In experiment condition, several chemical analytical reagents were used to synthesize the lead analog of ettringite {Pb6[Al(OH)6]2ldr3SO4ldr26H2O}, Ca-Pb ettringite {(Ca,Pb)6 [Al(OH)6]2ldr3SO4ldr26H2O} and plumbite ettringite {3CaOldr Al2O3ldr3CaPbO2ldr31H2O}. The results showed that the lead analog of ettringite and the plumibte ettringite couldn't be synthesized, while Ca-Pb ettringite could be made. This indicated that Pb(II) couldn't be chemically entrapped by ettringite when divalent calcium or sulfate was absent in liquid phase. However, Pb(II) could entrapped into ettringite lattice when calcium ions existed in liquid phase to formed Ca-Pb ettringite. The X-ray diffraction patterns of Ca-Pb ettringite were significantly different from that of Ca-ettringite, indicating that ettringite' lattice been varied after accommodating divalent lead. Experiments on Pb(II) solidified by 100% type I clinker showed that the XRD patterns of the paste at 7-day storage period changed after they doped divalent lead, These further confirmed that Pb(II) could be entrapped into cement minerals including ettringite.","PeriodicalId":6430,"journal":{"name":"2009 3rd International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering","volume":"191 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-06-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73613071","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The chitosan-alginate complex films have been prepared here by blending. Intermolecular interactions in chitosan-alginate complex films have been examined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), viscometry, mechanical measurements. It was found that the -OH , the -NH2 groups, and the amideⅠ ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ characteristic absorption bands in FT-IR spectra of chitosan and algiante blends were shifted. The films exhibit different mechanical properties depending upon the ratio between two polysaccharides which take opposite charges. The mechanical measurements of films and some physical property results showed that intermolecular interactions varied with different chitosan content. Blending of chitosan and alginate may give the possibility of producing new materials for potential biomedical applications.","PeriodicalId":6430,"journal":{"name":"2009 3rd International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering","volume":"1 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-06-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85445788","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The samples of ash came from circulating fluidized bed calcium-based sintering flue gas desulphurization system of 60 m 2 sintering machine. Based on the component of raw ash and modified ash (changed its component under fixed temperature), batches containing SFGDA ash , granulated blast-furnace slag (GBFS), steel slag, clinker and other admixture for cementing materials were prepared. Specimens were molded using hydraulic press, and their soundness, hydration properties, mechanical properties were determined, micrographs, durability including Acidoresistance, Sulfate resisting , Freeze-thaw resistance and dry shrinkage were studied in accordance with different conserving periods. The results indicate that the batches containing modified SFGD ash up to 20%, steel slag steel 11% to 44%, GBFS 12% to 44%, reducing water agent 0.5%, clinker 23% and CFII 1.5% by mass, meet the cement standard with steel slag and GBFS (GB13592-92, in China). The SFGD ash after modified, when mixed GBFS), steel slag, clinker and other admixture, has necessary requirement to be used as a raw material for production of cement. And the additive of shrinkage reducing agent or expansion admixture should be selected to put into the materials to improve the property in the future.","PeriodicalId":6430,"journal":{"name":"2009 3rd International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering","volume":"19 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-06-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85783500","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cyclosporin A (CSA), a special inhibitor of MPT, were pre-incubated with cells before ultrasound treatment, as well as fructose and pyruvate, respectively. Cell viability was measured by trypan blue dye exclusion test. The apoptosis was assessed by phosphatidylserine externalization and DNA fragmentation. The pattern of the decrease in mitochondrial trans-membrane potential (DeltaPsi m ) was determined by flow cytometry. The optimal apoptosis with minimal lysis was attained with ultrasound at 5.0 W/cm 2 for 1 min. In addition, apoptotic cells increased with increasing incubation time post-treatment and peaked at about 12 h. CSA maintained DeltaPsi m and reduced ultrasound-induced apoptosis, indicating MPT as the molecular mechanism required for apoptosis induced by ultrasound. Moreover, fructose supplementation also maintained DeltaPsi m and reduced ultrasound-induced apoptosis, while pyruvate didn't. It revealed glycolytic products of glycolysis, rather than those produced in tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, were responsible for the reduction of apoptosis.","PeriodicalId":6430,"journal":{"name":"2009 3rd International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering","volume":"147 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-06-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86027803","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But direct applications are often hampered by the problem of quantile regression planes' crossing in finite sample cases. After research, the Box-Cox transformation is used to avoid the crossing problem. Integrating Box-Cox transformation with quantile regression, we suggest a new method. The CPR technology described in this paper was active compression-decompression CPR with enhanced external counter-pulsation and inspiratory impedance threshold valve (AEI-CPR). A genetic algorithm (GA) was applied on an established mathematical model of human circulatory system to obtain optimum control parameters of external force for AEI-CPR. Three groups of optimal control parameters were found after running the algorithm for three times. The average number of model running was 149. Obvious hemodynamic effect was attained when the frequency of compression was about 110 min -1 and the lower limbs compression began at the end of chest compression.","PeriodicalId":6430,"journal":{"name":"2009 3rd International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering","volume":"43 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-06-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78465503","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
