It is a health problem and the main cause of death due to diabetes, hypertension, stroke, etc. The reason is the low level of community fitness due to lack of movement, low activity and wrong eating patterns. This study aims to measure the effect of fitness, BMI and age on the risk of diabetes mellitus in civil servants. The study used a cross-sectional design and was carried out at the Aceh Provincial Health Office in 2021. The sample was a civil servant from the Aceh Provincial Health Office. Ninety-seven people were taken randomly. The characteristic data collection was conducted by interview. It used BMI and anthropometric data obtained from weighing and measuring the height to determine nutritional status. Blood glucose was collected by laboratory examination of Hba1C using A1CNOW Plus 3021 to detect diabetes mellitus. Fitness data was obtained from jogging (1,6 km) using the Rockport method to obtain the VO2 Max value. Data analysis used the Linear Regression test at a significance level of 95%. The results showed that fitness (p=0,039) and BMI (p=0,011) affected the risk of diabetes (p<0,05), while the age factor was not associated with diabetes (p=0,365) in civil servants. The dominant factor that influences the risk of diabetes is BMI (OR= 4,1). In conclusion, fitness and BMI greatly influence the risk of diabetes in civil servants at the Aceh Provincial Health Office, while the age factor has no significant effect.","PeriodicalId":56201,"journal":{"name":"AcTion Aceh Nutrition Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45311238","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the triggers for increased colonization in ASD children is the consumption of carbohydrates. This study aimed to identify Candida species in the faeces of ASD children who diet and nondiet carbohydrates from schools with special needs in Jember, East Java. The research design is a true experimental laboratory. The sample consisted of 26 ASD children and 13 healthy children as controls, with different subjects calculated using the Krejcie and Morgan formula. The test samples were identified for fungi by examining germ tube morphology, chlamydospores, and Candida species and compared with controls. The results showed differences in Candida species in the two test groups. Species C. albicans, C. dubliniensis, and C. tropicalis were found in almost all the faeces of ASD children with noncarbohydrates diet. The species C. parapsilosis, and C. albicans were found in a small proportion of the faeces of ASD children's carbohydrate diet. In contrast, the species found in the control group were C. albicans, C. dubliniensis, C. parapsilosis, and C. glabrata. In conclusion, carbohydrate consumption can affect the Candida species in the faeces of children with ASD.","PeriodicalId":56201,"journal":{"name":"AcTion Aceh Nutrition Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46187151","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The increase in eating behavior results from changes in mental health during the Covid-19 pandemic, especially in students. This study aims to analyze the relationship between stress, depression, and anxiety with emotional eating and mindful eating in college students during the Covid19 pandemic. Many students experience emotional eating and are very emotional eaters. This research was conducted in September-October 2020 on 303 student subjects using the accidental sampling technique. Research data were obtained through questionnaires distributed online. The questionnaire consisted of characteristic data, changes in body weight and eating behavior, a modified DASS-21 questionnaire to measure stress, depression, and anxiety, EEQ (Emotional eating Questionnaire), and MEQ (Mindful eating Questionnaire). The data were processed univariately in frequency and percentage and bivariate analysis with an Ordinal Spearman Correlation with an error rate of 5%. In college students, stress, depression, and anxiety are relatively high, especially at the severe stage. Stress and depression were significantly related to mindful eating (p<0,05) but not to anxiety (p>0,05). The more stressed and depressed students tend to experience non-mindful eating.","PeriodicalId":56201,"journal":{"name":"AcTion Aceh Nutrition Journal","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43851694","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The habit of harmful sleeping patterns, night eating syndrome, and excessive sugar-sweetened-beverage consumption can increase the risk of metabolic syndrome in obese students. This research aimed to analyze the differences between night eating syndrome, sleeping patterns, and consumption habits of sugar-sweetened beverages based on metabolic types in obese students. This research used a case-control design in Semarang in 2020, with 52 subjects aged 19-24 selected by consecutive sampling. The data included body weight using digital scales, height using microtoise, waist size using Medline, blood pressure using tensimeters, and laboratory tests to check triglyceride levels, HDL cholesterol, fasting blood glucose, and insulin. The instruments used were The Night Eating Questioner to assess the night eating syndrome, Pittsburg Sleep Quality to assess sleeping patterns, and the Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire to see the subject’s sugar-sweetened beverage consumption. The Chi-Square test analyzed the data. There was a difference between night eating syndrome (p=0,006) and sleeping pattern (p=0,012) in Metabolically Healthy Obesity (MHO) and Metabolically Unhealthy Obesity (MUO). There was no significant difference between sugar-sweetened beverage consumption in the two subject groups (p=0,714).
