The effects of curing conditions and polymer — cement ratio on the compressive and flexural strengths of acrylic emulsion polymer-modified concrete reinforced with steel fibre were investigated. Combined dry and wet curing enable to developed both the strengths of cement matrix and acrylic emulsion polymer together. Inclusion of acrylic emulsion polymer at a certain polymer-cement ratio with steel fibre as reinforcement improves the bonds between the cement matrix and steel fibre due to the acrylic emulsion polymer forms in the cement matrix. In addition, acrylic emulsion polymer modification can significantly improve the flexural strength of the normal steel fibre reinforced concrete. Compared with steel fibre reinforced concrete, the compressive strength of the acrylic emulsion polymer-modified concrete reinforced with steel fibre can increase gradually even after 28 days. The mixtures are tested, both in fresh and hardened states and to meet practical and technical requirement of SFRPMC. The results are analyzed using the Taguchi experimental design methodology. The best possible levels of mix proportions are determined for maximization through compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, flexural strength and modulus of elasticity. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is performed on the measured data and S/N (signal to noise) ratios. In this paper: first of all, using Lambert's model, the power received at the receiver via single reflection propagation inside the cabin was modeled. Then, the free space loss which depends on distance and height of transmitter and receiver from ceiling was calculated. Thirdly, in order to estimate the multipath power penalty, from the impulse response model, the delays spread dispersions and mean delays, which are related to reflection patterns and the distance between transmitter and receiver were derived and modeled. Finally, ceiling bounce model was developed to obtain the impulse response and 3dB cut off frequency. The voltage follower can drive ± 0.25 V to the 500 Ω with the total harmonic distortion (THD) of 0.4% at the operating frequency of 1 MHz. Exon-skipping through the use of antisense oligonucleotides has served as a promising therapeutic approach for DMD, and clinical trials in DMD patients are currently underway. Recently, stable and less-toxic antisense oligonucleotides have been developed with a higher efficacy in mouse and dog models of DMD. Despite these advancements, this therapeutic approach is limited by relatively poor systemic delivery of antisense oligonucleotides to muscle, as well as toxicity effects. Both natural and manufactured beverages may contain a small amount of alcohol (specifically ethanol) as sugar based food is fermentable into alcohol. Therefore, Muslim consumers must be aware that the allowable percentage of alcohol to exist in the food as mentioned by the Shari'ah is only 0.01%. The main inspiration of this work is to develop a low cost yet reliable alcohol percentage detector for non-alcoholics beverages. The optical properties of beverages that respond to the infrared radiation in the optical wavelengths and frequencies range are thoroughly studied. In the proposed model, percentage of ethanol in the beverages is directly determined by using the first derivative of near-infrared (NIR) absorbance spectrum where the range of wavelength used is from 1680 nm to 1700 nm. By making suitable assumptions of the NIR technique, the alcohol detector system was designed, modeled and simulated by using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Visual Basic. Taking a discrete time form for the system model, an ARX model structure was selected in this work. The real-time data acquired using a Contact Multimeter Probes via NI data acquisition system from a Brushless Direct Current motor. A Pseudo-Random Binary Sequence has been used as the input signal to determine the open-loop model of brushless motor at determined speeds. Input signal and measured data were interfaced to the plant via Matlab programming. Matlab toolbox was used to obtain the estimates model. The supercapacitor system has been interfaced with the wind generation system through a STATCOM. Decoupled P-Q control of STATCOM is implemented by introducing suitable transformation on its injected current. The controller parameters are obtained through a search based optimization technique. The effectiveness of the STATCOM supercapacitor energy storage was examined for very low voltage situations. Simulation studies demonstrated that the STATCOM supercapacitor control can achieve significant withstand capability for reasonable low voltage duration.
