The dependence of synchronization frequencies on the frequency detuning between the two counter-rotating oscillators, the insertion loss and delay of the coupling SAW delay line are analysed. The sensitivity for SAW coupled counter-rotating oscillators system is compared with SAW coupled co-rotating oscillator system for the similar range of system parameters to understand the effect of rotation of oscillators. The preliminary analyses show that the rotation direction of the two oscillators in a SAW coupled oscillators system emerges several interesting features to make this system more appropriate for sensor applications.","PeriodicalId":6520,"journal":{"name":"2015 2nd International Symposium on Physics and Technology of Sensors (ISPTS)","volume":"96 1","pages":"30-34"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81110661","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the heater probe described in our earlier work the power consumption was 350 mW-the lowest in this category of sensors. In this paper, by employing a material selection method, we further improve the performance of the sensor by employing Parylene-coated nichrome wire and different packaging methods. The power consumption is reduced to 165 mW with a temperature rise between 1 K to 6.2 K degrees in 34% wet and dry red soils, respectively. A variant of the nichrome sensor was one that employed a ceramic tube with four longitudinal holes that eliminated the need for Parylene coating. The sensor was verified in agar agar solution and calibrated with 1200 kg/m2 red field soil. The compact packaging of the nichrome heater allowed us to provide a heat distribution of 3267 J/m on the probe surface which is two times more than the earlier attempts.","PeriodicalId":6520,"journal":{"name":"2015 2nd International Symposium on Physics and Technology of Sensors (ISPTS)","volume":"127 1","pages":"283-288"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82899260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Every application of EIT demands specific requirements from the instrumentation which is used to gather surface potential data from the object to be inspected. Key issues regarding design and choice of instrumentation are discussed in this paper. A data acquisition system for EIT is designed, developed and tested for certain conductivity range and adjacent excitation adjacent measurement strategies. The preliminary results show agreement with the reported data. The simple and low cost hardware developed in this work is useful for acquiring complete data set required for image reconstruction in EIT. The discussion regarding key issues in designing EIT instrumentation will be useful while developing any new application of EIT.","PeriodicalId":6520,"journal":{"name":"2015 2nd International Symposium on Physics and Technology of Sensors (ISPTS)","volume":"71 1","pages":"97-101"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86282816","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence there is a need to add additional circuitry in between the output of the MEMS sensor and the interface circuit. In this paper the authors have compared two combinations of modulator / demodulator circuitry which can be used in the readout circuitry for any MEMS sensors. The two combinations are Gilbert multiplier as modulator and demodulator and the second one is Gilbert Multiplier as Modulator and Chopper circuit as demodulator. A detailed analysis of the two combinations is presented in the paper. The simulations were carried out using gpdk 350nm technology file in Cadence tool. The layout has been generated for each block and DRC and back annotation has been done to note overall circuit delay as 118ns.","PeriodicalId":6520,"journal":{"name":"2015 2nd International Symposium on Physics and Technology of Sensors (ISPTS)","volume":"126 5","pages":"264-267"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91473302","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Seeking alternatives not containing In and Ga, the related thin film solar cells (TFSC's) material is Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS), which has drawn much attention during past few years because of their easy processing ability, high efficiency at low cost, and environmental eco-friendliness. Moreover, CZTS is composed of earth-abundant elements; it has optical absorption coefficient (105 cm-1) and direct band gap energy (1.0-1.5 eV). Recently, preparation of CZTS NCs have attracted extensive attention due to an ease of simple and low-cost solution based processes, low-processing temperature, better homogeneity, Roll-to-roll manufacturing and flexibility in substrate choice. In addition, solution-processed semiconductor NC-based solar cells represent an alternative to organic solar cells because of their superior stability over organic materials. Many groups have reported the synthesis of CZTS NCs using variety of methods such as precipitation, solvothermal, hydrothermal and hot-injection. However, the use of different toxic and hazardous organic solvents in huge amount for CZTS NCs preparation is not at all acceptable in the context of green synthesis. Therefore, it is great need to develop a substantial route towards more benign synthetic recipes for the preparation of CZTS NCs. In the context of today's greener synthetic strategies need, our group has focused on the preparation of CZTS NCs using low-cost and environmentally benign solvents by various methods such as microwave, hydrothermal and hot-injection. With this surge of developing robust and eco-friendly strategies, we can expect major breakthroughs in developing economically viable TFSCs technology for solar energy harvesting to meet a global clean energy demand.","PeriodicalId":6520,"journal":{"name":"2015 2nd International Symposium on Physics and Technology of Sensors (ISPTS)","volume":"87 1","pages":"I-I"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76379780","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
