches by injured axons was performed resulting in more considerable (3-fold) increase of the ganglion mass than in the operated animals (2-fold) not treated with a neuro-growth protein. The newly formed fibers had not only an intercellular but also subcapsular arrangement which spoke of higher reparative--regenerative potencies of the neuron.</p>","PeriodicalId":8379,"journal":{"name":"Arkhiv anatomii, gistologii i embriologii","volume":"101 11-12","pages":"12-7"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1991-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"13006815","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The thymus was found to intimately react to DMS. On the 1st day after treatment the lymphocytopoietic function was suppressed, the process of destruction of cells in the organs was intensified, the amount of macrophages and plasma cells was increased. Animals of the III group were given greater doses of DOCA. Experimental neonatal rats had greater absolute and relative masses of the cerebrum and the thicker cortex: in the II group at the expense of enlargement of neurons, greater amount of glioblasts and the volume of neuropile; in the III group--at the expense of still greater neuron sizes, enlargement of glioblasts and their greater number, as well as the growth of the neuropile volume. In the neocortex of the II group of animals processes of proliferation of glioblasts were more pronounced, greater doses and amount of actions of DOCA (III group) being followed by processes of reinforced differentiation of nerve and glial cells. {"title":"[The effect of trauma on the structural-temporal organization of the T-dependent zone of a regional lymph node].","authors":"T S Smirnova","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>Experiments in 238 white mice have shown that after trauma there was a change in the population density (PD) of immune competent cells in the T-dependent zone of the regional lymph node (LN) both in the center of the deep cortex and in the T-territory adjacent to the germinative center. PD of small lymphocytes increases on the 1st-3rd days after trauma and returns to the initial level by the 4th-5th day. PD of mitotically dividing cells, immunoblasts, plasmablasts, immature and mature plasmocytes dramatically decreased on the 3rd day while an inconsiderable elevation of their PD took place on the 1st day in T-territory. The increased PD of small lymphocytes in the regional LN seems to be associated with their intensified release from the injury focus. The suppressed proliferation and differentiation of the plasmocyte line cells is the reaction to operation stress: in the posttraumatic period the spectral composition of fluctuations of PD of cells and parameters of its rhythmical components (both in the center of the deep cortex and in T-territory) were changed. As a rule, there was a displacement of acrophase and lessening of the rhythm amplitude. The general potency of the process after trauma increased. The amount of circadian components in the spectral composition of rhythmicity and their potency increased which speaks of central hormonal influences becoming greater.</p>","PeriodicalId":8379,"journal":{"name":"Arkhiv anatomii, gistologii i embriologii","volume":"101 11-12","pages":"29-35"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1991-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"13006816","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The process of formation of colonies and clusters is inhibited by cells of the yolk sac on the 2nd-4th day of the development, by cells of the liver on the 8th-12th day, of the spleen on the 13th-18th day and of the bone marrow--on the 15th day. The yolk sac cells were found to have most considerable inhibiting influence on proliferation and differentiation of cells on the 2nd day of the development of chicken embryo. The yolk sac cells on the 6th day stimulate the formation of colonies and clusters. The yolk sac, beginning from the 4th day of the development, and the liver release humoral factors promoting the formation of erythroid colonies. The erythroid colonies are formed but when cultivated on the vascular membrane of the chicken embryo; the erythroid colonies are not formed when cultivated in the abdominal cavity of mice.
