Energy, macronutrient intakes, and their contribution to total energy, and protein food sources by characteristics of subjects were analyzed, which were further compared with the acceptable macronutrient distribution range(AMDR) and the estimated average requirement of protein.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Daily intake levels of energy, protein, fat and carbohydrate of Chinese adults were 1941.15 kcal, 61.56 g, 87.45 g and 222.07 g, respectively. The proportions of subjects with energy contribution from protein, fat and carbohydrate meeting corresponding AMDR were 59.65%, 16.39% and 26.79%, respectively, while the proportions of subjects with optimal protein intake(% energy) were the lowest in subjects aged 65-79 years(20.90%) and ≥80 years(21.04%). Moreover, the proportions of subjects in different groups of macronutrient energy supply ratios were significantly different by age and urban-rural(all P&lt;0.05). Adults at risk of insufficient protein intake accounted for 45.00%, which was significantly affected by age, gender and urban-rural areas(all P&lt;0.05). In particular, proportion of elder adults ≥80 years with insufficient protein intake was the highest(60.30%), that in males was higher than females, and that in adults living in rural was higher than in urban. {"title":"[The protective effect of lycopene on lung oxidative damage induced by atmospheric fine particulate matter exposure in rats].","authors":"Tao Han, Yanhui Yang, Hongzhi Pan","doi":"10.19813/j.cnki.weishengyanjiu.2024.06.024","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.19813/j.cnki.weishengyanjiu.2024.06.024","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To investigate the protective effect of lycopene on lung oxidative damage induced by atmospheric fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5)) in rats.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>Sixty 7-week-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into six groups: normal control group, PM_(2.5) model group, reference control group(vitamin E dose group, 7.5 mg/kg), and three lycopene groups with low-dose(5 mg/kg), medium dose(15 mg/kg) and high dose(30 mg/kg), with 10 rats in each group. Except for the control group, all groups were exposed to PM_(2.5) suspension intratracheally(equivalent to 7.5 mg/kg), poisoning 3 times a week, with an interval of 24 hours between each test. The vitamin E intervention group dissolved the salad oil with vitamin E by daily gavage, while the control group received an equal amounts of physiological saline. From the first day of exposure, lycopene was given daily via gavage for 4 weeks. Lycopene groups received lycopene dissolved in salad oil, while control and model groups received salad oil of the same volume. After 4 weeks, all rats were killed. Lung pathology sections were made and serum and lung tissue were collected and homogenized, centrifuge and collect the supernatant. Using UV visible spectrophotometry to measure levels of glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px), glutataione(GSH), superoxide dismutase(SOD), total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC), malondialdehyde(MDA), glutathione S-transferase(GST), catalase(CAT), hydroxyl radical(OH), nitric oxide(NO). Using enzyme-linked immunosorbent Assays(ELISA) to measure levels of tumor necrosis facto-α(TNF-α), interleukin-6(IL-6), and 8-hydroxy-2-deoxyguanosine(8-OHdG). Lung histopathology was also observed.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Compared to the normal control group, there were significant differences in the content of GSH((9.47±1.37)mg/g vs. (11.10±3.82)mg/g), SOD((9.43±2.41)U/mg vs. (13.82±4.64)U/mg), CAT((5.35±1.88)U/mg vs. (9.54±3.06)U/mg), 8-OHdG((5.52±1.66)μg/g vs. (4.76±1.01)μg/g) in the serum, and GSH((2.19±0.29)mg/g vs. (3.18±0.49)mg/g), SOD((23.98±4.20)U/mg vs. (31.95±5.08)U/mg), CAT((5.85±1.95)U/mg vs. (3.57±1.96)U/mg), GSH-Px((49.15±7.01)mg/g vs. (68.46±11.15)mg/g), OH·((74.02±12.84)U/mg vs. (51.03±14.85)U/mg), TNF-α((5.57±0.72)ng/g vs. (7.83±1.60)ng/g), IL-6((2.68±0.39)μg/g vs. (3.82±1.35)μg/g) in lung tissue homogenates of PM_(2.5) group(P&lt;0.05). These indicated that there were oxidative damage to the body. Those with missing demographic information and disease diagnosis were removed, and a total of 34 982 people were finally included from 2009, 2015, 2018 and 2023 waves. The prevalence trend of hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia and hyperuricemia, as well as the differences in age, gender, urban/rural and regions were described and analyzed. Multiple logistics regression models were fitted to analyze the relations of various chronic metabolic diseases.