These control systems possessed the ability to adaptively construct their own sensors, thereby choosing the relationship between their internal states and the world at large. Devices were built that evolved de novo sensitivity to sound or magnetic fields. Pask's devices have far-reaching implications for artificial intelligence, self-constructing devices, theories of observers and epistemically-autonomous agents, theories of functional emergence, machine creativity, and the limits of contemporary machine learning paradigms.","PeriodicalId":82877,"journal":{"name":"Systems research : the official journal of the International Federation for Systems Research","volume":"10 1","pages":"19-33"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-01-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1002/SRES.3850100305","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"50990838","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The procedures of the profession have generally evolved out of political processes without the systematic guidance of a cohesive conceptual framework. That eclectic approach has produced generally accepted accounting principles that encourage publication of global organizational performance assessments such as net income that have little obvious connection to the concrete processes they purport to describe. The approach, furthermore, allows fragmented and disconnected auditing procedures. This paper presents an interpretive and analytical study of auditing based on observable, measurable entities is developed through living systems theory. This approach provides a means of applying to auditing the well developed investigation methods and procedures of the sciences. 8 refs.","PeriodicalId":82877,"journal":{"name":"Systems research : the official journal of the International Federation for Systems Research","volume":"25 2","pages":"29-40"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-01-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1002/SRES.3850100103","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"50990410","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sequel to this is the second phase which deals with the criticality analysis of the MIS architecture. In this, from a design point of view, it is aimed to identify critical decision units in terms of their direct and indirect informational impact on overall MIS. The methodology also facilitates the identification of varying possibility levels of informational interaction among the decision units. The results provide important inputs for systematic physical system design.","PeriodicalId":82877,"journal":{"name":"Systems research : the official journal of the International Federation for Systems Research","volume":"59 10","pages":"83-105"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-01-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1002/SRES.3850100204","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"50990712","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is asserted that their problematical accessibility to consciousness, their competitive, and especially their pre-emptive dominative character, must be dealt with more directly in order to work educationally toward symbiosis among cultures and between cultures and the biosphere. Both kinds of symbiosis are necessary conditions for our happiness and survival. Some heuristic rules for the appropriate conduct of multi-level, and multi-modal (verbal/visual etc.) learning conversations is examined as a practicable way to cultivate such symbioses. Gordon Pask's formal Conversation Theory prescribes some necessary aspects of such intercourse. Here it is extended and reframed by situating Pask's three leveled CT conversations in the author's seven cybersystemic levels of communication and control.","PeriodicalId":82877,"journal":{"name":"Systems research : the official journal of the International Federation for Systems Research","volume":"75 1","pages":"113-128"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-01-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1002/SRES.3850100314","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"50991026","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
