When considering the economic and environmental aspects, there is a considerable academic interest among researchers in the transesterification of non-edible oils to yield valuable Biodiesel, as compared to biodiesel production from edible oils. Prosopis juliflora oil was extracted using the solvent extraction technique. By using a two-step acid esterification method, the FFA acid value was reduced less than 1%. The acid value underwent a two-step reduction, initially decreasing from 44 KOH/gm to 8.6 mg KOH/gm, and subsequently reaching 2.7 mg KOH/gm. The implementation of the above procedure can effectively mitigate significant problems in diesel engines when using high viscous non-edible oils. The primary objectives of this research were to maximize the biodiesel output and simultaneously minimize the acid value. Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was employed in the current investigation to optimize different parameters. D-optimal design technique in Response Surface Methodology (RSM), was used for analyzing the methanol/oil volume ratio (factor A), reaction temperature (factor B), and reaction time (factor C) as process variables. The focus of the analysis was on the percentage of acid value (Y).
","PeriodicalId":55087,"journal":{"name":"Global Nest Journal","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135059304","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Remote sensing, satellite imagery, global positioning system, and geographic information system (GIS) are widely employed for flood identification to examine flood-related losses. Recently, accurate and automated flood detection models using remote sensing images have become effective for flood disaster management, risk manager, infrastructure planning, disaster rescue management, etc. Computer vision and deep learning (DL) models provide prompt and rapid flood detection in remote sensing images. In this aspect, this paper presents a multiverse optimization with a deep transfer learning-enabled flood detection (MVODTL-FD) technique for disaster risk management. In the proposed MVODTL-FD technique, remote sensing images are investigated for the effectual detection of floods. To accomplish this, the presented MVODTL-FD technique applies a guided normal filter (GNF) based image preprocessing approach to eliminate the noise. In addition, the proposed MVODTL-FD technique uses a deep convolutional neural network-based Squeeze Net model for feature extraction, and the hyperparameter process is performed using the MVO algorithm. At last, the flood detection process is performed using support vector machine (SVM) classification. For establishing the improved version of the MVODTL-FD method, a wide-ranging experimental analysis is performed. The MVODTL-FD model is rated higher in the comparative analysis than other DL models.
","PeriodicalId":55087,"journal":{"name":"Global Nest Journal","volume":"96 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135059289","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using microalgae and activated sludge as raw materials, a C-MFCs was established, and the effects of different nitrogen and phosphorus ratios in the influent on the electrochemical performance of C-MFCs and the removal effect of NH3-N, COD and TP were investigated. The results show that when N:P=3:1 and the external resistance is 1000 Ω, the removal rates of NH3-N, COD and TP are 72.48±1.94%, 81.26±4.4% and 65.62%±2.14%, respectively, and the highest chlorophyll a content is 108.82 mg/L. The maximum voltage and maximum power 92.94 mV and 234.01 mW/m2. The microbial community structure in the anode chamber was analyzed and the results are as follows: At N:P=3:1, the dominant bacteria at the genus level in the anode chamber were Klebsiella (32.12%) and Prevotella (14.45%). The number of OTUs in the anode chamber changes under different N:P conditions. It can be concluded that N:P affects the power generation capacity of C-MFCs and the removal of NH3-N, COD and TP. Clean and Sound air is the key to a good and healthy life. But nowadays in city life it has become the most threatening factor. Pollution of air has become the most concerning and affected issue now for us. As time goes, people are finding it very difficult to cope with the growing levels of air pollution. This proposed model aims to present a smart air pollution monitoring system that calculates and predicts the air quality in real time in the environment. The proposed system measures the concentration of air pollution causing gases in the environment using sensors. The acquired data is processed using Raspberry Pi and the collected information is stored in Firebase. With the help of the training data set, the air quality in forthcoming days can be predicted using the android application and a notification feature is included to indicate very severe pollution levels. The forecasting is done using the machine learning algorithms such as Linear Regression and Random Forest Regression with accuracy of 96.52% and 99.2% respectively.
