Since depression affects the mental state, the patient will find it difficult to communicate his/her condition to the doctor. Commonly used diagnostic measures are interview style assessment or questionnaires about the symptoms, laboratory tests to check whether the depression symptoms are related with other serious illness. With the emergence of machine learning and convolutional neural networks, many techniques have been developed for supporting the diagnosis of depression in the past few years. Since depression is a multifactor disorder, the diagnosis of depression should follow a multimodal approach for its effective assessment. This paper presents a review of various unimodal and multimodal approaches that have been developed with the aim of analyzing the depression using emotion recognition. The unimodal approach considers either of the attributes among facial expressions, speech, etc. for depression detection while multimodal approaches are based on the combination of one or more attributes. This paper also reviews several depression detection systems that use facial feature extraction methods that use eigenvalue algorithm, fisher vector algorithm, etc. and speech features such as spectral, acoustic feature, etc. The survey covers the existing emotion detection research efforts that use audio and visual data for depression detection. The survey shows that the depression detection using multimodal approach and deep learning techniques achieve greater performance over unimodal approaches in the depression analysis.","PeriodicalId":6804,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Computational Performance Evaluation (ComPE)","volume":"76 1","pages":"407-414"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88007817","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is an algorithm influenced by the habit of bird flocking or fish schooling. The main goal of this paper is designing and evaluating a viable wrapper-based feature selection algorithm. Feature selection can also be viewed as a minimization problem for which PSO can be applied. In this paper, we attempt to introduce a PSO based feature selection method using mutual information (MI). Feature-class MI has been used to select a subset of features based on its relevancy. A wrapper-based method is used to find the productiveness of the method by evaluating with different classifiers in different datasets. The classification performances have been found promising when compared with classifications performed using normal classifiers and PSO method without using mutual information.","PeriodicalId":6804,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Computational Performance Evaluation (ComPE)","volume":"26 1","pages":"280-284"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90581578","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Products with complicated designs demanding lesser weight, improved performance and conformance are manufactured by companies using AM technologies. Some noticeable examples of ducting, airflow system and vent products in the aerospace domain can be seen being made out of AM techniques. One of the benefits being mentioned is the significant reduction in the number of components going into a finished product, thereby impacting the supply chain as well. However, one of the challenges in AM process is to reduce the process variation which affects the reliability of the product. To realize the true benefits of additively manufactured products, it is imperative to ensure that the reliability of AM products is similar or better than traditionally manufactured products. Current state of art for assessing reliability of traditionally manufactured products is mature. However, the reliability assessment framework for products manufactured by advanced technologies are being studied upon. In this direction, this paper highlights a structured reliability assessment framework for additive manufactured products, which will help in identifying, analyzing and mitigating reliability risks as part of product development life cycle.","PeriodicalId":6804,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Computational Performance Evaluation (ComPE)","volume":"11 1","pages":"350-354"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79945678","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
