The mostly used extractants around the country are Mehlich-1 (M-1) and anionic resins (AR) and mixed resins (MR). However, there are still controversies in relation to the method that should be used, due to of particularities of each extractor. Therefore, the main objectives of this work was to assess the applicability of films of binary combination between cellulose acetate (CA) biopolymer and calcinated layered double hydroxide (LDH-c), named CAF-LDH-c, as a new extractor of available P in soils. For this, two experiments were set out. In the first one, sub-samples of an Oxisol layer 0-20 cm were used and submitted to increasing doses of total P (0, 250, 750 and 2,250 mg/dm) in the form of monoammonium phosphate (MAP) at different incubation time (5, 30, 60 and 90 d). In the second experiment, samples of 20 soils from different origins and contents of available P were used with distinct chemical and physical attributes. The analysis of available P by M-1, AR, MR, Mehlich-3 (M-3) and CAF-LDH-c extractants was done in both experiments. The efficiency of the extractants was evaluated by Pearson’s linear correlation. The correlation between values of P extracted from soil in the first experiment was highly significant among all extraction methods used, including for CAF-LDH-c. In the second experiment, CAF-LDH-c showed significant correlation (p < 0.01) with M-1, M-3, AR and MR. Thus, the significant correlations of the extractant being tested (CAF-LDH-c) with those usually used indicates the possibility of this new method of routine laboratories for assessing the P availability of for the cultivation of crops.","PeriodicalId":70192,"journal":{"name":"农业科学与技术:B","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67560077","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a locally consumed species with limited economic value. The elucidation of length-weigh relation, condition factor and biological features are of great importance in the determination of the effects of different habitats on particular species. T. tinca is regarded as an important species to be monitored among the fish taxa. This study was intended to study some biological aspects of T. tinca population in Asartepe Reservoir and to compare the results with the available information. The study has been carried out on 131 T. tinca species caught in Asartepe Reservoir between the periods of March 2015-February 2016. The morphometric and meristic properties and the ratio of some diagnostic features to the standard length were elucidated. The highest and the lowest variations observed among the morphometric features were in body length with 21.35% and eye diameter with 8.31%. The corresponding values for the meristic features were pectoral fin unbranched rays with 30.09% and number of vertebrae with 2.68%. The highest percentage relative to the standard length was found in predorsal distance with 56.95%. The age distribution of T. tinca population was between the ranges of 1-9 years of age. The average weight and length were found to be 520.58 ± 207.84 g (103-1,302 g) and 308.68 ± 41.38 mm (190-429 mm). The parameters of a and b of length and weight relation and the correlation coefficient were found to be 0.9692, 3.0522 and 1.6807 ± 0.1264 (1.4199-2.0368), respectively. The results indicate that the growth level of T. tinca population is satisfactory.","PeriodicalId":70192,"journal":{"name":"农业科学与技术:B","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67560131","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this study was to analyze where this price fluctuation comes from and how it affects landscape transformation and forest cover dynamics. Based on both quantitative and qualitative analysis, the study is particularly important because it highlights the underlying causes of deforestation at different international, national and local scales. It also helps to understand that household strategies are dynamic and reflect competition between agroforestry systems, food production systems and forest exploitation systems.","PeriodicalId":70192,"journal":{"name":"农业科学与技术:B","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67560084","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The experiment field was laid using randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications. Random table number was used to allocate sorghum varieties to plots. Among the nine varieties, Samsorg 45 was the best performed variety in agronomic characteristics and yield followed by Samsorg 46 and then Samsorg 40. These three varieties were selected among the nine varieties. The study concludes that Samsorg 40, 45 and 46 have a better attributes of early maturity, yield and higher nutritive value. This will relatively translated to higher income for the farmers. It is therefore recommended that farmers should be sensitized and educated on their planting.","PeriodicalId":70192,"journal":{"name":"农业科学与技术:B","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67560197","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To support the application of that culture, the research aimed to produce dried L. plantarum HL-15 and observe its stability during storage was conducted. Production of dried culture was started by fermentation of L. plantarum HL-15 then centrifuged to get the pellet. The pellet was mixed with filler (rice flour or tapioca) with a ratio 1:1 (pellet:filler (10%), v/v) then dried. The temperature of the inlet and outlet of the spray dryer used were 105 °C and 65 °C, respectively. Dried culture was packaged in aluminum foil and sealed then stored at 4 °C. Results showed