Abstract
In the research community, there is a growing interest in measuring, monitoring and analyzing the pollutant gases and also reducing the level of air pollution in rural and urban areas. The reasons of air pollution demands the modeling of correlation among various polluted concentrations. The work in this paper presents the correlation analysis between CO and temperature, CO and humidity, toluene and temperature, toluene and humidity, temperature and humidity. The correlation is evaluated by Spearman’s Rank-Order Correlation method. The results show that toluene and humidity have strong positive correlation (0.53047), weak positive correlation between toluene and temperature (0. 19524), no correlation between CO and temperature, weak negative correlation between CO and humidity (-0.20184) and again weak negative correlation between temperature and humidity (-0.29126). Moreover, the work of this paper aims to develop battery aware monitoring system to detect CO, NO2, CO2, temperature and humidity concentration that transfers information via wireless medium. Experimental result shows that by proper setting of ON time to Sleep time, the battery life is increased without disturbing the monitoring activities.
