It is associated with epigenetic and genetic causes that occur in early blastogenesis, resulting in 4 classic malformations consisting of omphalocele, bladder/cloaca exstrophy, imperforate anus, and spinal cord injuries. Spina bifida, symphysis pubis diastasis and limb abnormalities may also be observed.\u0000Case presentation: 7-month-old female patient (at the time of writing this report). The mother was from a rural region of Colombia, and this was her third pregnancy, which was at high risk of obstetric complications. The infant was prenatally diagnosed with a caudal folding defect in the abdominal wall and a lipomeningocele. During birth, bladder exstrophy, imperforate anus and spinal dysraphism were observed, leading to a diagnosis of OEIS complex. Relevant interdisciplinary management was initiated.\u0000Conclusions: The OEIS complex is a fetal polymorphic malformation with characteristic signs and defects. Knowledge on its etiopathogenesis, pre-and postnatal diagnosis, genetic counseling, and therapeutic approaches are essential to favor the early treatment of different comorbidities, alleviate acute symptoms, reduce multiple comorbidities and improve the patient's quality of life.","PeriodicalId":73637,"journal":{"name":"Journal of cardiology case reports","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91013761","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Approximately 10% of patients presenting with acute MI do not have obstructive coronary artery disease on coronary angiogram as confirmed in several large Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) registries. A diagnosis of MINOCA can be introduced in patients with consistent features of MI and demonstrated nonobstructive coronary artery disease. With increased utilisation of coronary angiograms and high sensitivity troponin, the identification of MINOCA is encountered more frequently. The long-term clinical outcome and prognosis of this subgroup is not well known or understood. The aim of this retrospective cohort study was to evaluate patient demographics, diagnosis and the 12-month follow-up of 26 inpatients who presented with MINOCA in an Irish tertiary centre. The following inclusion criteria was used in the definition of MINOCA; elevated troponin biomarkers, clinical features of ischaemia (symptoms, ischaemic changes on electrocardiogram, new loss of viable myocardium or wall motion abnormality) evidence of intracoronary thrombus or a non-obstructive pattern angiographically. Acute myocarditis was the most common cause of MINOCA with unobstructive angiography in this cohort of patients. 15.3% (n=4) had a recurrent hospital admission with similar presentation within 12 months of the primary event. Establishing appropriate diagnosis and identifying patient risks is essential to ensure patients receive both preventative therapy and appropriate treatment.","PeriodicalId":73637,"journal":{"name":"Journal of cardiology case reports","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67482720","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its treatment is symptomatic, and although there is no conclusive evidence, it has been associated with the reactivation of the human herpesviruses 6 and 7 (HHV-6 and HHV-7). Case presentation: A 28-year-old woman, from Bogotá, Colombia, ahealth worker, attended the emergency room due to the onset ofsymptoms that began 20 days earlier with the appearance of punctiformlesions in the left arm that later spread to the thorax, abdomen, opposite arm, and thighs. The patient reported a history of bipolar II disorder and retinal detachment. After ruling out several infectious diseases, and due to the evolution of the symptoms, pityriasis rosea was suspected. Therefore, treatment was started with deflazacort 30mg for 21 days, obtaining a favorable outcome and improvement of symptoms after 2 months. At the time of writing this case report, the patient had not consulted for recurrence. Conclusion: Primary care physicians should have sufficient training indermatology to recognize and treat dermatological diseases since manyof them are diagnosed based on clinical findings. This is an atypicalcase, in which the patient did not present with some of the pathognomonic signs associated with pityriasis rosea.","PeriodicalId":73637,"journal":{"name":"Journal of cardiology case reports","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83725397","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
