To meet energy demand, petroleum fuel has been serving the world. The excess use of petroleum sourced fuels would lead to unsustainable situation because of depleting supplies and all the environmental issues which would be responsible for a major deficit in the future. Critical need for looking into new alternative renewable energy resources have resulted in increased interest in the study of alternative fuels such as biodiesel. Consequently, biodiesel is a very promising alternative to petroleum diesel oil and renewable which has the similar properties petroleum diesel. Biodiesel actually is a transesterified fuel which is produced from vegetable oils and animal lipids which has properties similar or better than diesel fuel. Based on various research and demonstration projects it has proven that biodiesel can be used as pure or in blends with conventional diesel fuel in diesel engines without any modifications. The aim of this paper is to review the studies done earlier and to observe the production and fuel characteristics of biodiesel produced from various feed stocks like vegetable oils and waste oils and their effect on CI engine from the viewpoint of performance, combustion and emissions and its sustainability.","PeriodicalId":71630,"journal":{"name":"新能源","volume":"87 1","pages":"176-180"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85583837","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Standard performance tests in a High Performance Computing scenario, against languages like C and FORTRAN yield that Java does perform below par while executing parallel computational logic. This can be owed to slower compilation time of complex logic on a standard JVM, overhead caused due to multithreading references, inability in identifying live objects from the garbage collector for reuse, and unsafe object handling in Remote Method Invocations over a cluster environment. The paper provides a suggestive approach to customizing certain extensions on Java to optimize performance on a High Performance Computation System.","PeriodicalId":71630,"journal":{"name":"新能源","volume":"59 1","pages":"87-90"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75159539","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These devices are used to improve the system voltage profile, stability, Powerflow etc. Distance Relays are unique devices used to protect the transmission line from various faults. The reach of the relay is independent of the type of fault. Distance Relays are very sensitive to the apparent impedance seen by the relay and its zones. When a FACTS device say as TCSC is incorporated into the existing transmission line in order to improve the voltage profile, power flow, stability, etc it introduce problems in distance protection scheme in the measurement of the apparent impedance seen by the relay. Due to this significant change in the apparent impedance seen by the relay, it will lead to the mal operation of distance relay. This paper presents about the maloperation of distance protection of transmission line, when it is compensated by a series compensating device such as Thyrister Controlled Seies Capacitor(TCSC).","PeriodicalId":71630,"journal":{"name":"新能源","volume":"28 1","pages":"52-58"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74525171","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to damp out system oscillation and sub synchronous resonance we are providing STATCOM controller. The modeled SSR is adopted with integrating aggregated doubly fed induction generator-based wind turbine to perform the studies. The potential occurrence and mitigation of the SSR caused by induction generator effects as well as torsional interactions in a series compensated wind generation system are investigated. The auxiliary sub synchronous resonance mitigation in a power system is provided normally by an FACTS device. The device here used for mitigation of Sub synchronous resonance is STATCOM. The performances of the controllers are tested in steady-state operation and also in dynamic conditions during oscillation. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the capability of the controllers for mitigating the SSR, damping the power system oscillation, and enhancing the transient stability margin in response to the sub synchronous resonance oscillation.","PeriodicalId":71630,"journal":{"name":"新能源","volume":"34 1","pages":"32-38"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75843039","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So one of the cheapest and widely used method to improve the voltage profile is to install capacitor banks. They are erected in the distribution substation and are connected to a bus where more number of loads are connected. Nowadays various industries are also using individual capacitor banks in order to get a high quality of power. This paper deals with the importance of capacitor banks in a system and its protection arrangements. The protection of capacitor banks are considered important to avoid mal operation of the relays which may lead to great damage. Two protection arrangements 1) Phase fault protection 2) Earth fault protection are designed and the simulated using Etap7 software.","PeriodicalId":71630,"journal":{"name":"新能源","volume":"56 1","pages":"63-69"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83935547","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mathematical modeling of wind generator is concerned in this paper. To discuss the steady state condition of power systems with wind farms, the stall regulated fixed speed wind generator (SR-FSWG) power flow model is considered. The load flow equations are solved using Particle Swarm Optimization technique including SR-FSWG. The OPF is formulated as a Multi Objective Problem (MOP). The first function is to determine Maximum loadability. While, the second one is cost of generation and the third is voltage deviation at the load buses. We employ IEEE-14 bus system to verify the proposed technique. The result shows that the proposed method satisfies all the three objective function.","PeriodicalId":71630,"journal":{"name":"新能源","volume":"69 1","pages":"9-14"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77812174","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The first approach is called load conditioning, which ensures that the equipment is less sensitive to power disturbances, allowing the operation even under significant voltage distortion. The other solution is to install line conditioning systems that suppress or counteracts the power system disturbances. A flexible and versatile solution to voltage quality problems is offered by active power filters AF. Currently they are based on PWM converters and connect to low and medium voltage distribution system in shunt or in series. Shunt Active Power Filters (SAPF) operate as a controllable current source. The Shunt AF filters can be used in multilevel mode to enhance the power quality. Cascaded multilevel Inverter is used as Shunt Active Power Filter to compensate the voltage sag during the presence of non-linear loads with reduced harmonics. Five level and seven level cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter are used as SAPF. The number of levels in cascaded multilevel inverter is increased to reduce THD. The simulation is carried out in MATLAB/Simulink platform and the simulation results are presented in this paper.","PeriodicalId":71630,"journal":{"name":"新能源","volume":"42 1","pages":"200-203"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75901506","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
