Artamonov","doi":"10.1134/S0021364025607687","DOIUrl":"10.1134/S0021364025607687","url":null,"abstract":"<p>The physics of high-<i>T</i><sub>c</sub> superconductors, which has been a major topic in condensed matter physics for more than thirty years, reveals some features of conventional superconductors. We analyze the scaling of the condensation energy <span>({{E}_{Delta }})</span> divided by <span>(gamma )</span>, <span>({{E}_{Delta }}{text{/}}gamma simeq N(0)Delta _{1}^{2}{text{/}}gamma )</span>, that equally applicable to both conventional and unconventional high-<i>T</i><sub>c</sub> superconductors. Here, <span>(N(0))</span> is the density of states, <span>({{Delta }_{1}})</span> is the maximum value of the superconducting gap, and <span>(gamma )</span> is the Sommerfeld coefficient. Basing on this observation, we analyze experimental facts that reveal the general scaling properties of both high-<i>T</i><sub>c</sub> and ordinary superconductors, and theoretically explain that the Homes’ law <span>({{rho }_{{s0}}} propto {{T}_{{text{c}}}}sigma ({{T}_{{text{c}}}}))</span> is applicable to the both types of superconductors. Here, <span>(sigma )</span> is the conductivity, <span>(T)</span> is the temperature, <i>T</i><sub>c</sub> is the superconducting transition temperature, <span>({{lambda }_{D}})</span> is the zero-<i>T</i> penetration depth, and <span>({{rho }_{{s0}}})</span> is the superconducting electron density. For the first time, we also explain the reason of violation of the Homes’ law. Petrov","doi":"10.1134/S0021364025606438","DOIUrl":"10.1134/S0021364025606438","url":null,"abstract":"<p>A strongly nonlinear density wave transforming into a shock wave in a three-dimensional complex plasma of a direct current gas discharge has been studied using the scientific instrument Plasmakristall-4 under microgravity conditions. The pressure drop of the plasma–dust structure in the wave dominates over the friction against the neutral gas under the chosen experimental conditions. The velocity of the shock wave and the velocities of individual microparticles have been determined. The velocity and concentration profiles of microparticles in the developing shock wave have been reconstructed. Good agreement between the experimental profiles and the results of molecular dynamics simulations has been obtained. Lowering the symmetry of the laser generation region in such a microcavity was shown to break the degeneracy of the generation thresholds of doubly degenerate states at the <span>(Gamma )</span> point of the Brillouin zone. This results in elliptical polarization of the laser radiation in the far field with a high degree of circular polarization. It has been shown that there is a deep relationship between the distribution of bosons over energy levels and the number of collisions of a random block cipher. It has been shown that the number of collisions is equal to the number of empty levels in the distribution of bosons over levels. All three electric field components are significant for such two-dimensional spatial solitons with the width of only about one wavelength. Since solitons are the “saddle points” of a certain functional, the numerical method used here is a relaxation procedure, where the functional is minimized over stable modes and is maximized over almost all unstable modes. The elastic constants <span>({{c}_{{11}}})</span>, <span>({{c}_{{12}}})</span>, and <span>({{c}_{{44}}})</span> have been estimated as functions of the oxygen content <i>y</i> in the homogeneity region of VO<sub>0.75</sub>–VO<sub>1.25</sub> of disordered cubic vanadium monoxide VO<sub><i>y</i></sub>. The elastic stiffness constants <span>({{c}_{{ij}}})</span> of disordered cubic monoxide VO<sub><i>y</i></sub> decrease with increasing relative oxygen content <i>y</i>. The elastic moduli depend on the crystallographic direction <span>([hkl])</span>. Large changes in the elastic characteristics of VO<sub><i>y</i></sub> depending on the direction <span>([hkl])</span> indicate a strong anisotropy of the elastic properties of disordered cubic vanadium monoxide. It has been shown that the quasistatic terahertz field leads to the appearance of even low- and high-order harmonics, which is due to the violation of the spatial symmetry of the atomic potential in the first case and to the terahertz-induced breaking of the infrared waveform symmetry in the second case. It has been experimentally observed that the terahertz field leads to the simultaneous modulation of the intensity of both even and odd high-order harmonics, while a change in the intensity of low-order harmonics has been observed only for even components. Tverjanovich","doi":"10.1134/S0021364025606633","DOIUrl":"10.1134/S0021364025606633","url":null,"abstract":"<p>An inelastic behavior is observed in the form of diffuse structural transformations with complex logarithmic kinetics in most chalcogenide glasses compressed above pressures of 1–1.5 GPa. The corresponding melts also exhibit a change in the structure of the intermediate- and short-range orders usually in the pressure range from 1 to 10 GPa. At the same time, the glass transition temperature <i>T</i><sub>g</sub> for chalcogenide systems at pressures above 1 GPa has not yet been studied. In this work, the glass transition in the “classical” glass-forming compound As<sub>2</sub>S<sub>3</sub> has been studied for the first time at a high hydrostatic pressure up to 5 GPa, i.e., in the range where diffuse transformations and growth of chemical disorder in glass and in melt are observed. At higher pressures, smooth metallization and chemical disproportion of the melt begins, and glasses are not formed during cooling. The initial slope <i>dT</i><sub>g</sub>/<i>dP</i> of the glass transition line agrees well with the estimate from the Prigogine–Defay thermodynamic relations. The glass transition line has a large curvature, sharply flattens under compression up to a pressure of 3 GPa, and then becomes almost straight. The ratio of the glass transition temperature to the melting point <i>T</i><sub>g</sub>/<i>T</i><sub>m</sub> for As<sub>2</sub>S<sub>3</sub> decreases from 0.8 to 0.6 with increasing pressure to 5 GPa, which indicates a drastic decrease in the tendency to glass formation under compression. An electron beam accelerated in a nitrogen jet is incident on a lead converter where bremsstrahlung initiating a photodisintegration reaction is generated. The time-of-flight method has been applied for the first time to measure the neutron spectrum in the neutron-counting mode using a scintillation detector based on a stilbene crystal. An exponential distribution with a characteristic “temperature” of ~2 MeV and a maximum energy of ~8 MeV is observed in the measured spectrum. In this study, we conduct a comparative analysis of spiral waves using two simplified component models for cardiac tissue: (a) the Panfilov model and (b) the Aliev–Panfilov model, by varying the parameters that govern excitability and recovery in both models. From our numerical studies, we observe states of (i) a periodic spiral, (ii) a quasi-periodic spiral, and (iii) spiral turbulence in both models, depending on the parameters.