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>The prevalence of hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia and hyperuricemia among adults in 10 provincial regions increased from 31.71%, 10.86%, 34.96% and 11.39% in 2009 to 43.43%, 16.81%, 39.02% and 14.54% in 2023, respectively. Except for hyperuricemia, the prevalence of other chronic metabolic diseases increased with age. The prevalence of chronic metabolic diseases in males was significantly higher than that in females(P&lt;0.01). Except for hypertension, the incidence of chronic metabolic diseases among urban residents was generally higher than that in rural areas(P&lt;0.01), but the urban-rural difference was gradually decreasing. Regional differences showed different characteristics in each diseases. The prevalence of hypertension and diabetes in the north was higher than that in the south(P&lt;0.01), however, the prevalence of hyperuricemia in the south was higher than that in the north(P&lt;0.01). One primary school was randomly selected from each township, and 45 students aged 10-12 were selected from each primary school. Measure children&apos;s height and weight data, calculate body mass index(BMI). Using the Chinese Joint Raven Test(Rural Edition) for intelligence testing and using the norm to calculate their intelligence quotient(IQ). Based on national standards for children&apos;s nutrition, height development, and intelligence, explore the relationship between children&apos;s nutritional status, height development, and intelligence.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Results: &lt;/strong&gt;The IQ of children with moderate to severe weight loss, mild weight loss, normal, overweight, and obesity were 102.7, 102.8, 103.3, 102.5 and 106.9, respectively. The better the nutritional status of children, the higher their IQ values, and the intelligence of children was statistically significant(H=602.816, P&lt;0.001). The detection rate of intellectual disability in overweight children was 0%, while the detection rate of low, marginal, and extremely excellent intelligence in obese children was 0%. The IQ of children in the growth retardation group and non growth retardation group were 99.5 and 103.3, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant(U=171.000, P&lt;0.05). The intelligence of children with different height development levels is statistically significant(H=55.174, P&lt;0.001), and the average intelligence of children increases with the increase of height levels. The detection rate of low and marginal intelligence among children with upper height was 0%, the detection rate of extremely high intelligence was also 0%, and the detection rate of average and above intelligence was 90.9%. Ordered logistic regression analysis showed that the height level was above average(OR=0.598, 95%CI 0.397-0.899, P&lt;0.05), above average(OR=0.002, 95%CI 0.027 2-0.747, P&lt;0.05), nutritional status was normal(OR=0.633, 95%CI 0.484-0.980, P&lt;0.05), overweight(OR=0.487, 95%CI 0.299-0.795, P&lt;0.05), obesity(OR=0.569, 95%CI 0.358-0.907, P&lt;0.05), and non growth and developmental delay(OR=0.578, 95%CI 0.371-0.901, P&lt;0.05) were all local. CCK-8 method, transwell method, and atomic spectrophotometer method were used to explore the effect of Fe_2O_3 NPs on the activity of Caco-2 cells and the absorption and transport of them through the Caco-2 monolayer cell model. After treating Caco-2 cells with different doses of iron oxide nanoparticles suspension, electron microscopy observation and endocytosis inhibitors(chlorpromazine, methyl-β-cyclodextrin, amiloride) and western blot were performed exploring the absorption mechanism of iron oxide nanoparticles on Caco-2 cells.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>1.5, 1.0 and 0.5 mg/mL were selected as absorption mechanism studies and exposure doses based on cell activity and absorption transport test result. Under electron microscopy, Fe_2O_3 NPs were distributed both inside and outside the cell. Fe_2O_3 NPs presented in the cytoplasm and vesicular like structures within cells. Endocytosis inhibitors chlorpromazine and methyl-β-cyclodextrin treatment for 24 hours showed inhibitory effects on the absorption of Fe_2O_3 NPs in the Caco-2 cell model. {"title":"[Study on drug resistance and molecular typing of food-borne Staphylococcus aureus in Ningxia, 2011-2022].","authors":"Qiong Wei, Mei Shen, Xiang Liu, Lijuan Yang","doi":"10.19813/j.cnki.weishengyanjiu.2024.06.019","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.19813/j.cnki.weishengyanjiu.2024.06.019","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To investigate the molecular typing characteristics, drug resistance status and drug resistance gene carrying of food-borne Staphylococcus aureus in Ningxia.