Microgrid is also a system that can operate in grid-connected mode and islanding (autonomous) mode. The control of distributed power generation units in microgrids is necessary for reliability and continuity of power grid. In this study, control methods applied for microgrid architectures previously were examined. Advantages and disadvantages of microgrid control methods were compared in tabulated form. These comparisons were evaluated for each control system by considering the conditions such as robustness, response rate of the system against parameter changes, stability of the system, elimination of harmonics in the system and having a nonlinear structure of the system. When determining the most suitable control method that can be applied to a microgrid system, it is necessary to consider the performance of the controller in unbalanced systems, sensitivity to parameter change in the system, switching problems, and response time of the system. As a result of this evaluation, it is concluded that controller design is an important phenomena if the location of the microgrid and the system parts to which it is connected have been taken into account.","PeriodicalId":6817,"journal":{"name":"4th International Symposium on Innovative Approaches in Engineering and Natural Sciences Proceedings","volume":"29 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85206290","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, magnitude of the wing’s torsional frequency value and ratio of the torsional frequency to the first body bending frequency value are aimed to be maximized. To perform the optimization process, a parametric wing model is constructed via an in-house Python script. This script draws wing structure, defines material properties, assigns sections, constructs wing assembly, defines interactions, defines boundary conditions, prepares mesh structure and finally performs modal analysis in Abaqus finite element commercial software environment sequentially. Optimization process is accomplished by Mode Frontier optimization software. During the process Multi Objective Genetic Algorithm-2 solver is used. Finally, the optimum rib spacing value is determined for the wing structure.","PeriodicalId":6817,"journal":{"name":"4th International Symposium on Innovative Approaches in Engineering and Natural Sciences Proceedings","volume":"53 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74575141","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Health services aim to improve and maintain health. In order to achieve these objectives, an integrated combination of various activities in which the production of more than one type of output and the consumption of more than one type of resource is aimed is evaluated. In the study, to examine the efficiency of healthcare in Turkey between the years 2010-2014, which is a nonparametric Malmquist DEA method is used. We have used three output variables: life expectancy at birth, health adjusted life expectancy and infant mortality rate and three input variables: number of doctors, number of hospital beds and public health expenditures as percentage of GDP. Findings reveal that there are a number of both developed and developing cities on the efficiency frontier, while the great majority of the cities in the sample are inefficient.","PeriodicalId":6817,"journal":{"name":"4th International Symposium on Innovative Approaches in Engineering and Natural Sciences Proceedings","volume":"57 1-2 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85462897","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although there are many works on the handwritten character recognition (HCR) problem, very few have been done about the offline handwritten source code character recognition. The problem includes the recognition of source code specific characters. We designed and implemented an application, performing preprocessing, histogram based segmentation and normalization on the scanned documents of exam papers which include codes that were written in C programming language. Constructed dataset includes 7093 source code character samples. We enriched this dataset with character samples from the CROHME database by transforming them to offline samples. With resulting 95 classes of 17748 samples, we trained and tested several models of convolutional neural networks (CNN). CNN is a deep learning architecture which is shown to produce state-of-the-art performance rates for handwritten character recognition tasks as well as for various other computer vision applications. Experimental evaluations gave performance rates between 95.43% and 97.49%. We conclude that CNN based classifiers are powerful tools for handwritten source code character recognition task.","PeriodicalId":6817,"journal":{"name":"4th International Symposium on Innovative Approaches in Engineering and Natural Sciences Proceedings","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79219810","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Weights, threshold, inputs and outputs are all complex numbers in the CVANN. The convergence of the CVANN back propagation algorithm depends on some factors such as selection of appropriate activation function, threshold values, initial weights and normalization of data. The most important of these factors is the selection of the appropriate activation function. The selection of activation function determines the convergence and general formation characteristics of the complex back propagation algorithm. In this study, the swish activation function discovered by Google researchers Prajit Ramachandra, Barret Zoph and Quoc V. Le is discussed in the complex domain. Swish activation function, which gives good results in real plane, has been studied in the complex plane. We have compared the performance of swish activation functions on the complex XOR and symmetry problems with other known activation functions. The simulations’ results show that the proposed network using swish activation function, gives the best results when compared to other networks using the traditional complex logarithmic sigmoid and tangent sigmoid activation functions.","PeriodicalId":6817,"journal":{"name":"4th International Symposium on Innovative Approaches in Engineering and Natural Sciences Proceedings","volume":"49 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76377366","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Number of friends, friendship satisfaction and communication skills are some of the important factors. In scientific studies, friendship and peer rejection have unique effects on academic achievement. Besides, it was emphasized that if friendship relations were positive, it was effective on emotional development. However, there are very limited number of studies examining the friendship relationships of university students by using data mining techniques. Data mining is widely used in many different disciplines today. In its most basic definition, data mining is the extraction of meaningful information from a data set. With the increase of computer the capacity and power, studies in the field of data science have become easier. In this study, the association between friendship, age, gender, department and academic achievement was analyzed with the frequently used association algorithm in data mining. Survey method was used to collect data. Rapidminer software, which is popular in the world, was used for data analysis. As a result of the study, it was determined that friendship relations should be taken into consideration in academic success. It is seen that communication quality is effective in school success as well as in social life. Meanwhile, it has been determined that data mining methods can be used effectively in academic achievement of students.","PeriodicalId":6817,"journal":{"name":"4th International Symposium on Innovative Approaches in Engineering and Natural Sciences Proceedings","volume":"57 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81261741","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
