Globally, there is nowhere these problems of environmental degradation, socio-political dissonance, lack of sustainable development, poor CSR, and poverty are more visible than in the Niger Delta area of Nigeria which has been described as “the goose that lays” Nigeria’s golden eggs – oil and gas. It is important, therefore, that multinational corporations (MNCs) in Nigeria provide effective service recovery strategies in an attempt to resuscitate stakeholders’ satisfaction, legitimacy, and trust following a service failure, which could be achieved via the prism of CSR. As has been examined by the available literature, CSR can be an effective organizational strategy for service recovery following failure, which could engender sustainable development in the region of the world habitually known for unsustainable organizational practice and strategy. Therefore, the reason for this study is to explicate via extant literature the relationship between CSR, service failure, and recovery strategies for sustainable business in Nigeria. Consequently, this paper has developed a theoretical model premised on extending Visser’s African variant of the CSR model. This study believes that effective organizational management and recovery approach can strengthen relationships amongst MNCs, the communities, and other relevant stakeholders through building relationships, legitimacy, and trust for a sustainable business.","PeriodicalId":55648,"journal":{"name":"Economic Insights Trends and Challenges","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83043409","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a nominal average of the years 2013, 2015, and 2017, both Iran and KSA had the higher nominal pre-tax subsidy averages estimated to $52.11 and $45.54 billion respectively, and also had higher post-tax subsidy averages estimated to $118.55 and $114.81 respectively. Global warming and local air pollution were the most important components after the pre-tax subsidies component in all MENA region countries. The “Congestion” component came after the level of the two environmental components averages in oil-exporting countries, while the “accidents” component in almost all the oil-importing countries came after the level of the two environmental components averages. By products, petroleum products were the main products that benefited from energy prices subsidies in almost all MENA countries. The reform process must take into account the specifics of each country with regard to the details of energy subsidies at its level, as energy subsidies vary from one country to another, whether in terms of its value, the weight of its components, and the subsidy share of each energy products.","PeriodicalId":55648,"journal":{"name":"Economic Insights Trends and Challenges","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91295607","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It increases women empowerment, brings financial solvency, declines poverty rate and gender gap, reduces unemployment rate, and improves living standard and more. The prime goals of the paper are to investigate the impacts of capital formation on three major sectorial (agriculture, industry and service) female employments in six South Asian countries. The panel data set for the six South Asian countries is collected from 1991 to 2018. Fixed effect, random effects model and Hausman test have been employed to conduct the study. To discuss the impacts of capital formation on the three female employment sectors the study is splinted in three models. The econometric outcomes of the first model represent that there is a highly significant strong negative impact of gross capital formation on the agricultural sector. The study identifies that mechanization, structural transformation, declining agricultural land areas through capital formation, and female literacy rate are the key factors for this expected result. On the other side, the empirical results of the second and third models make it clear that gross capital formation has strong and highly significant positive impacts in the industrial and service sectors. Findings of the study confirm that economic growth, improvement of educational level, growth of manufacturing, advertising, marketing, finance, entertainment, telecommunications, media, hospitality sectors, RMG sector, tourism sector, banks, insurance companies, NGOs, trade related services, living standard, and health sector through capital formation are the responsible factors for these desired results in the industrial and service sectors’ female employment.","PeriodicalId":55648,"journal":{"name":"Economic Insights Trends and Challenges","volume":"27 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87100120","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study subjected the annual data between 1990 and 2019 extracted from the World Bank and UNCTAD databases to econometric analysis. It is important to stress that, in the light of the empirical analyses, the study establishes the following findings; the existence of a co-integrating linkage between globalisation and human development was confirmed in BRICS countries. In the same vein, globalization components-FDI inflows as percentage of GDP and trade openness had a positive and significant relationship with human development in BRICS countries. Moreover, both capital formation and internet users had positive and significant relationship with human development. This is strong evidence that that globalization promotes human development in BRICS countries in the long run. As a result of this finding, this study makes the following recommendations for the policymakers in BRICS countries, and by extension other emerging economies that since the economic components of globalization promote human development in these countries, any time the goal of the policymakers is the achievement of human development in the long run, promotion of policies that would facilitate FDI inflows and trade surpluses simultaneously should be of the priorities by these policymakers.","PeriodicalId":55648,"journal":{"name":"Economic Insights Trends and Challenges","volume":"145 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72916043","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using a Bayesian DSGE methodology for a