","PeriodicalId":55087,"journal":{"name":"Global Nest Journal","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135368703","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, rabbits were divided into three groups: parental, first-generation and second-generation. Each group was divided into two sub-groups i.e. control group and the treatment group. Rabbits on the control group were fed with conventional maize (non-GM), whereas rabbits which are in the treatment groups were fed with GM maize. Six females and six male New Zealand rabbits were used per group. At the end of the experimental period, tissue samples were taken and organ weights, MDA and GSH levels were determined. Overall, as the generations progressed, a statistically significant increase in liver weights and a decrease in kidney weights were observed. There was no statistically significant change as regards MDA and GSH levels of liver and kidney tissues of groups without GM maize inclusion in the diet. However, in all three-generation of GM maize treated groups, there was a significant decrease in GSH levels and a significant increase in MDA levels were observed.","PeriodicalId":55087,"journal":{"name":"Global Nest Journal","volume":"20 1","pages":"173-176"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69259752","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the dimethylamine (DMA) solution was used as the absorbent in a α-Al2O3 hollow fiber membrane contactor that is operated under several conditions of gas velocity, liquid velocity, and 290 K operating temperature. The effects of gas and liquid phase properties and module configuration on SO2 absorption efficiency in the hollow fiber membrane contactor were investigated. Simulation results showed that the changes of gas phase velocity, liquid phase velocity, and concentration have great influences on the absorption efficiency of SO2. An increase of the gas flow rate decreases the SO2 absorption efficiency, while an increase of the liquid flow rate has the opposite effect, increasing the efficiency. Because gas in the membrane module stays for a longer time, more absorption time promotes the gas and liquid reaction. However, the changes of the volume fraction of SO2 in the mixed gas are not significant to SO2 absorption. The simulation model could provide guidelines for selecting suitable fluid properties during the SO2 absorption process in a hollow fiber membrane contactor.","PeriodicalId":55087,"journal":{"name":"Global Nest Journal","volume":"19 1","pages":"716-725"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43708168","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, the effects of pH and initial Mo(VI) concentration on the Mo removal efficiency via shell and bentonite were studied. Results showed that Mo removal effectiveness increased as pH increased until 3.5. Removal efficiency of Mo via bentonite and shell also increased as initial Mo(VI) concentration increased to 30 or 40 mg/L, respectively, after which the removal efficiency decreased. Response surface methodology and central composite design were applied to optimize removal effectiveness. Initial concentration of Mo(VI) (mg/L), pH, and shaking time (min) were selected as independent factors. These results showed that bentonite is more effective in removing Mo from water than the shell. At the optimum condition of 5.8 pH, initial Mo concentration of 39.2 mg/L, and shaking time of 38.6 min, bentonite could remove 81.3% of Mo.","PeriodicalId":55087,"journal":{"name":"Global Nest Journal","volume":"19 1","pages":"232-240"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43829633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One source of ethanol is corn, which is abundant in many countries. In producing ethanol from corn, an assessment of the environmental impact of the process is needed. This study intends to provide insight into benzene emitted from a proposed biofuel plant, its dispersion behavior, and the effects it may have on the immediate environment. Threeseason (January, April, and June) dispersion results of benzene emissions from the proposed ethanol-producing facility are evaluated by using the CALPUFF modelling system. Within the framework of the CALPro software, ambient benzene concentrations are modelled over a 24hour period of exposure by considering the impact of pollutant transformation and removal, and meteorological factors such as wind direction and speed, and temperature. Simulations are performed for the plant area located in Farewell, Oshawa, Ontario, based on the emission and meteorological dataset for the year 2013. The modeling domain covers the area of 30 × 30 km with the grid spacing of 150 m. The number of grid lines is taken as 200 for each axis, and the dispersion of benzene emissions is simulated in nine vertical layers of the domain of study. Based on simulated one-hour and 24-hour average benzene concentrations, pollution dispersion results show that the maximum concentrations are recorded as 4.585 and 0.403 μg/m at 17h00 LST on hourly basis and on 24hour basis, respectively, for the winter season. For the spring season, the highest concentrations are measured as 1.345 and 0.136 μg/m at 21h00 LST for one-hour and 24hour periods, respectively. For the summer season, the peak benzene concentrations are found to be 1.085 and 0.277 μg/m at 01h00 LST. The results indicate that none of the months exceeds the half-hour limit of 7 μg/m set by Ontario Regulation 419/05, but they surpass the Ontario Regulation 419 Schedule 3 limit of 0.01 μg/m for a 24-hour dispersion period. This information may prove invaluable to further research on the impacts of the ethanolproduction process on the environment.","PeriodicalId":55087,"journal":{"name":"Global Nest Journal","volume":"19 1","pages":"257-268"},"PeriodicalIF":1.1,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49302100","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The findings illustrated that the pH value of the solution, initial concentration of persulfate anion, the amount of input voltage and iron dosage were entirely effective in SDBS removal. Nearly 100% of SDBS was removed under the optimum conditions: pH 3, voltage 10 V, anion persulfate concentration 25 mM l, iron ion dosage 0.25 g l and reaction time 25 min.
