Several SVMs regression model, such as Fine Gaussian, Medium Gaussian, Coarse Gaussian, Linear, Cubic, and Quadratic SVMs, are implemented and compared. Other than solar irradiance, five other meteorological features, namely average wind speed, air temperature, relative humidity, air pressure, and rain accumulation, are evaluated to determine the appropriate features for the prediction task. The result shows that the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of the prediction model can be reduced up to 9.09% by including either air temperature, relative humidity, air pressure, or rain accumulation as the additional feature to the regression learner. However, the RMSE is increased by 1.29% when the average wind speed is included as an additional feature. Overall, the Fine Gaussian SVM with all the meteorological features except average wind speed has the lowest RMSE of 67.08 Wm−2, which is 23.66% lower as compared to solar irradiance only Medium Gaussian SVM model.","PeriodicalId":6628,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON)","volume":"4 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88869851","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays, photovoltaic (PV) system's energy, based on sunlight is most widely used energy source. The efficiency of the PV system will change with the change in parameters like voltage, current and temperature due to its non-linear PV characteristics which may be overcome with the help of controllers at different stages of operation. In this paper, the Simulink model shows the behavior of solar power fed 3-phase, 5 HP induction motor (IM) at different load conditions along with the additional load of 150 kW present in the system. A PV array with maximum power of 262 kW along with Boost Converter and 3-phase inverter has been simulated. The maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller has been implemented in order to extract the maximum power from the PV array. A closed loop controller has been implemented to control the 3-phase inverter according to the load conditions. The results related to the behavior of 3-phase induction motor drive and PV system at different stages of operation has been discussed","PeriodicalId":6628,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON)","volume":"64 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87100364","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents the 3D solid modelling and mathematical representation of a two wheeled self-balancing mobile manipulator robot for attaining dynamic stability. Unlike other multi-wheel robots., this intelligent robot has very smaller foot prints which helps to rove in a narrow gap and can also spin on the spot. But as it is statically unstable it is quite challenging task to stabilize the robot”s body posture as well as to control its trajectory during navigation. Hence the dynamic system modelling of the two wheeled mobile manipulator is established through a linear electrical model of the DC motor and inverted cart model by state space representation. During motion., data acquisition relating to the angular tilt is obtained from an IMU sensor and the sensory noise is minimised by the implementation of Kalman filter. Finally., a PID controller is implemented which regulates the position and orientation of the robot for attaining dynamic stability.","PeriodicalId":6628,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON)","volume":"36 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87519738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a conventional structure that has a source, a gate, a drain and a substrate or body terminal which fabricated by standard CMOS process. It detects the horizontal y-direction magnetic field in parallel and perpendicular to currents. The device is biased for channel current and substrate current. The mechanism is Hall Effect in current mode. The induced Lorentz's force deflects currents between drain current and substrate forward current causes output differential current. The relation shows linearly dependence between magnetic field density and output differential current. The relative sensitivity depends on amount of bias currents.","PeriodicalId":6628,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON)","volume":"29 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85392252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The experiment was performed on low voltage $pmb{(0.6/1mathrm{kV})}$ XLPE cables with three different cases of defect, case 1: conductor cladded with small and thin copper strip, case 2: conductor cladded with thin plastic ring, and case3: conductor cladded with plane paper strip. The results illustrated that breakdown voltage tends adversely to polarization current in all test cases. When the polarization current was increasing, the breakdown voltage was decreasing. Whereas the polarization current was decreasing, the breakdown voltage was increasing. It was also found that defective cable with thin copper strip has the lowest breakdown voltage whereas one with plane paper strip has the highest breakdown voltage.","PeriodicalId":6628,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON)","volume":"1 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82932541","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The wind power generation mainly depends on the wind speed, which is uncertain in nature. To tackle the uncertainty related with wind energy, the 2m point estimate method is used. A test system has been taken to justify the ability to solve problems as well as to examine the effect of wind energy in a hydrothermal system.
