The analyses were performed by area of knowledge, making it possible to identify differences between them. A total of 11,955 articles published in the journals of the Journal Portal of the Federal University of Goiás were analyzed. The main results were the high coverage of 95.7 and 96.7% found for the altmetric indicators of article downloads and accesses to the abstract, followed by 53.6% for Mendeley readers. The Pearson correlations between altmetric indicators and citation indicators vary from weak to moderate, the strongest correlations being those between the altmetric indicator of accesses to abstracts and the Google Scholar citations indicator (r = 0.475), and between Mendeley readers and Google Scholar citations (r = 0.467). Correlations between tweets and other altmetric indicators are always negative and very weak. The coverage of altmetric indicators varies among the areas, the highest values being found among Life Sciences. We concluded that the use of altmetric indicators, especially of Mendeley readers, can be considered complementary to bibliometric indicators.","PeriodicalId":54165,"journal":{"name":"Serials Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2022-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47711387","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using topic modeling, this paper investigated the thematic relationship between patents and their cited articles in the field of Nanotechnology. For this purpose, patents in the field of nanotechnology (IPC Class: B82) were obtained from the United States Patent and Trademark Office from 1985 to 2019. Then, NPL references listed in “Other References” section of the patents was extracted and abstract of the NPL references was retrieved from Scopus database. R software, topic modeling, and Latent Dirichlet Allocation algorithm were used to analyze the data. Results showed that most of the subclasses in Nanotechnology use few NPL references and are more dependent on patents. In total, NPL references account for only 36% of patent citations. The topics of the NPL references in this field (nanotechnology) belonged to six categories: Physics, Electricity, Chemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Medicine, and Nanotechnology. Consequently, it seems that nanotechnology patents are more technology-driven, and a medium to low relationship exists between science and nanotechnology. The topic modeling of NPL references uncovered that nanotechnology patents have been more influenced by non-nano scientific.","PeriodicalId":54165,"journal":{"name":"Serials Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2022-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42376494","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analysis indicates that this journal has seen a remarkable evolution in the annual number of documents published and their impact. It published 1,018 publications during the period under study, which attracted 35,245 citations (34.62 times per document). A science mapping analysis of the intellectual structure of this journal developed using VOSviewer software shows that it is well connected with top-tier sources focusing on the environmental sustainability field. The collaborative publications have grown relatively faster, where 2,780 authors from 86 countries have published. Spain, Italy, and China are leading contributors to this journal. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the share of publications from developing countries such as China, Pakistan, and Malaysia has been increased substantially. The analysis of bursting keywords identified by applying CiteSpace software indicates that corporate governance, environmental policy, and firm performance have become significant research foci.","PeriodicalId":54165,"journal":{"name":"Serials Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2022-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42594669","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study investigates the leading trends in the intellectual structure of the Journal of Management (JOM) during the 1975–2019 timeframe. It analyses the most frequent authors, institutions, countries, citation performance, and emerging themes of JOM. In so doing, this article maps co-citation, co-authorship, and co-occurrence networks by employing VOSviewer software. The findings indicate that trends in the number of publications and several indicators of the impact of research published in JOM are encouraging. The results show a surge in the dispersal of the authors across the world, especially from the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Canada, and Australia. Likewise, multi-authored publications have witnessed robust growth. The burst detection analysis performed employing CiteSpace software indicates that the recent contribution of JOM is mainly in strengthening a new perspective in the field of well-being, motivation, abusive supervision, agency theory, and social network.","PeriodicalId":54165,"journal":{"name":"Serials Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2022-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45074378","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has been published since 1970 and is a world reference. The main objective of this work is to develop a bibliometric analysis of the characteristics of JIBS publications from 1970 to 2020. To achieve this aim, a bibliometric performance analysis was carried out in a database with 1,697 articles published during the first 51 years of JIBS. Some of the main bibliometric indicators were extracted from the articles, and the 25 most-cited articles in JIBS were identified. Likewise, for a better analysis, the ATLAS.ti software was used, through which a word cloud and a network of codes were generated. The results of the bibliometric performance analysis indicate that the JIBS has increased its level of citation, as well as the number of articles and that the authors from the United States have published the most in the journal. The largest number of articles are related to the code “cross-border,” which is related to the different activities of the company.","PeriodicalId":54165,"journal":{"name":"Serials Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2022-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41424812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Officially launched in 2007, HistciteTM was a bibliometric analysis and visualization software package developed by Dr. Eugene Garfield and his colleagues in 2001. The upgraded versions, HistciteTM pro 2.0 and 2.1, modified the way to open the software and automatically read the raw data of the Web of Science. Pre-processing methods offered practical solutions for problems of insufficient data via possible applications with various software features. While utilizing the HistCiteTM algorithm, the main-path analysis may serve to highlight the structural backbone used in developing an emerging scientific field through a series of identifiable citation networks. Although HistCiteTM has ceased updating, it remains a promising tool for researchers wishing to perform bibliometric analysis through technical refinement and enhancements.","PeriodicalId":54165,"journal":{"name":"Serials Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2022-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42952396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A citation analysis of 7,234 journal citations identified three ranked lists: number of citations (Cit Rank), number of dissertations citing the journal (Diss Rank), and the average combined rank of citation counts and dissertation counts (CD Rank). Our study identifies 31 journal titles based on Cit Rank and Diss Rank 43 unique titles across the three ranking methods. Analysis of variance between (CD Rank and Cit Rank) is 5.51 and (CD Rank and Diss Rank) is 4.77. The average difference in range between Cit Rank and Diss Rank is 9.4. Correlation between (Cit Rank and Diss Rank) using Kendall tau b is .538 and Spearman rho .734. Correlation between (CD Rank and Cit Rank) demonstrates a stronger correlation using Kendall tau b .796 and Spearman rho .934. Correlation between (CD Rank and Diss Rank) demonstrates a stronger correlation using Kendall tau b .757 and Spearman rho .911. In sum, there is a strong correlation between CD Rank and both Cit Rank and Diss Rank. Finally our study assesses our findings organizing them into the following categories: rural studies, sociology, agriculture, development, natural resources and environment, health, demography and geography, general social sciences. The core journal title list that our research has generated will help librarians better develop and manage their collections in support of rural sociology research. The journal title list also provides an excellent starting point for researchers exploring empirical research in rural sociology.","PeriodicalId":54165,"journal":{"name":"Serials Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2022-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48043301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To accomplish this task, librarians surveyed faculty and instructional staff to generate a list of journals essential to teaching and research. Librarians analyzed the subscription status, access information, and usage statistics of the titles listed on the survey. Their findings reinforced the importance of gathering qualitative data from users to inform collection decisions, and the danger in relying too heavily on usage statistics as a marker of a journal’s value.","PeriodicalId":54165,"journal":{"name":"Serials Review","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2022-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44219030","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
