By a ligand exchange method, the oleate-capped NCs could be changed to citrate-capped samples which can be dispersed in polar solvents. By the relation between the measured emission lifetime and effective refractive indices of the composites containing NCs, the local field effect was investigated. We have been synthesized single-stranded DNA-conjugated poly(ethylene) glycol-phospholipid (ssDNA-PEG-lipid), which is the amphiphilic conjugate of PEG-lipid and single-stranded DNA and examined as a cell adhesive. New methodology using ssDNA-PEG-lipid as a cell adhesive will be presented. It enables to display cells in certain area on a glass plate and to regenerate 3D tissue using cells as building blocks (cell LEGO). The ssDNA-PEG-lipids spontaneously anchor to the lipid bilayer of the cell membrane. The ssDNA which is presented on the cell surface can be used as an adhesive to immobilize cells on various surfaces. Various patterns can be drawn on glass plates using cells along the patterned aaDNA. Solutions of ssDNA-SHs were printed by an inkjet printer onto a glass plate covered with a gold thin layer. ssDNA-SHs were immobilized onto the surface. These transducers are less than 20 um in size, stable, self-aligned and fiber connectorized. Silicon-on-insulator (SOI) fabrication, operation at standard telecom wavelengths and design separating optical and mechanical parts enable a variety of applications. We read out picogram-scale nanomechanical probes for high speed atomic force microscopy (AFM). Substantial quasi-static deflections of ±10° are provided by vertical comb drives in vertical direction in contrast to resonant horizontal scanning of the 2.6×3.6mm elliptical mirror at 1600Hz and 80° FOV. For the accurate alignment of the optical fibers, the bias spring with the reversely tapered profile is newly introduced realizing the high transmission ratio. Infra-red absorption spectrum is measured for obtaining the molecular information.
