Electron beams with angular\u0000dispersions of 0.1, 0.5, 1 mrad are considered. The interaction potentials of electrons with the charged crystallographic planes are calculated using the Moliere, Barrett, and\u0000Firsov approximations at a temperature T = 300°K. It is shown that the structure and depth of the interaction potentials depend strongly on the approximation employed. In\u0000particular, in the (100) and (111) planes, a significant contribution to the interaction potential arises from long-range Coulomb terms associated with uncompensated effective charges\u0000of the <span>({text{Ca}}^{2 + })</span>, <span>({text{Sr}}^{2 + })</span>,\u0000<span>({text{Ba}}^{2 + })</span>, and <span>({text{F}}^{ - })</span>\u0000ions. Based on the obtained potentials, the transverse energy levels and the wave functions are numerically calculated, and the spectral distributions of spontaneous radiation are\u0000analyzed. The existence of optimal angular dispersions maximizing the radiation intensity is demonstrated. It is shown that crystals with fluorite structure\u0000provide more efficient spontaneous radiation compared to traditionally used diamond, silicon, and germanium crystals.</p><h3>Graphical abstract</h3><div><figure><div><div><picture><source><img></source></picture></div></div></figure></div></div>","PeriodicalId":789,"journal":{"name":"The European Physical Journal D","volume":"80 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2026-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"148465185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"物理与天体物理","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From the perspective of energy transfer from the 6p[5/2]<sub>3</sub> level, it was preliminarily revealed that the rate of population transfer from the highly excited states generated by the ionization process to the metastable state is limited, which is one of the factors restricting the increase in metastable concentration. In “electron-impact excitation + radiation” I stage, the population of the 6p[5/2]<sub>3</sub> level primarily comes from the electron-impact excitation of 5p[3/2]<sub>2</sub> level Kr atoms. In “electron-impact excitation + radiation” II stage, due to electron collisions with ground state, metastable, and 5p[3/2]<sub>2</sub> level Kr atoms, population of Kr atoms is replenished to the 6p[5/2]<sub>3</sub> level, resulting in a negative slope in the Stern–Volmer plot. The total collisional replenishment rate constant obtained is (0.030 ± 0.003) × 10<sup>–11</sup> cm<sup>3</sup> s<sup>−1</sup>. In “ion–electron recombination” stage, due to the continuous recombination process, the population progressively fills the higher excited states, and the kinetic effects on each energy level tend to be homogeneous. The total collision decay rate constant is (0.0012 ± 0.0001) × 10<sup>−11</sup> cm<sup>3</sup> s<sup>−1</sup>, and the total radiation decay rate constant is (0.0044 ± 0.0006) × 10<sup>7</sup> s<sup>−1</sup>.</p><h3>Graphical abstract</h3><div><figure><div><div><picture><source><img></source></picture></div><div><p>The kinetic process of laser-induced ionization to prepare Kr metastable states</p></div></div></figure></div></div>","PeriodicalId":789,"journal":{"name":"The European Physical Journal D","volume":"80 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2026-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"148380208","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"物理与天体物理","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a compact Sagnac interferometer (SI) is fabricated by twisting a tapered fiber. High-order mode interference in the silica-based SI induces its only response on the temperature with the sensitivity of 8.1 pm/<sup>o</sup>C. Furthermore, by adding multiple polymer microspheres on the Sagnac loop, the fiber-optic sensitivities both in the temperature sensing and humidity sensing are greatly improved because of the high thermal-humidity effect of polymer material and the enhanced multi-mode interference in the SI. Different numbers of UV-glue microspheres are sequentially attached to the Sagnac loop to detailedly analyze their influence on the temperature sensitivity, finally obtaining the highest value of 50.8 pm/<sup>o</sup>C for the case of 2 microspheres. We use the three-body formalism of the molecular three-Coulomb wave with (M3CW*) and without (M3CW) the interference factor, respectively. In these models, the incoming electron and positron are represented by a Coulomb-distorted wave that incorporates its interaction with the target. In the case of N<span>(_2)</span> molecule, the TDCS exhibits oscillatory behavior with the variation in the electron ejection angle for different kinematic conditions. The positions of the binary peak obtained by our theoretical models are well established by the experimental findings, but a deviation is found in the region of the recoil peak. The contributions of TDCS for different orbitals of the molecule to the spectrum of angular distributions at different electron emission energies have also been analyzed. One of our prime motivation is to study the effect of sign of the projectile charge on the TDCS spectrum for N<span>(_2)</span> molecule. A different angular distribution of electron emission is found for the valence states of the molecule because of their <i>s</i>- and <i>p</i>-type characters. We further analyze how the final state interaction influences the angular distribution of the ejected electron as a function of momentum transfer for the H<span>(_2)</span> molecule. Finally, a comparison is made with the measurements in coplanar asymmetry geometry. Overall, good agreement is found between experiments and the present M3CW* theory. Finally, for better understanding of the angular distribution for two homonuclear molecules a surface plot of the TDCS is shown for both the molecules at 250 eV impact energy and 50 eV electron ejection energy.</p><p>Surface plot of the TDCS (in arbitrary unit) obtained from the M3CW* calculation for ejected electron with energy 50 eV from <span>(3sigma _g)</span> orbital of N<span>(_2)</span> molecule by the impact of 250 eV electron.</p>","PeriodicalId":789,"journal":{"name":"The European Physical Journal D","volume":"80 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2026-07-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"148380148","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"物理与天体物理","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, we present a <i>C</i>₄-symmetric topological photonic crystal integrated with a fully connected neural network to achieve robust transmission. By systematically tuning the spatial configuration of cylindrical elements within the unit cell, we facilitate controllable topological phase transitions and observe topologically protected edge and corner states at interfaces between distinct topological phases. Furthermore, a deep learning model is established to predict the influence of structural deformation defects—specifically, the transformation from cylindrical pillars to elliptical ones—on transmission properties, achieving a prediction error on the order of 10⁻<sup>3</sup>. Based on this model, we design and demonstrate a three-channel wavelength-division multiplexer capable of selectively transmitting multiple optical signals while preserving robustness under complex defect perturbations. The dynamics are governed by coupled complex Ginzburg–Landau equations. Using a variational approach, the pulse evolution is modeled with a trial function consisting of coupled soliton-like pulses with time-dependent parameters, augmented by a radiative shelf. This leads to a set of ordinary differential equations describing the pulse dynamics. Stability is examined through an effective potential analysis, which reveals that solitons can become trapped in the minima of the potential well. This suggests that careful tuning of system parameters can mitigate the destabilizing effects of the radiative shelf. To validate the analytical results, we perform direct numerical simulations in Fourier space, taking into account the helicoidal spin–orbit coupling. The numerical findings are in strong agreement with the theoretical predictions, confirming the validity of the stability analysis.</p>","PeriodicalId":789,"journal":{"name":"The European Physical Journal D","volume":"80 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2026-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"148380521","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"物理与天体物理","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