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>Staphylococcus aureus isolated from food safety risk monitoring project in Ningxia in the past ten years were collected, drug resistance was detected using microbroth dilution method, enterotoxins were detected by real-time PCR. The strains were genotyped by pulsed field gel electrophoresis(PFGE) using SmaI endonuclease. Based on bacterial whole genome sequencing(WGS) technology, multilocus sequence typing(MLST)typing and drug resistance gene screening were performed, and the consistency between the prediction result of drug resistance genes and drug resistance phenotypes was analyzed by resfinder database.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Among the 87 strains of Staphylococcus aureus, the detection rate of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) was 10.34%(9/87), and the detection rate of sea-see strains was 70.11%(61/87), among which two strains carried both sec and sed genes. There were 26 band types and 23 ST types from PFGE and MLST, respectively, and the dominant type was obvious. All strains were completely resistant to penicillin except teicoplanin and rifampicin, and the resistance rate to penicillin was 100.00%. The resistance rates to erythromycin and clindamycin were also relatively high, reaching 60.92%(53/87) and 45.98%(40/87). The 21 drug-resistant genes in 9 classes were analyzed, and the drug-resistant genes encoding different antibiotics were carried in different degrees. The phenolic acid compounds were detected by high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. The Kruskal-Wallis H test was used to examine the differences in phenolic acids among different types of fruits. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to examine the differences in phenolic acid content in fruits from the south and north. The Spearman method was used for correlation analysis of compounds in fruits.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>The sum of phenolic acid content in 75 types of fruit ranges from 0.22 to 485.97 mg/kg FW. The median of phenolic acid content, from highest to lowest, is in the order of pome fruits(76.17 mg/kg FW)&gt;citrus(37.86 mg/kg FW)&gt;berry(28.08 mg/kg FW)&gt;tropical fruits(22.56 mg/kg FW)&gt;drupe(20.70 mg/kg FW)&gt;melon(1.62 mg/kg FW). Among various types of fruits, there was no statistical significance in the content of gentisic acid and p-coumaric acid, but certain differences in other components among different types of fruits(P&lt;0.05). There were few differences in phenolic acids in northern and southern fruits, with only three components showing statistical differences: chlorogenic acid, vanillic acid, and protocatechuic acid(P&lt;0.05). There were more and stronger correlations among phenolic acid compounds in pome fruits, followed by citrus and melon fruits. The correlations of phenolic acid compounds in tropical fruits, drupe, and berry fruits were fewer. Among phenolic acid compounds in all fruits, only sinapic acid and ferulic acid had a strong positive correlation(r=0.736, P&lt;0.01).</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>There are certain differences in the content of chlorogenic acid, protocatechuic acid, ferulic acid, gallic acid, vanillic acid, caffeic acid, sinapic acid, salicylic acid, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, and the sum of phenolic acids among the six categories of fruits. {"title":"[Distribution and epidemic trends of chronic multimorbidity among adult residents in 10 provinces (autonomous regions)of China in 2009-2023].","authors":"Fangxu Guan, Yuna He, Chang Su, Yanli Wei, Xiaofan Zhang, Feifei Huang, Yifei Ouyang, Li Li, Jing Bai, Xiaofang Jia, Jiguo Zhang, Wenwen Du, Huijun Wang","doi":"10.19813/j.cnki.weishengyanjiu.2024.06.006","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.19813/j.cnki.weishengyanjiu.2024.06.006","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To describe the prevalence and epidemic trends of several chronic multimorbidy among adult residents in 10 provinces(autonomous regions)of China over the past 14 years, and to analyze their multimorbidity patterns.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>According to the fasting blood physiological and biochemical tests, physical measurements and questionnaires of 17 000 adult residents aged 18 years and above who were surveyed in 4 rounds of follow-up surveys in 2009, 2015, 2018 and 2023, the relevant indicators and disease history information of obesity, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, hyperuricemia, and various chronic diseases were obtained. Descriptive analysis was carried out to identify and compare several common combinations of multimorbidity in the population with 2 or more chronic disease conditions and the changing trends of 4 rounds of surveys.