non-linear model, we found that investment-specific technological shock partly explains business cycle fluctuations in Sierra Leone. Moreover, the analysis indicates that technology shock on output, capital, and consumption is more persistent than that of interest rate. The key implication is that technological innovation is crucial for long-term steady-state growth in Sierra Leone. The results also partly confirm the neoclassical growth model prediction – that is, in the long run, productivity growth is driven only by technological progress. The model specified for this research is largely inward-looking, with a minimal role for the Bank of Sierra Leone to influence investment in technology-related investment directly. Despite this limitation and more so given the fact that the DSGE modelling concept is quite a new venture at the BSL, thoughts have been given to enhance the model’s future capabilities to incorporate both the monetary bloc and external blocs to fully assess the impact of technological shock’s transmission in the entire economy in future research.","PeriodicalId":55648,"journal":{"name":"Economic Insights Trends and Challenges","volume":"4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77982475","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The largest financial organisations listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange are DMBs. Financial management practises are intended to enhance banks' efficiency in financial intermediation and profit margins. Sector analysis may be used to determine the financial sector's performance and sustainability. Panel data were analysed in this research. The data for DMBs were analysed using appropriate statistical methods. In light of the conducted study, it can be concluded that financial management practises have an effect on bank performance in Nigeria. The research found that, given the industry's high level of competition and the need to perform financially, there is a need to create a strong and effective financial management strategy that ensures maximum return, increases firm share value, and maximises shareholder return.","PeriodicalId":55648,"journal":{"name":"Economic Insights Trends and Challenges","volume":"4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90588483","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It specifically sheds light on the contexts of Nigeria and Ghana to tease out the challenges and opportunities for small businesses consequent upon a culture of corruption in these countries and associated challenges for small business owners and entrepreneurs as well as microbusiness development. As well-known, in many developing countries with a high level of corruption, there is potentially a high incidence of institutional void, which presents setback and challenges for businesses to thrive. Microbusiness development relies largely on effective institutions to develop, and in situations where institutions are corrupt, these challenges are rather redoubled thus posing a threat to entrepreneurship development. Therefore, these contexts enable us to understand and interrogate the challenges facing microbusiness development, where corrupt microfinance institutions exist, as well as business opportunities if these corrupt institutions were not present. Thus this paper argues that for businesses to thrive enabling and effective institutional mechanisms are crucial, which will facilitate opportunities for microbusiness development.","PeriodicalId":55648,"journal":{"name":"Economic Insights Trends and Challenges","volume":"2 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82099872","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As well-known all organisations including educational institutions are currently bedevilled by the COVID-19 (coronavirus) challenges, which constitute obstacle to effective educational leadership. In rising above these challenges and in contrast with the managerially oriented educational management, this paper argues that effective leadership can engender effective change management as well as aid educational institutions to rise above this quandary, which will ultimately lead to better student outcomes and organisational success. The methodology adopted here is based on secondary sources and consequently this paper conceptually makes some contributions to the field of educational management, leadership and change management, which would guide policymakers, academics, institutions and governments in these uncertain times. The present paper concludes by demonstrating how effective leadership aids our understanding of how to effectively confront the evils of the coronavirus pandemic in the educational context.","PeriodicalId":55648,"journal":{"name":"Economic Insights Trends and Challenges","volume":"4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79915060","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The level of local taxes and fees guides the way the local budget is prepared and outlines the main investment objectives at the community level. The taxpayer has become increasingly interested in what he pays in local taxes and fees because he has realized that this effort on his part must be reflected in the level of well-being of the community in which he lives. This study aims at an analysis of tax mediation in Romania, as a distinct, special, and voluntary procedure between the tax institution and the debtor taxpayer, without the presence of the mediator as a third person, neutral and independent, comparing the institution of tax mediator in Romania with other EU countries presentation of the stages of mediation and its advantages in favor of both parties. The reality proves that there are numerous situations when fiscal administrative acts issued by the local taxes and fees service are the object of appeals before the issuing public authorities and the administrative-fiscal contentious courts. It complicates the activity of both local public authorities and courts, adds time consumption and financial costs, and fiscal mediation proves to be an optimal solution.","PeriodicalId":55648,"journal":{"name":"Economic Insights Trends and Challenges","volume":"100 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81107931","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
