Tag-based picture hunt is an important strategy to discover pictures contributed by social media users in such social sites. In this paper, we propose a social re-positioning framework for tag-based and feature based image retrieval with the thought of image significance and assorted qualities. In social media network, measuring the relevance of tags with respect to the visual, semantic and view contents is a critical task. We go for re-positioning image, concurring to their visual data, semantic data and social pieces of information. This framework gives the potential of tag relevance fusion for real-world deployment.","PeriodicalId":6581,"journal":{"name":"2017 8th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT)","volume":"98 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89733415","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The K fading model describes accurately composite multipath/shadowing fading channels which is a much more accurate model for real-world environments. A probability density function (PDF) based approach has been used to derive the ABER for different binary coherent and non-coherent modulation schemes and capacity of the system. The obtained analytical results are matched perfectly with the Monte-Carlo simulated results. The obtained expression can be used as a good tool to assess the performance of the diversity system over composite fading channels.","PeriodicalId":6581,"journal":{"name":"2017 8th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT)","volume":"8 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89950281","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They can be used in a variety of fields ranging from security and authentication services to content based information retrieval and also criminal investigations. Gender detection has started to gain importance because of the fact that recent studies conducted showed that the performance of gender dependent speech recognition models performs much better than gender independent models. In the proposed work, we aim to build such a system involving perceptual audio features such as pitch and tempo based features, short time energy etc., which are used to train classifiers to differentiate between the two classes of gender. We have selected such a combination of features as because previous works focused only on either pitch approach, MFCC approach etc., whereas our work is perhaps one of the first involving a combination of several such perceptual features. The system was tested on a wide range of speech files and was shown to be yielding promising results.","PeriodicalId":6581,"journal":{"name":"2017 8th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT)","volume":"5 1","pages":"1-7"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86689515","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The inertia weight parameter in the algorithm is very important as it balances the exploration and exploitation of the algorithm. Many variations of the parameter have been reported in the literature where a linearly decreasing inertia weight was found to be the best choice for most of the problems. In this work we have used several non-linear variations in the inertia weight (not used earlier) and developed the algorithm for the image registration problem of two mutually translated images. For each run of the algorithm, the increments of fitness function and hence the convergence of PSO is carefully monitored and compared with standard parameters.","PeriodicalId":6581,"journal":{"name":"2017 8th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT)","volume":"11 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86648907","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Customer preferences, options and experiences can be analyzed through social media, reviews, blogs and other online social networking site data. However, due to increasing informal usage of local languages in social media platforms, multi-lingual or code-mixed data is fast becoming a common occurrence. Mixed code is generated when users use more than a single language in social network comments. Such data presents a significant challenge for applications using sentiment analysis and is yet to be fully explored by researchers. Existing sentiment analysis methods applied to monolingual social data are not suitable for code-mixed data due to the inconsistency in the grammatical structure in these sentences. In this paper, a novel method focused on performing effective sentiment analysis of bilingual sentences written in Hindi and English is proposed, that takes into account linguistic code switching and the grammatical transitions between the two considered languages. Experimental evaluation using real-world, code-mixed datasets obtained from Facebook showed that the proposed approach achieved very good accuracy and was also efficient performance-wise.","PeriodicalId":6581,"journal":{"name":"2017 8th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT)","volume":"23 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88664598","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The flow control loops often employ pneumatic control valves as the final control element. These control valves suffer from various nonlinearities and stiction is most common of these. Due to stiction effect in the pneumatic control valves, the commonly used proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller introduces limit cycles in the flow control loops, which essentially deteriorates the productivity of the industrial environment. To curb such non sinusoidal oscillations in these control loops, recently two novel controllers have been proposed namely, Stiction Combating Intelligent Controller (SCIC) and Nonlinear Proportional Integral Controller (NPIC). These two controllers have been earlier thoroughly evaluated for flow control studies and are claimed to be very efficient for curbing the limit cycle behavior in the control loops. However, a comparative study between them is missing for the same, which would fill the void existing at present. This paper addresses the same issue and a comparative study between the two controllers is performed and presented in this paper for the setpoint tracking, disturbance rejection and parametric uncertainty problems.","PeriodicalId":6581,"journal":{"name":"2017 8th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT)","volume":"39 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81089748","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, context aware recommender systems are used for providing recommendations. As recommender systems suffers from cold start, sparse data and scalability problems. Therefore, artificial neural networks (ANN) are used to solve these problems. But, training of ANN again takes a very large time, due to high dimensional features. Hence, feature subset selection is done to solve this problem. But, it is a kind of combinatorial optimization problem, which could be solved by using Ant Colony Optimization (ACO). ACO with heuristic function as fuzzy values obtained after applying fuzzy c means clustering algorithm over movie lens data set provided optimum results. Back propagation algorithm has been used, for the training of neural network, only on those features which are obtained after applying modified ACO along with roulette wheel selection algorithm. Results are analyzed by providing ratings of those movies which are not provided in “movie lens data set” yet, as a solution to cold start problem. Finally, the accuracy of recommender systems is calculated by determining mean absolute error and comparison is provided with other previous approaches for different data sets.","PeriodicalId":6581,"journal":{"name":"2017 8th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT)","volume":"59 1","pages":"1-7"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82690152","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present paper exhibits a comprehensive architecture pertaining to video transmission in connection with Wireless Multimedia Sensor Network (WMSN) called Energy-efficient and Video transmission Architecture. The inclination towards usage of video-based Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) applications has showed significant gains. Video WSN behaves quite differently from the traditional sensor networks in the sense that it involves a sensing model (directional in nature), an in-node processing which is complex and transfer of large amount of data, thus resulting in frequencies which are high clock and transmission time (radio) which is significant in nature. To ensure reliability of applications, energy consumption reduction is a prime requirement. In this paper, we have come up with a novel energy conservation technique which hinges on Barrier Coverage Preservation rather than Blanket Coverage.","PeriodicalId":6581,"journal":{"name":"2017 8th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT)","volume":"128 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88740518","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Generally, the underwater images are whisked by blurring effect, scattering effect etc. because of poor lighting condition. EMD is a signal decompose algorithm which is particularly useful for non-stationary and non-linear signals. First of all, the image is processed through the Gray World technique which is a white balance approach to enhance the contrast of the image and to remove the unwanted color cast in the image. Then, each R, G and B channel of the resultant image is decomposed into its Intrinsic Mode Functions(IMFs). Final enhanced image has been constructed by combining the IMFs of each channel with different optimised weights. The EMD algorithm is implemented on the resultant image of White balanced process to restore the color. Our experimental results enhance the contrast of the image by reducing noise as well as artifacts in the image. To show the quantitative enhanced result, Gray Level Cooccurrence Matrix(GLCM), Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR) and Mean Square Error(MSE) are calculated and compared with different conventional enhancement methods. The proposed method results in superior enhanced image with increased visual quality compared to conventional methods.","PeriodicalId":6581,"journal":{"name":"2017 8th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT)","volume":"16 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90399656","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
