A good strategy for patients is to belong to an Association, using the services they offer.</p></div><div><h3>Objective</h3><p>The aim of this study was to explore the experiences and perceptions of patients with PD in a Parkinson’s Association.</p></div><div><h3>Methods</h3><p>A sample of participants with PD who met the inclusion criteria was selected through purpose and theoretical sampling. Semi-structured qualitative interviews were used to collect the data, which was analyzed by thematic phenomenological analysis. Different strategies such as triangulation between researchers were used to ensure methodological rigor.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>The data analyzed from 10 participants led to two themes: the context of the Association, where the importance of interdisciplinary treatments and the relationship with other patients is collected; and how they see their future, which describes the future perspectives that patients with PD have.</p></div><div><h3>Discussion</h3><p>Patients agree on the importance of belonging to the Association, feeling part of a group, while benefiting from receiving therapies from the interdisciplinary team. The Association plays a relevant role in the evolution of the disease, as it influences how patients imagine their future. The modes are: Philosophical Mode to conceptualize and obtain generalities about reality, Mathematical Mode to operate with generalities, and Physical Mode to operationally verify, validating the results and the predictive capacity of the model. This MDC allows the creation of three models: Knowledge Model about Person Care, an ontology of care, Vulnerability Model about the person and Taxonomic Triangulation Model for knowledge management. All models generate products for computational knowledge management. In addition, the models are applied in teaching and generate research with more than a hundred participations in conferences and journals, of which five impact publications (from 2008 to 2022) classified in the categories of Nursing and Informatics are analysed.</p></div><div><h3>Conclusions</h3><p>The DCM collects prior knowledge to work with certainties, evidence and applying inferences that do not depend on the number of cases or inductive designs. After one month of the master class on the Infarction Code given to master’s degree (doctors and nurses), an educational intervention was carried out consisting of an Escape Room on the same content, with a questionnaire that collected various sociodemographic data, and a knowledge test on the Infarction Code, which was repeated immediately after the activity and at the end of 2 months after the activity, and a test of knowledge on the Infarction Code. immediately after the activity and 2 months after the master class. Likewise, after the activity, a gamified experience evaluation questionnaire (GAMEX) was completed.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>Thirty-two students received the educational intervention (12 physicians and 20 nurses), and differences were observed between medical and nursing professionals in terms of initial knowledge of simulation and gamification. After the activity, and based on the initial knowledge test, the score increased by 3.49 points, an increase that was also reflected in the test taken two months after the master class, where an increase of 2.08 points was maintained. The participants rated the experience positively, with no significant overall differences between the two professional groups.</p></div><div><h3>Conclusions</h3><p>The nurses had greater knowledge and contact with clinical simulation, virtual reality and gamification. The escape room showed to be a valid method for the assimilation and retention of knowledge in master’s degree students. However, the use of such instruments necessitates methodological rigor and optimization in their design to achieve the best response rates. Drawing upon relevant literature and the international CHERRIES guidelines for the development of online surveys, this article addresses methodological aspects related to ethical considerations and data protection (with reference to the Association of Internet Research's online ethics guide), study design and validation, recruitment, data collection processes, and data management and analysis. This study aimed to determine the levels of depression and self-esteem in women with endometrial and cervical cancer receiving chemotherapy, determine the factors affecting them, and examine the relationship between the levels of depression and self-esteem.</p></div><div><h3>Methods</h3><p>This descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted with 158 women who came to the gynecology-oncology policlinic and chemotherapy unit of a training and research hospital in Izmir, western Türkiye, between April 2022 and April 2023. Data were collected with the “Descriptive Information Form”, “Beck Depression Inventory” and “Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale”. Descriptive and inferential statistics were performed to analyse the association between the study variables.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>In this study, 52.5% of women were diagnosed with endometrial cancer and 47.5% with cervical cancer. Beck Depression Inventory mean total score was 11.28 ± 6.35, and 20.3% of them were at risk of depression (BDI ≥ 17). Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale mean total score was 21.06 ± 3.85, and 97.5% of them had high self-esteem. There was a statistically significant and strong negative correlation between the mean total scores of the Beck Depression Inventory and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (r = 0.723; p < 0.05). It was determined that an increase in the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale mean total score by 1 unit decreased the Beck Depression Inventory mean total score by 1.2 units and was responsible for 52% of the variance (B = −1.192; R<sup>2</sup> = 0.523).</p></div><div><h3>Conclusion</h3><p>It was determined that one-fifth of women experienced moderate/severe depression and the majority of them had high self-esteem. The increase in women's depression levels decreased their self-esteem. Currently, multiple factors contribute to the gap between nursing education and actual practice. Addressing this gap requires a new perspective, not yet adequately represented in the literature, that includes nurses’ perceptions.</p></div><div><h3>Aim</h3><p>This study aims to describe nurses’ perceptions of the knowledge–practice gap in the domains of knowledge, practice, environment, and learning. And it analyzes how nurses’ professional characteristics are associated with their perceptions of the gap in each of these domains as well as the relationships between the domains themselves.</p></div><div><h3>Methods</h3><p>The study used a cross-sectional descriptive correlational design. A sample of 513 staff nurses recruited through a convenience sampling technique provided information on professional variables such as education and experience and completed a Likert-scale survey about their perceptions of the knowledge–practice gap.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>Their answers were found to vary with educational level and history of workshop attendance. Items from the knowledge domain were positively and significantly correlated with items from the environment and learning domains, which were also positively and significantly correlated with each other. However, the knowledge and practice domains were not significantly correlated. In addition to showing correlations among the major domains (or aspects) of the knowledge–practice gap, the study highlights how nurses’ professional characteristics contribute to differences in their perceptions of this gap.</p></div><div><h3>Conclusion</h3><p>These findings can guide hospital-specific measures for bridging the gap.
