This is in spite of the introduction of varieties that adapt well to different environmental conditions. The study examined the knowledge level on tomato varieties, assessed the importance and satisfaction attached to each varietal attribute and identified the most preferred cultivar. Purposive and random sampling techniques produced 205 respondents on whom an interview schedule was administered. Descriptive statistics and Pearson's Product Moment Correlation were used to analyze the data. The majority of the respondents were males with a formal education, according to the study's findings. The mean age, years of farming experience, farm sizes and number of extension contacts were 47 years, 17 years, 3.24 acres and three times, respectively. The farmers’ most preferred tomato varieties were Plum (Roma VF) and Grape. The result also shows that attributes that increase the yield and income of the farmers were accorded higher priority. The result further revealed that, at p<0.05, the number of years spent in school, number of extension contacts, farm size, years of experience in tomato farming, years of membership in tomato farmers’ associations and annual income had significant relationships with the farmers’ variety preference. The study concluded that the most preferred tomato varieties in Oyo State, Nigeria, were Plum and Grape. It is therefore recommended that plant breeders and other researchers involved in tomato growing should work to enhance the least preferred varieties. The aim of the study was to obtain a low cost material based on the treatment of fly ash with Fe3O4 for utilization as an adsorbent for cadmium ion removal. The adsorbent that was synthesized was characterized using different techniques. The adsorption process was investigated by the batch technique at room temperature. The quantity of cadmium ion adsorbed was measured spectrophotometrically. The experimental data showed that the material can remove cadmium ions at all three working concentrations. The adsorption capacity increased with an increase in concentration, respectively contact time. The results were analyzed through two kinetic models: pseudo first order and pseudo second order. The kinetics results of cadmium adsorption onto a magnetic material are in good agreement with a pseudo second order model, with a maximum adsorption capacity of 4.03 mg/g, 6.73 mg/g, and 9.65 mg/g. Additionally, the pseudo second order model was linearized into its four types. The sample consisted of 301 eighth grade students and 344 eleventh grade students, distributed in 20 classrooms (10 per grade) from different schools in Havana. A sociometric questionnaire of direct and unlimited nominations was used as a data collection instrument. Garcia-Bacete procedure was used as an identification system for sociometric status. Results showed a profile of success and higher academic performance in white-skinned adolescents from families with high educational level. On the other hand, disadvantages were reflected for black and / or mixed-race students. They were the ones who showed the most discomfort with their educational context. Differences in the reasons for social choice and rejection were observed between eleventh grade men and women compared to eighth grade. These profiles showed how school groups mediate in the establishment of models of success, indifference, ambivalence, and rejection. These resources originate from the family system, mental and physical health providers, and religious/spiritual services that are continuously interacting through culture. Although help providers recognize the impact of other resources on their interventions, they are unclear on how to incorporate other help resources in their practice. Ten mental health patients’ narratives were compiled through in-depth interviews. The aim was to explore the help resources sought, their experience with helpful resources, the reasons to choose them, and their meaning. People reported that the initial help resource they sought was a person they considered a family member and later conventional or folkloric resources. The three help resources demonstrated beneficial and iatrogenic results. In some instances, the help resource used interventions practiced by other resources or had a dual role. The primary reasons to choose a help resource were proximity, referral, and healthcare. In addition, it aimed to examine the factors associated with the reduction of marijuana use in this population. We conducted secondary data analysis with a sample of 8,092 participants who completed Youth Consultation IX. The results show that alcohol (44.5%) continues to be the drug with the highest use among adolescents; However, for the first time, marijuana ranks second (12.1%) among the most commonly used drugs. On the other hand, the results of the binary logistic regression analysis suggest that positive family relationship, negative attitudes towards marijuana use and perception of risk are factors associated with a decrease in the probability of marijuana use. Not like that, the occupation of free time and receiving therapeutic support. This study provides favorable evidence on decrease in risk perception in adolescents, and the possible normalization of marijuana use due to greater accessibility.