that viable cells of dried inoculum with rice flour filler was 11.99 ± 0.01 log CFU/g and dried inoculum with tapioca filler was 11.90 ± 0.04 log CFU/g. Spray dried L. Plantarum HL-15 was proved being able to inhibit the growth of Aspergillus niger. During six months storage, there is a decrease in the viability of spray dried L. plantarum HL-15 either with rice flour or tapioca filler. During four months of storage, there was a decrease in the activity of inhibition of spray dried culture of L. plantarum HL-15 both with fillers of rice flour and tapioca to the growth of A. niger. L. plantarum HL-15 spray dried cultures could be stored at 4 °C for four months for tapioca and five months for rice flour as filler. L. plantarum HL-15 spray dried cultures could inhibit the growth of A. niger so it could be used as a culture for inhibiting the growth of mycotoxin producing fungi in food.","PeriodicalId":70192,"journal":{"name":"农业科学与技术:B","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67560016","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this way, the objective of this work was to produce hybrid films from the combination of cellulose acetate (CA) biopolymer and magnesium and aluminium layered double hydroxides (LDHs) and investigate their performance for phosphate recovery. In this work, the following materials were prepared and characterized: LDH, calcinated LDH (LDH-c), CA film (CAF), CA film with LDH (CAF-LDH) and CA film with LDH-c (CAF-LDH-c). The produced materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis coupled with differential scanning calorimetry and mass spectrometry, attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electronic microscopy. The thickness, H2O absorption (AH2O), stability in H2O and phosphate adsorption of the produced films were evaluated. The adsorption capacity of films was compared to LDHs in powder form. The CAF-LDH and CAF-LDH-c increased film thickness, where CAF-LDH-c was thicker than CAF-LDH. CAF-LDH-c had higher AH2O than the other films, because of its increased thickness and mainly because of the H2O sorption process of these materials. H2O stability of 98.97% for CAF-LDH and 96.81% for CAF-LDH-c suggest the produced films can maintain their structural properties even after a long contact period with aqueous solutions. For the CAF-LDH-c, the maximum adsorption capacity of phosphate, according to the Langmuir-Freundlich model, was 6.98 mg/g. The adsorption value suggests that this film can be used as an efficient phosphorus (P) adsorbent from wastewater or a eutrophicated source.","PeriodicalId":70192,"journal":{"name":"农业科学与技术:B","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67560067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a newly explored crop in Brazil, little is known about its germination ecology and emergence under local conditions. The aim of the present study was to determine the effect of temperature, photoperiod, planting depth and seed dormancy on the establishment of Physalis seedlings. Tests were conducted on two Physalis biotypes from Sertão (Rio Grande do Sul state―RS) and Capelinha (Minas Gerais state). Seeds incubated at 27 °C and 32 °C exhibited high germination percentages of 98% and 96%, respectively. Germination declined when seeds were incubated at 12, 17, 22 and 37 °C. Photoperiods longer than 8 h are sufficient for seed germination, while the absence of light significantly reduces the germination percentage. Seeds should be planted at a depth of 1-2 cm to ensure better seedling emergence. After 18 months of field work, 81% of seeds had germinated and/or been predated prior to assessment, indicating low seed dormancy. As such, ideal conditions for Physalis seedling establishment are planting depth between 1 cm and 2 cm, temperatures ranging from 27 °C to 32 °C and a photoperiod longer than 8 h, with a postharvest seed shelf life of 12 months.","PeriodicalId":70192,"journal":{"name":"农业科学与技术:B","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67559948","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Eighteen rice genotypes collected from Sudan and South Sudan, which were never tested for salt tolerance, as well as two genotypes (FL478 as tolerant check and IR29 as sensitive check) from the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), were subjected to salinity stress at seedling stage. Test was carried out in hydroponic system applying electrical conductivity (EC) 12 dS/m NaCl using randomized complete block design with three replicates. Most of the genotypes showed sensitivity to salt stress; one genotype PIPANFARY RED2 was moderately sensitive and three genotypes MASURY1, MASURY2 and FL478 were tolerant. Salinity significantly reduced leaf dry weight, shoot dry weight, root dry weigh and biomass production (biomass/plant) by 31%, 42%, 60% and 47%, respectively. Tolerant genotypes accumulated low amount (2.52 g/100 g dry weight (dwt)) of Na in the root, whereas highly sensitive genotypes accumulated high amount (3.87 g/100 g dwt) of Na. Tolerant genotypes showed less reduction in K concentration than the sensitive genotypes. Therefore, they maintained lowest Na/K ratio in the shoot (1.47%) than in the root (3.69%) compared to the intolerant genotypes (7.49% and 8.49%). The genotypes that showed tolerance to salinity stress can be used as a source of resistance/tolerance in a breeding program for rice improvement in uplands areas in semi-arid condition.","PeriodicalId":70192,"journal":{"name":"农业科学与技术:B","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67559802","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
