Valdespina-Aguilar , Grupo Cuídate","doi":"10.1016/j.aprim.2025.103421","DOIUrl":"10.1016/j.aprim.2025.103421","url":null,"abstract":"<div><h3>Objective</h3><div>To evaluate the effectiveness in the promotion of physical and mental health of health professionals working in primary care through the use of a mobile application that includes three modules: physical exercise, nutrition and positive emotional health.</div></div><div><h3>Design</h3><div>Quasi-experimental, before-after, non-randomized study that evaluates the effectiveness of the Cuídate section of the SalusOne® mobile application, specifically in the modules of emotional well-being, virtual gym and healthy eating.</div></div><div><h3>Place</h3><div>Bilbao-Basurto and Rioja Alavesa Integrated Health Organizations.</div></div><div><h3>Participants</h3><div>100 primary care professionals, of whom 58 completed the study. The majority were women (93.1%), with a mean age of 45.2 years. Nursing professionals predominated (56.9%).</div></div><div><h3>Interventions</h3><div>Use of the “Cuídate” section of the SalusOne® app, which includes: virtual gym, healthy eating module and emotional well-being module.</div></div><div><h3>Main measurements</h3><div>Baseline and 6-month assessments on physical health, mental health (DASS-21 scale), eating habits and satisfaction with the intervention.</div></div><div><h3>Results</h3><div>Significant improvements were observed in LDL-cholesterol (-4.5<!--> <!-->mg/dL; p<!--> <!-->=<!--> <!-->0.033), HDL-cholesterol (+3.8<!--> <!-->mg/dL; p<!--> <!-->=<!--> <!-->0.004), glycosylated hemoglobin (-0.05%; p<!--> <!-->=<!--> <!-->0.038) and daily fruit consumption (+0.43 pieces; p<<!--> <!-->0.001). The DASS-21 scale showed statistically significant reductions in depression, anxiety and stress. 74.6% expressed high satisfaction and a desire to continue using the tool.</div></div><div><h3>Conclusions</h3><div>Cuídate program could have a positive effect on the physical and emotional health of healthcare professionals. {"title":"Perfil de los estudiantes gallegos consumidores de cannabis","authors":"Susana Fernández-Nocelo , María Isolina Santiago-Pérez , Inés Mato-Naveira , Ana Teijeiro , Mónica Pérez-Ríos","doi":"10.1016/j.aprim.2026.103455","DOIUrl":"10.1016/j.aprim.2026.103455","url":null,"abstract":"<div><h3>Objective</h3><div>The objective of this study is to identify the profiles of Galician <em>cannabis</em> users between the ages of 14 and 18.</div></div><div><h3>Design</h3><div>Information from the Survey on Drug Use in Secondary Education in Spain on <em>cannabis</em> use in the last 30 days and its relationship with sociodemographic variables, variables related to family relationships, academic performance, leisure and concurrent use of other drugs was analyzed.</div></div><div><h3>Site</h3><div>Galicia.</div></div><div><h3>Participants</h3><div>Students aged 14-18 years old residing in Galicia.</div></div><div><h3>Interventions</h3><div>None.</div></div><div><h3>Main measurements</h3><div>Prevalence and Odds Ratios (OR) were estimated using logistic regression models.</div></div><div><h3>Results</h3><div>The prevalence of <em>cannabis</em> use in the past 30 days was 18.6%, with higher <em>Odds</em> of use among men (OR 1.3; 95% <span>C</span>I 0.9-1.9) and those were born outside of Spain (OR 2.1; 95% CI 1.1-3.9). Parental permissiveness toward their children's substance use, primarily <em>cannabis</em> (OR 3.2; 95% CI 1.3-8.0); low grades (OR 2.6; 95% CI 1.5-4.8); daily tobacco use (OR 9.6; 95% CI 5.4-17.1); getting involved in risky situations (OR 3.1; 95% CI 1.8-5.4) and finding it easy to get illegal substances (OR 2.4; 95% CI 1.5-3.7) increase the <em>Odds</em> of <em>cannabis</em> use.</div></div><div><h3>Conclusions</h3><div>The prevalence of <em>cannabis</em> use among Galician youth is associated with their sociodemographic characteristics, family relationships, academic performance and accessibility to <em>cannabis</em>.
