The aim of the paper is to establish the link between the implementation of contemporary financial concepts and profitability of the company, quantified by Net profit, using binary logistic regression. The implementation is investigated by surveying the sample of 65 companies and CFOs (chief financial directors) within the period from 2015 till 2018. Two surveys were conveyed within the above-mentioned period. Analysis of the responses of 65 financial executives was conducted within the period from 2015 to 2018. Analysis of profitability indicators of the companies in the sample, acquired from relevant documents such as Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Notes to the Financial Statements and Annual Business Reports, was conducted within the period from 2015 till 2018. The results confirm that well defined investment policy with implementation of the suitable investment criteria positively influences the business performance of companies in Serbia. However, for successful business performances pure technical knowledge is not enough flexibility and adaptability of managers is gaining the growing importance within changing economic environment.","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71230041","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Oracle is no exception to this strategy. It has acquired DataFox to enhance AI powered capabilities, expand available data sources for its business intelligence software. This paper is an attempt to study various facets of DataFox acquisitions such as deal itself, DataFox capabilities (products/applications, customers, competitors), reasons for Oracle to acquire DataFox, and its impact on existing products and applications of Oracle. In addition, the paper compares the acquisition with the model suggested by Bonzom and Netessine (2016) and concludes it is more for innovation, change in culture, reaching new markets, and having AI platform and less for problem solving by analysing nine propositions.","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71230310","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sample included 517 students from the University of Novi Sad, Serbia. In order to investigate the relationship between academic service quality and behavioural intentions, hierarchical multiple regression analysis (HMRA) was conducted. Results of HMRA have shown that approachability and support of academic staff and support of faculty management have both statistically significant relation to behavioural intentions of students. The findings of this research study suggest that the improvement of the academic service quality might foster students’ behavioural intentions.","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71230075","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Namely, domestic creditors are using traditional credit analysis methods, which are very slow and very expensive, or on the other hand using one of the world most developed models for assessing company's creditworthiness, which are still not adapted to the characteristics and performance of domestic companies. It is emphasized from a professional and practical standpoint, that the models for assessing company's creditworthiness developed for individual market, give significantly better results than other “standardized models“, and this represents the basic assumption of this research. Financial statements of domestic companies, together with their analytical indicators, in best way reflect their characteristics. As such, they are the basis for developing a model for assessing companies’ creditworthiness, which is the main goal of the research. The hypothesis of the paper is “Respecting the characteristics of domestic companies, it is possible to develop a creditworthiness analysis model for the Republic of Serbia, that will be more efficient than generally known models”. The result of the research is a model that can be practically applied, which contributes to increasing efficiency in decision making, and which should represent “condition sine qua non” of each lender in Serbia.","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71230065","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is driven primarily by the clients’ needs, new competitors, regulations, and strategy based on the existing tradition. The aim of the paper is to determine whether there is a link between the money invested in digitalization and the achieved result of the bank through the relevant financial indicators. The results of the research show that the banking offer of alternative distribution channels’ products in the Republic of Serbia (RS) follows world trends and it can be considered developed. Furthermore, the level of investment in digitalization has a direct impact on the achieved result of the banking sector. Moreover, the banking sector generates more revenue than traditional products offered, and investments in digitalization, innovation and IT technology are inevitable if they want to survive on the market, which is, due to global trends, the need of clients and requirement of the regulator. It is certainly an imperative for all banks in RS to continue investing in education of employees and clients, improvement of business processes, and new tools in order to survive on the market and be competitive.","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71230321","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They simultaneously represent opportunities, but also challenges, especially when it comes to the uncertainty of their dynamic development. Since all participants in the tourism and hotel industry compete for an attractive position in the market, IT usage is a must in this process whether it is: internal and external business operations, IT applications for the process of managing business operations and marketing activities or communication with the target groups in a global environment. The aim of the paper is to determine the differences in the degree and method of using IT by the accommodation capacities and tourist agencies (travel agencies and tour operators) in Serbia. In the research conducted in 2017, 209 companies participated, of which 99 were accommodation facilities (hotels, private accommodation, hostels, etc.) and 110 travel agencies and tour operators. Pearson chi square test was used to assess significant differences between groups in terms of nominal data and Mann-Whitney U test for ordinal data. The results showed that Serbian companies use IT in everyday business, but that there are certain differences in the use of different tools and IT capabilities.","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71230110","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The authors of this paper used the quarterly data about the market capitalization and turnover of shares achieved at the Belgrade Stock Exchange, as well as the quarterly data about Serbia’s gross domestic product between 2003 and 2018. During the testing of the long-term variable interconnection the Johansen (1991) co-integration test was used, whereas the Granger causality test was used for the causality analysis. The test results to date primarily show that the development of a capital market is of significance for economic growth, which implies that a liquid stock exchange may serve as a reliable indicator of a long-term growth of economic activity.","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71230148","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