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>35 712 observations from 17 000 adults revealed that the prevalence of multimorbidity in each round rose from 28.3% in 2009 to 38.9% in 2023, an increase of 10.6 percent. The prevalence of multimorbidity in different gender, age groups, and urban/rural populations showed an upward trend, while the prevalence of multimorbidity in urban and rural populations gradually tended to be the same over time. After grouping various patterns of multimorbidity, it was found that the prevalence of multimorbidity increased over the past 14 years. The main multimorbidity pattern in adults was hypertension combined with dyslipidemia and(or) other chronic disease conditions. The elderly multimorbidity pattern was mainly hypertension combined with dyslipidemia, while young and middle-aged people mainly had dyslipidemia combined with obesity or hyperuricemia.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>The chronic disease status of the population is mostly combined. The questionnaire encompassed demographic information, usage patterns of health science popularization WeChat accounts, and factors influencing continued use intentions. After designing the questionnaire on the Wenjuanxing website, teachers or tutors distributed the survey link or QR code to students, who voluntarily completed the questionnaire anonymously. Descriptive analysis was conducted using SPSS 26.0, while structural equation model fitting, path coefficient testing, and mediation effect testing were performed using AMOS 26.0.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Results: &lt;/strong&gt;After excluding invalid questionnaires, a total of 745 valid responses were included. The structural equation model demonstrated good fit(CMIN/DF=4.106, RMSEA=0.065, NFI=0.898, CFI=0.921). Path coefficient analysis revealed positive impacts of health information quality(standardized coefficient 0.54, P&lt;0.001), social value(standardized coefficient 0.177, P&lt;0.001), and perceived entertainment value(standardized coefficient 0.246, P&lt;0.001) on expectation confirmation. Service quality negatively influenced perceived usefulness(standardized coefficient-0.223, P=0.037). Health information quality(standardized coefficient 0.899, P&lt;0.001) and expectation confirmation(standardized coefficient 0.167, P=0.004) positively influenced perceived usefulness, which along with satisfaction(standardized coefficient 0.988, P&lt;0.001) positively influenced continued use intention. The mediation effect analysis revealed that expectation confirmation indirectly affects continued use intentions through satisfaction, with an indirect effect of 0.475(95%CI 0.240-0.800). Health information quality indirectly influences continued use intentions through perceived usefulness and expectation confirmation, with indirect effects of 0.296(95%CI 0.094-0.768) and 0.290(0.085-0.897), respectively. Expectation confirmation also indirectly influences continued use intentions through perceived usefulness, with an indirect effect of 0.049(95%CI 0.004-0.140). Social value indirectly affects continued use intentions through expectation confirmation and perceived usefulness, with an indirect effect of 0.008(95%CI 0.000-0.040), and through expectation confirmation and satisfaction, with an indirect effect of 0.084(95%CI 0.015-0.233). The indirect effect of service quality on continued use intentions through perceived usefulness was-0.080(95%CI-0.138-0.016), which was not significant. Fat extraction was performed on three types of dishes: purely vegetarian, mixed vegetarian and non-vegetarian, and purely non-vegetarian, using acid hydrolysis. The extracted fats from these dishes were then analyzed using gas chromatography to determine the content of 37 different fatty acids, followed by a classification analysis.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>The average contents of saturated fatty acids(SFA), monounsaturated fatty acids(MUFA) and polyunsaturated fatty acids(PUFA) in the sampled home cooking were 2.477, 1.961 and 0.837 mg/g, respectively, of which the average contents of the n-3 PUFA and the n-6 PUFA were 0.175 and 0.648 mg/g, respectively. Vegetarian dish S/M/P was 1∶1.36∶0.39, half meat and half vegetarian dish S/M/P was 1∶2.02∶0.88, and meat dish S/M/P was 1∶0.15∶0.13. Vegetarian vegetable n-6 PUFA/n-3 PUFA was 1.84, half-meat and half vegetarian dish n-6 PUFA/n-3 PUFA was 6.51, and meat dish n-6 PUFA/n-3 PUFA was 3.50.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>In Jiangnan cuisine of Hangzhou, purely vegetarian dishes have a low PUFA content, mixed vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes have a high MUFA content, and purely non-vegetarian dishes have low levels of both MUFA and PUFA.
