The nursing employees who have been qualified with Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B. Sc. Nursing), Diploma in Nursing Assistant (DNA) and Female Nursing Assistant (FNA) courses and have undergone 3 years on the job training have been chosen for this study. The study has sampled 120 (30 respondents from each category, respectively) respondents using judgment sampling technique. The primary data have been collected using structured questionnaire constructed by the researcher. The secondary data have been collected from books, journals and websites to add significant impact to the study. Result of the study shows that training has not made significant changes among nursing employees qualified with DNA and FNA when compared with nurses qualified with B. Sc. Nursing and DGNM.","PeriodicalId":80241,"journal":{"name":"Training and development journal","volume":"31 1","pages":"58-68"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87887457","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In contemporary society, rapid changes are taking place in the global market, customers’ requirements and technology. These advances are challenging managers to forecast and respond in a dynamic environment. Such environment mandates continuous adaptation and change by organisations. Knowledge sharing is critical to survive in such environments. In this research study, the researcher has tried to examine the impact of organisational culture on knowledge management (KM) in software development industry so that project work could be carried out effectively. For this study, total 100 engineers from software industries were selected in Indore city. The sampling technique was based on purposive and through correlation and regression the impact was measured.","PeriodicalId":80241,"journal":{"name":"Training and development journal","volume":"56 1","pages":"36-41"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73325778","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Training needs of the managers have been analysed under the dimensions of leadership, interpersonal relationship, patient, superior and management-and personality-related factors. The study has sampled 60 managers from four paramedical areas, namely nursing, pharmacy, medical laboratory and radiography, in private multi-speciality hospitals in Tirunelveli city, Tamil Nadu using both convenient and judgement sampling techniques. Structured questionnaire prepared by the researcher using Likert's 5-point scale has been used to collect primary data. Percentage analysis has been used to understand perception of managers towards various training needs. Mean, standard deviation and coefficient of variation were administered to compare dimensions of training needs analysis. The results of the study proved that majority of the respondents are in need of training almost in all dimensions of training needs discussed in this study.","PeriodicalId":80241,"journal":{"name":"Training and development journal","volume":"331 1","pages":"144-154"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76575968","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With a view to understand the competencies of HR manager in managing employee welfare and development a study was conducted in construction chemical industry, Durotop Construction Chemicals Pvt Ltd, Udupi. Structured questionnaire was used in collecting primary data by administering it to sample respondents and primary data were also compiled from the discussions with the employees of Durotop Construction Chemical Pvt Ltd. Study found no significant influence of designation and experience in responding to the competencies of HR manager though gender partially played a role in giving response. HR manager's competencies in Durotop Construction Chemicals, Udupi seems to be quite acceptable across different categories of employees. The respondents genuinely felt that HR manager in Durotop Construction Chemicals was acting as a welfare officer and taking care of all the laws and regulations. HR managers must have good rapport with the people across sections in the organisation so as to act as a bridge and defence for the management.","PeriodicalId":80241,"journal":{"name":"Training and development journal","volume":"689 1","pages":"10-17"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73729106","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Green city as concept of development have been initiated in several countries in the world with the expectation to contribute to the mitigation of global warming impact. Green City is the city that prioritizes the balance of bio-ecosystem with the environment to create comfortableness for the city residents and visitors (Yunus, 2012). Attributes of green city is related with the concept of sustainable architecture as the effort to minimize the negative impact towards the environment to address environmental problems caused by architectural complications. This paper focuses on the implementation of sustainable architecture in supporting the effort to achieve green city. This research conducted exploration in the aspect of planning and implemen-tation that accommodate the concept of green city in architectural aspect based on the city plan-ning in Surakarta City. This research is conducted in several locations in Surakarta City such as Kampung Iklim Sekip Kadipiro, Selasar Budaya Kampung Jagalan, and Mojosongo. The three locations develop the planning and implementation of design with the principles of low cost, sim-ple technology and low impact to the environment. Those efforts support the program to realize green city through sustainable architecture implemented in the building and simple supporting element of environment with low cost.","PeriodicalId":80241,"journal":{"name":"Training and development journal","volume":"23 10","pages":"5-10"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72484003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
