Some of the business strategies implemented: (1) keep interacting online with offline because not all targets can access only one channel; (2)cooperate with as many public figures as possible from micro, macro to mega public figures; (3)live broadcasting of talk show sessions through social media or partners because in this way it can reach a wider target; (4) present in every marketing channel, such as television, radio, print media, displaying billboards in the expansion area or even Videotron. Based on data from the sales inventory, new products and products that are rarely promoted through advertising, have lower sales turnover, when compared to products that are often advertised. This research creates an advertisement video for Ms. Glow's new product, Nail Polish. The research method applied is Research and Development, namely making video ads using the Four D model, and analyzing people's behaviour towards Ms. Glow products using a mixed method, namely through a netnography approach. The fact that climatology station has carried out climate information dissemination to farmers in Lombok. However, many farmers experienced harvesting and planting failure due to climatic uncertainty. The objectives of this research are to describe the communication strategy implemented by the Kediri Climatology Station in communicating climate information to farmers on Lombok Island and to identify obstacles experienced in disseminating climate information. This research was conducted at the Kediri Climatology Station and on the island of Lombok using a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis. The results show that the strategies implemented by the Kediri Climatology Station were strategies to increase the station's credibility through the improvement of data collection technique and analysis to minimize uncertainty, compiling and packaging messages so that farmers easily understand them, conducting direct dissemination through climate field school (SLI) and indirect using media, trying to understand the social and economic conditions of the communicants as well as utilization of feedback. Mendoza","doi":"10.31940/soshum.v12i3.300-313","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.31940/soshum.v12i3.300-313","url":null,"abstract":"Trademarks are important for business establishments because they express the origin and quality of the companies, but it is not always easy to know and employ linguistic elements to craft good trademarks. Thus, to see the linguistic characteristics and strength of trademarks, the study has an objective to examine the trademarks of selected buffet restaurants at SM Mall of Asia, in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines. The data were taken from nine buffet restaurants. The analysis was done by referring to Shuy’s (2002) linguistic tools and Butters’ (2010) framework. The findings reveal that the linguistic characteristics mainly used by the buffet restaurants were lexicography, phonetics, morphology, and semantics. In terms of lexicography, most trademarks have their etymological meaning and historical development in the dictionaries, except Charaptor and Yakimix, which are coined words. In phonetics, the trademarks have phonetic characteristics of 1-3 syllables. Then the morphological analysis shows that the trademarks consist of noun phrases, affixation, and word formation (clipping). In semantics, five trademarks do not have synonyms and polysemy; three have synonyms, and two have polysemy. In terms of strength, the trademarks were classified from the weak to the strongest as follows: Buffet 101 (descriptive); Cabalen, La Fiesta, Oceana (suggestive); Four Seasons, Vikings (arbitrary); and Charaptor, GEN, Yakimix (fanciful). In the assessment activity, the teacher can get feedback on the extent to which students understand what the teacher teaches. Even though the learning is done virtually, the assessment still has to be done. This study investigates teachers’ perceptions of the types, benefits, and challenges of platforms used to assess young learners’ speaking performance. The research data was obtained by conducting interviews with respondents through Google Meet and adopted the interview questions by Mpungose (2020) about the online assessment platforms. The researcher determined the respondents by using a purposive sampling technique where respondents used an online platform in assessing young learners’ speaking performance during distance learning. After the data was collected, the researcher analyzed it using an interactive model by Miles et al. (2014). This study indicates that there are various platforms that teachers can use to assess young learners’ speaking performance, including Zoom, Google Meet, Google Classroom, WhatsApp, and YouTube. The five platforms were revealed to be very useful to make it easier for teachers to assess learners’ speaking performance. Teachers can easily assess aspects of their pronunciation, fluency, grammar, and vocabulary through these five platforms. It reflects integrity and responsibility as the main element in character development. Many studies had done to identify variables behind students' dishonesty. Hensley (2013) said male students are likelier to cheat and plagiarise. This study measured further through a perspective questionnaire using a vignette test for vocational education during an online class. The variables were designed based on Maslow's hierarchy of needs with six dependent and five independent variables. The analysis of this study applied chi-square quantitative analysis. At the same time, the data was collected using random sampling from semesters 1,3 and 5 of the Informatics Engineering study program in Politeknik Negeri Jakarta. This study was conducted during COVID -19 Pandemic when all the teaching, learning and assessment processes were conducted online. This study showed that gender and grade did not affect students’ motivation to cheat during online exams. At the same time, the chi-square analysis reflected the same result for both gender and grade analysis. They did not highly influence academic dishonesty in the online test. This study exposed us to varied insights into variables behind academic dishonesty, such as religiosity, lecturer and course and system. The economic slowdown will result in a financial crisis, so the Indonesian government must immediately address the problem. This study will carry out the economic process in Indonesia after the outbreak to achieve financial balance. This study uses a qualitative approach. Data is obtained through secondary data such as social media, mass media, and data issued by the government for analysis using variables and indicators from previous theories. The study was carried out using the triangulation technique and data analysis software, namely, Nvivo 12 Plus data analysis. The data collection will then be reviewed based on the data analysis program and display the results in visible effects of the software. This study uses various variables in economic development, such as infrastructure, natural resources, human resources, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and digitalization. The most essential, significant efforts to increase economic development are held by infrastructure, which accounts for 86% of the total.
