With the use of MATLABs global optimization toolbox, it is possible to run several optimization algorithms on the same problem, and to combine the two stochastic solvers GA and PSO with the gradient based solver fmincon to produce two hybrid optimization solvers. It has been shown that a complex machine design problem with tight constraints and a narrow solution space is difficult to solve for both a GA and for PSO. Both GA and PSO were unable to find the optimal value on their own. Hybrid versions of GA and PSO gave better results. The average minimum costs found with hybrid PSO and hybrid GA were 1.07 and 1.11 times the global minimum. When the integer value was set to the optimal value, the hybrid GA found a mean cost only 1.01 times the global minimum. For both algorithms, it was necessary to increase the population size to improve the fitness functions and reduce the variance.","PeriodicalId":69201,"journal":{"name":"城市设计","volume":"128 1","pages":"711-718"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90281189","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper aims to present a solution for the experiments related to the solar cells field. The presented solution combines the three existing laboratories, namely simulated, hands-on and remote laboratories. The solution put together the software applications Multisim and LabVIEW, the hardware NI ELVIS and the SolarLab board developed by the authors. The choice was based on the easiness of exchanging data between software applications, the speed of creating electronic prototypes offered by NI ELVIS, the large number of lab works on testing and characterization of solar cells provided by the SolarLab board and the easiness of performing remote laboratories using the web publishing tool in LabVIEW. The study was conducted within the solar cells course held for students from Applied Electronics, Physics Engineering and for other courses that have as partial subject the solar cells. The results were obtained based on the feedback from students as well as the correctness in performing lab works by the students. During hands-on and remote labs, the students support the idea of combining classical instrumentation, virtual instrumentation and modern tools, such as SolarLab.","PeriodicalId":69201,"journal":{"name":"城市设计","volume":"22 1","pages":"206-211"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73440094","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The chemical composition and the manufacturing process of these materials determine their magnetic properties. This paper deals with a comparative analysis of the electric and magnetic properties of a broad range of electrical steels and correlates these properties to their chemical composition, in order to select the optimum grade of steel for a magnetic core. The tested samples are electrical steels with Si content in the interval (0.446-3.310)% and Al content in the interval (0.0029-1.260)%. The magnetic tests have been performed with the Epstein frame in quasi-static conditions and measurements of the electrical resistivity have been obtained according to IEC standards. The major hysteresis cycles are presented for each material and their shape are related to the chemical composition. The electrical steel of grade M 140-35 S is the most appropriate for this application.","PeriodicalId":69201,"journal":{"name":"城市设计","volume":"1 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75550926","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Eight examples of these topologies have been studied in detail and compared in different aspects. After a detailed investigation, it has been decided to use zero voltage switching with current doubler and synchronous rectifier phase-shifted pulse width modulation full bridge converter (ZVS-CD-SR-PS-PWM-FB). This converter can be used especially for more load current demand and more compact power supply applications. This topology was analyzed in detail, the design was performed, simulation work was carried out and finally it was tested in detail in the laboratory. The performance of the proposed converter was verified on a 400 W DC-DC converter operating at 100 kHz from 270 VDC input voltage.","PeriodicalId":69201,"journal":{"name":"城市设计","volume":"81 1","pages":"818-824"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74182435","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In most railway traction system applications, light railway vehicle bogie is actuated by two identical induction motors driven by a single inverter. Control of such a system is a hard task because two parallel connected induction motors may not be operated under exactly the same operating conditions at any time due to the slip-slide phenomenon. In order to satisfy good dynamic performance, the field oriented control method tailored with PSO based new method is used. The proposed control technique is based on the strategy that flux level in a motor can be optimized to operate at maximum efficiency for a given load torque and rotor speed. Moreover, a comparative study among master/slave, mean average, and new proposed PSO based control technique is presented and individual speed/torque performances are demonstrated under unbalanced motor loading conditions. The boundaries of PSO variables are limited with efficiency, magnetic saturation and inverter output voltage. This analysis is verified by simulations. Simulation results show that PSO is so efficient in order to find the optimum flux level. The new control technique is superior to the traditional ones in such a way that it has a faster torque response and reduced speed reference tracking error.","PeriodicalId":69201,"journal":{"name":"城市设计","volume":"78 1","pages":"756-761"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84063320","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But at high switching frequencies the switches are subjected to high switching stresses and high switching loss and, also the converter is engaged with the EMI caused by the large dv/dt and di/dt due to hard switching. The combination of proper topologies and switching strategies that are well-known as soft switching techniques can reduce the switching-related problems. This paper presents a simple and cost efficient soft switched boost converter which has two switches with common reference voltage. Since the zero-current turning-off of main switch the proposed technique is suited for insolated-gate-bipolar-transistor. The snubber inductor, which is connected in series with the main switch, reduces the reverse-recovery current and di/dt rate of main diode. This inductor contributes with the other inductor during some modes of operation. This contribution minimizes the total size of the converter. The performance of the proposed soft-switching converter is evaluated by means of simulation.","PeriodicalId":69201,"journal":{"name":"城市设计","volume":"19 1","pages":"63-68"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78956087","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Various rotor cage faults detection techniques for electric motors have been proposed during the last two decades. One of these techniques widely used is the one based on the stator current spectral analysis which is still an open topic of research. This paper focusses on this technique; which has proven to be simple and very practical for broken rotor bar faults diagnosis; but by adding further enhancements; particularly for incipient faults; so as to achieve better diagnosis reliability. The proposed enhancements are the design and realization of a low-pass filter, the development of a maximum localization algorithm and the use of a Hanning window in the PSD estimation. Some experimental results are presented and discussed to highlight the impact and merits of these enhancements on broken bar faults diagnosis.","PeriodicalId":69201,"journal":{"name":"城市设计","volume":"174 1","pages":"81-86"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86967417","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The control strategy takes advantage of the parallel processing capabilities and of the possibility to customize peripherals otherwise impossible by using conventional microcontrollers. A special feature of the presented proposal, is the online adaptable PWM that can be used for the reconfiguration of the control at the beginning of each period and for changing the switching frequency of the inverter. The proposed predictive control scheme is based on a field oriented control scheme, predicting and optimizing the switching frequency on each sample time and aiming to a reduction of the switching losses.
