Two-dimensional (2D) arrays of Ni nanoparticles with uniform sizes and narrow interparticle distances were fabricated on laser-interference patterned silicon substrates. In this work, various types of graphite anodes mixed with 10 wt% silicon nanoparticles were fabricated in view of film thickness and mixing ratio of binder materials. Additionally, free-standing structures were generated on silicon/graphite electrodes by applying ultrafast laser ablation. The mechanical stress within the electrodes can be significantly reduced by means of laser generated artificial porosity. Galvanostatic and cyclic voltammetry measurements reveal that the cells with structured electrodes exhibit excellent electrochemical properties and improved lithium-ion transport kinetic in comparison to cells with unstructured electrodes (reference). Furthermore, cell impedance was investigated by applying electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Fresh cells with structured electrodes indicate a lower impedance only at full lithiated state. However, the suitable thin film is still hardly available because of the high viscosity material, limiting the performance of final products. Herein, a direct writing method based on the micro pen was proposed to prepare an electrolyte film with several microns. First, uniform thin polymer lines were written to test the stability of the propose a method. Then, the relations between those parameters and the film thickness measured by the optical profilometer were obtained. The microstructure of the sample surface and surface wettability were observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and OCA20 video optical contact angle measuring instrument, respectively. It was found that the change of groove structure and size on the surface of aluminum alloy material was the main reason for the changes of hydrophobic properties. In addition, the increase of oxygen on the surface of the material was also one of the reasons for its increased hydrophobicity. The groove structure with larger width and depth can be achieved by increasing the power of laser. The as-deposited films are transparent, specula reflective and homogenous. Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy indicated that films were in near stiochiometric Zn:Se ratio. Measured by spectroscopic ellipsometry, thickness of 50~370nm film can be obtained, the ZnSe were in nano-films, morphology and the film formation process discussion indicated that the film grow through nano-cluster by nano-cluster deposition rather than ion by ion mechanism. Laser treatment of zirconia has been carried out for investigating the surface wettability with different processing parameters. Morphological and metallurgical modifications are examined in the laser treated layer by using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The contact angle (CA) and surface roughness also have been measured. It is found that the micro pits and cracks is produced, and the melt of material is splashed on the surface of untreated surface, forming irregular bumps during laser processing, the surface morphology become more complex than the expected surface structure. The dependency of water contact angle of surface by laser treated with time is attributed to the modification of surface chemical composition, especially the change of carbon content and oxygen content. Poisson-Nernst-Planck-Stokes simulations demonstrate that ion conductance in nano-channels is influenced by the interplay between convective flow and concentration polarization. The extending degree of the ion depletion zone inside the channel is found to be improved at a forward pressure, resulting in a lower ionic conductance and vice versa. Furthermore, the ionic selectivity is increased (or decreased) by a positive (or negative) pressure in comparison with the case driven by electro-osmosis only. The environment friendly nanocomposite adsorbent CNTs/SA was prepared using carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and sodium alginate (SA) as raw materials. They were fabricated by a simple physical blending method, and then the uniform CNTs/SA nanocomposites were obtained by freeze-dried method. The achieved CNTs/SA nanocomposites were used to study the adsorption property of methylene blue. The experimental results showed that the adsorption ability of the nanocomposites increased with the increase of the amount of CNTs/SA nanocomposites. Furthermore, with the increase of contact time, the amount of adsorption of methylene blue also increased. The pH also had a certain influence on adsorption capacity, the higher pH, the better absorption ability. In addition, the adsorption rate is negatively correlated with temperature.
