{"title":"Classification and registration of multiple congenital abnormalities.","authors":"A Czeizel, A Pázsy, L Telegdi, G Tusnády","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"

The data processing of multiple congenital abnormalities is demonstrated in the Hungarian Surveillance of Congenital Anomalies. Specified dysmorphic syndromes and CA-associations are registered on the basis of notification. Unspecified multiple congenital abnormalities are evaluated on the basis of notified abnormalities. First, a distance-diagnosis is being tried concerning some specified dysmorphic syndromes and CA-associations. Second, the alive babies with unspecified multiple abnormalities are referred to the regional multiple abnormality centre while a detailed post-mortem description is requested from the stillborns and infant deaths with multiple abnormalities. Third, the remaining unspecified congenital abnormalities are divided into 4 categories (obvious, important, dubious and minor) and into 40 groups. Babies with two abnormalities are annually compiled in one table. Babies with three abnormalities are summarized according to the so-called \"cardinal\" abnormalities in different tables. Finally, babies with four or more abnormalities are listed one by one with regard to the leading abnormality in another table. This classification system helps - among other - to recognize known and new syndromes and CA-associations, as well as to monitor a cluster of specific combinations of congenital abnormalities.
","PeriodicalId":72058,"journal":{"name":"Acta morphologica Academiae Scientiarum Hungaricae","volume":"29 4","pages":"377-90"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1981-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"18352176","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"Histochemical demonstration of glucagon and serotonin by a fluorescent method in the rat submaxillary gland.","authors":"E Paulo, P Kovács, B Madarász","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"

The submaxillary glands of young rats were examined in vivo and in vitro. Yellow fluorescence in some cells treated with o-phthalaldehyde was observed and they yielded a positive reaction on staining with phosphotungstic acid haematoxylin indicating the presence of glucagon. These cells were localized between secretory endpieces of the gland. In rats treated with L-5-hydroxytryptophan (L-5-HTP) cells similar in shape and size showed yellow fluorescence after the action of formaldehyde vapour. The results of histochemical studies and ultrastructural analysis seem to indicate the presence of cells similar to APUD endocrine cells in the rat submaxillary gland.
","PeriodicalId":72058,"journal":{"name":"Acta morphologica Academiae Scientiarum Hungaricae","volume":"29 4","pages":"291-8"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1981-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"18026828","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"An argyrophil III method for the demonstration of fibrous neuroglia.","authors":"F Gallyas","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"

The catalytic activity of the fibrous astrocytes in the reaction of silver ions with dissolved reducing molecules is considerably increased by ethylation and a subsequent treatment with NaJO3. As a consequence, in a special physical developer they produce metallic silver at a considerably higher rate than do other tissue elements, making possible their selective demonstration. In freshly fixed materials myelin too is silverized. Sympathetic innervation of the urinary bladder. 膀胱的交感神经支配
E Fehér, J Vajda
{"title":"Sympathetic innervation of the urinary bladder.","authors":"E Fehér, J Vajda","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"

The sympathetic innervation of the urinary bladder was studied by fluorescence microscopy using glyoxylic methods, and by electron microscopy, in the normal state, after extirpation of hypogastric ganglia and administration of 6-hydroxydopamine. In the normal state adrenergic fibres could be found along the blood and lymph vessels, within the muscle layers and synaptizing on the surface of the local nerve cells or with other, probably local nerve processes. After extirpation of the hypogastric ganglia, degenerated axons could be observed in the local ganglia and in the connective tissue of the vessels. Many fluorescent fibres could be observed in the muscle layers, too. Four to six weeks after the operation, the animals were treated with 6-hydroxydopamine and no fluorescence was observed. In the muscle layer several degenerated fibres could be found, occasionally in close relation to the smooth muscle cells. It was therefore supposed that part of the sympathetic nerves originates from the hypogastric ganglia and is responsible for the modulation of the local ganglia and the blood supply of the urinary bladder. The other part emanates from the \"short adrenergic neurons\" and may effect directly the smooth muscle cells.
","PeriodicalId":72058,"journal":{"name":"Acta morphologica Academiae Scientiarum Hungaricae","volume":"29 1","pages":"27-35"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1981-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"17848779","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to their volume and eccentricity, the cells could be classified into three groups. Group I. Small cells. Their volume ranges up to 11,400 micrometer 3. Several of them stain light and are spherical in shape. Group II. Medium cells. Their volume ranges up to 40,00 micrometer 3. Several light-stained cells are seen among them. Group III. Large cells. Their volume is the range of 60,000 to 100,000 micrometer 3, and they are spherical in shape. Electron microscopically, the cytoplasm contains a well-developed rough-surfaced endoplasmic reticulum, numerous mitochondria, Golgi complexes, pigment granules, and interspersed neurofibrils and microtubules. The cells exhibit an ultrastructure varying in size and cytoplasmic density. In some cases, nerve fibres were in close contact with the cell body, but neither pre- nor post-synaptic thickenings could be observed.
","PeriodicalId":72058,"journal":{"name":"Acta morphologica Academiae Scientiarum Hungaricae","volume":"29 2-3","pages":"161-8"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1981-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"18023849","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

AFter experimental traumatization and vascular lesion a similar type of necrosis was encountered. There were, however, differences in the distribution of the necrotic areas and in the position of the fracture-line. In the case of post-traumatic necrosis the fracture line was situated at the border of the intact and the necrosed tissue, whereas in vascular necrosis of secondarily broken bones it was found in the necrobiotic area. Surveying morphometrically the distribution of necrotic areas it was observed that in traumatic necrosis large fields occur on either side of the fracture-line which retained in 95% the nuclear staining of their osteocytes while in vascular necrosis such areas were not seen. On this basis traumatic and vascular necrosis can be differentiated provided the sample is taken from the surroundings of the fracture-line.","PeriodicalId":72058,"journal":{"name":"Acta morphologica Academiae Scientiarum Hungaricae","volume":"82 4","pages":"59-74"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1981-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1001/jama.1960.03030080045009","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"50762719","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
