The regional resources covered by the analysis are presented in the form of infrastructure, investment in new fixed assets and employment levels. For the researching purpose, data envelopment method (DEA) is used as a major component in identifying regions that use their resources effectively. This approach of mathematical programming optimization tends to evaluate the efficiency of the analyzed regional spatial aspects. Moreover, studying regional differences and generally spatial efficiency creates a significant basis for mapping key problems of regional development in Serbia and provides important guidelines for the creation and implementation of regional policies.","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"48 1","pages":"7-20"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71230334","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In connection with that, the paper is aimed at examining the existence and direction of the cause and effect relationship between the credit activity of the banking sector and the overall economic activity in the Republic of Serbia. The quarterly data related to the period from 2003 to 2019 were collected for the purposes of the research. The share of the loans granted to enterprises in the GDP and the share of the loans granted to households in the GDP are used as the indicators of the credit activity in the study, whereas the real GDP growth rate is determined as the indicator of economic growth. Given the fact that the observed time series are of the different order of integration, the analysis is conducted within the VAR model by applying the Toda-Yamamoto procedure of the Granger causality test. The results of the research show a significant unidirectional causal relationship according to Granger, which starts from the direction of banks’ credit activity towards economic growth. The results of the conducted research study can be useful to the makers of the economic policy and the creators of a strategy for the development of the national economy. 1 University of Kragujevac, Faculty of Economics, mgrbic@kg.ac.rs 2 University of Kragujevac, Faculty of Economics, slukovic@kg.ac.rs 38 Industrija, Vol.48, No.2, 2020","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"48 1","pages":"37-53"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71230749","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this paper is to identify which macroeconomic determinants are important to total tax revenue in order to determine which variables are the key generators of tax revenue collection. The subject of this research represents the estimating effects of selected macroeconomic determinants on total tax revenue in European Union countries from 2006 to 2018. Empirical analysis includes three panel regression models where total tax revenue, direct tax revenue and indirect tax revenue are determined as dependent variables. Results of fixed effects model show that 1% increase of GDP enhances total tax revenue for 6.91%. Government expenditure, total investment and population have positive effect on total tax revenue where 1% increase of these determinants raise total tax revenue for 2.38%, 0.001% and 0.57% in these countries. Contrary, inflation, unemployment and gross national savings negatively affect the total tax revenue where their growth by 1% cause lower level of total tax revenue for 3.72%, 0.001% and 1.48%. Likewise, gross domestic product and total investment lead to greater change of direct tax revenue and indirect tax revenue. The purpose of this paper was to research whether and in what way the characteristics of organizations – such as its size, ownership structure, activity, domestic or foreign – influence the organizational culture. Because of continuous and rapid changes and enormous competition, which are features of modern business, the Denison model of organizational culture was chosen because it emphasizes the need for balance between requirements for organizational stability (factors of mission and consistency) and requirements for its adaptability (factors of involvement and adaptability). The survey covered a sample of 1,000 employees and the data was statistically processed using the one-way ANOVA method. The obtained results show the influence of organizational characteristics on its ability to balance the internal and external focus of the organization, its stability, and its ability to change. As a part of the Energy Community, Serbia is obliged to harmonize its energy regulation with the Europan Union. Even though electricity price in Serbia is at the lowest level in Europe, it has a high share in the household consumer basket. However, electricity price does not include the cost of CO2 emissions. The recent adoption of National Emission Reduction Plan implies Serbia's obligation to reduce emissions from large combustion plants by 2028. This commitment will entail significant investments and will influence the further development of the electricity sector. Accession of the Republic of Serbia to the EU and consequent implementation of EU ETS in the period 2023-2028, will have a significant impact on the EPS electricity cost production. At the moment, rough estimates show that this amount goes up to 2.5 eurocents per kWh produced by thermal power plants.","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"48 1","pages":"47-60"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71229891","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Identifying the determinants that affect the export of high value-added products is of particular importance for this group of countries, while analyzing the effects of exchange rate changes is a contribution to the previous researches. In order to comprehensively understand the relationship between the observed variables, a quantile panel regeression was used to estimate the gravity equation. Examining the heterogeneity of the impact of exchange rate changes and other selected trade factors along the export distribution is another contribution of the paper, given that bilateral trade researches are usually based on assessing the average impact. The results indicate that the CESEE countries' export of differentiated products is significantly influenced by exchange rate changes. Exchange rate volatility has a negative impact, which grows at higher levels of export. The heterogeneity of the impact depending on export level was also confirmed for other determinants discussed in the paper.","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"9 1","pages":"7-26"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71230351","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This analysis reveals how effective policy measures can be in reducing unemployment rate. Cointegrated vector autoregressive model is employed for the period 2014-2019. Prior to multivariate dynamic modelling, the validity of hysteresis hypothesis for unemployment rate is assessed. Obtained results show significant negative long-run effect of real wages on unemployment rate, and positive long-run effect of real effective exchange rate appreciation on real wages. At a teledensity of 89.92% (TRAI 2019), it is the second largest telecom market in the world. The policy maker, Department of Telecommunication (DoT) and the regulator, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) have taken several initiatives to ensure affordable services to telecom users. TRAI also drives initiatives to increase the level of awareness about telecom industry among users. To analyse impact of these initiatives by TRAI and DoT, this study presents an objective assessment of user's awareness and their assessment of affordability of telecom services. A structured questionnaire is used to collect data by surveying a sample of 408 telecom users. It was found that half of the respondents were aware of DoT; more than half were aware of the regulator TRAI and Indian governments vision for telecommunications and 85% of survey respondents found telecom services affordable. The level of affordability varied across gender, age group and education levels. Through regression analysis, the study found that awareness about telecom industry influences users' assessment of service affordability. Hence, TRAI and DoT should take actions to increase the level of awareness, which will improve users' perception of affordability and may lead to increased adoption of telecom services. In addition, it is suggested that affordability of female users can be addressed through customized tariff plan and schemes.","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"469 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71230735","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The specific aim is to determine the effects of these global trends on Serbian foreign trade. The proposed hypotheses are 1) Decline in the volume of Serbian foreign trade can be expected to be sharper than global indicators and 2) The reduced volume of trade both in Serbia and globally will tend to continue for many years to come. Using statistical analysis for different types of data, linear regression and case study, the research has confirmed the first hypothesis. The coefficients obtained bz linear regression were applied to the WTO projections for global trade in 2020 and 2021. It was found that the expected decline in Serbia's foreign trade is almost twice the world average. The second hypothesis is proven by the analysis of the economic causes of the main global trends, which have proven to be structural to the greatest extent, hence long-term.","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"48 1","pages":"81-95"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71230423","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Authors conducted panel data of 34 provinces in Indonesia for the period from 2014 to 2019, obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics. The data were analyzed by using the panel data model and Panel Granger Causality. The Panel Granger causality analysis results show that there was one-way causality between the economic growth and the unemployment. It was caused by several influencing factors, such as education level, population, and employment opportunities. Based on the Fixed Effect Model and Panel Granger Causality results, authors conclude that Okun's Law has not been proven for 34 provinces in Indonesia.","PeriodicalId":55740,"journal":{"name":"Industrija","volume":"48 1","pages":"63-80"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71230486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
