This paper consists of three parts: (1) The Liturgy of the Word, (2) Acclamations, and (3) The Ambo. It shows sets of readings for different holidays as well as the gestures and responses of lectors and the faithful. In the liturgy of the word, the Torah was the most important book; the prophets’ texts were of a lesser importance. The homily and the singing of psalms were also crucial elements of the liturgy. The gathered assembly ended with a blessing. Acclamations: Amen and Alleluia have also been adopted into the Christian liturgy. In a synagogue there is an ambo, whose Biblical roots can be found in Neh 8 : 4. These synagogal elements have been adopted into Christianity. Taking into consideration 2 Cor 13–18, some differences between the synagogal liturgy and the Christian liturgy can be noticed. The archetype of the liturgy of the word refers only to the external characteristics of the liturgy. In times of the Old Testament, people addressed only God, whereas in the liturgy of the Church, Christ is also present during the proclamation of the word of God (cf. Vatican Council II, Sacrosanctum Concilium, 7, 33). Therefore, in the Christian liturgy of the Word, man finds the Spirit and life (cf. J 6 : 63).","PeriodicalId":55679,"journal":{"name":"Ruch Biblijny i Liturgiczny","volume":"71 1","pages":"25"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46487178","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to ancient sources, the book was written under Claudius, Nero, Domitian, or Trajan. Among these four traditions, the strongest is that associated with Domitian. The first proponent of this view was Irenaeus. He was quoted by Eusebius, Victorinus, Jerome and several other Church Fathers, because they believed he was a disciple of a disciple of John the Apostle, the author of the Book of Revelation. Consequently, Irenaeus was commonly treated as the best source of information on this subject. This view was dominant among Biblical scholars until to the present day. Evidence for the earlier date under Nero is even older, but not as strong. This view was rejected by majority of Church Fathers. At the present time, only some scholars prefer the Neronic date.","PeriodicalId":55679,"journal":{"name":"Ruch Biblijny i Liturgiczny","volume":"71 1","pages":"37-52"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49209019","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It can also be used in the preaching of the Word of God, as long as it meets the relevant criteria. These are: subordination to the theme of the homily or sermon, compliance with the correct interpretation of Scripture, freshness, relevance, respect showed to the audience, and limited use. Humor can be used in preaching in different ways: in the very address to the recipients or in the parenetic, hortatory, persuasive part of the homily or sermon. Thus we can preach with humor as long as doing so is suitable for the transmission of the word of God.","PeriodicalId":55679,"journal":{"name":"Ruch Biblijny i Liturgiczny","volume":"70 1","pages":"293-308"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46097627","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is such content related to morality in the apostle’s epistles, providing a basis and justification for moral norms. This study deals with elements of Christianology in St. Paul’s Epistle to the Ephesians. The former term “anthropology,” used in St. Paul’s vision of the Christian, has been replaced by the term called “Christianology.” Saint Paul’s material on Christianology is very rich; therefore, this study is limited to the most important aspects of following Jesus Christ based on selected Polish language commentary on St. Paul the Apostle’s Epistle to the Ephesians. This epistle contains specific guidelines on how to follow Christ.","PeriodicalId":55679,"journal":{"name":"Ruch Biblijny i Liturgiczny","volume":"70 1","pages":"341-360"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47663396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Exceptionally talented, he left many wonderful works in various fields: religion, politics, and art. However, he was not free of errors, or even of committing crimes, yet he was capable of rising up from them through penitence and invoking the God of mercy. This is most evident after he had committed adultery with Bathsheba and led her husband Uriah the Hittite to death, as well as after the census. I discuss these cases and also deal with the penitential psalms, which reflect David’s attitude. In the second part, I analyze Mozart’s cantata Davide penitente (KV 469), in which he used the music from the Great Mass in C Minor, K. 427 c-moll to the Italian Psalm Paraphrases of the eighteenth century. I discuss the origins of the piece and of the libretto and comment on it at the musical and verbal level. The cantata is a harmonious synthesis in which the rich music complements the inspired words, reflecting its internal tension and emotions. Listening to this composition, we can more fully experience the contents contained within the Biblical text and delve into David’s dramatic world, which is always illuminated by God’s grace.","PeriodicalId":55679,"journal":{"name":"Ruch Biblijny i Liturgiczny","volume":"70 1","pages":"309"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46841483","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Over the centuries, the Church’s tradition has developed a Bible-based doctrine concerning marriage and the family. The provisions of Church councils and the expression of various popes have specified this teaching. It should also be emphasized that Catholic marriage is a sacrament in which God gives the newlyweds a special grace to pursue their vocation. The purpose of this article is to present the biblical foundations of marriage and the sacrament’s roots in the teachings of the Church.","PeriodicalId":55679,"journal":{"name":"Ruch Biblijny i Liturgiczny","volume":"70 1","pages":"361-376"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46354109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
