Часть 2","authors":"Aleksander Kiklewicz","doi":"10.31648/an.7797","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.31648/an.7797","url":null,"abstract":"The author presents the theoretical basis for linguistic research, the subject of which is the interaction of two disciplines: stylistics and pragmatics. In the first part of the article, a brief overview of the history and problem fields of both disciplines is presented, emphasizing the fact that each of these has its own characteristics from a conceptual and ontological point of view. In the second part, stylistics and pragmatics are considered in the general semiotic model as two “dimensions” of linguistic signs. In addition to the three dimensions proposed by C.Morris, i.e. syntactics, semantics and pragmatics, the author introduces stylistics as a relation (according to the principle of correspondence) of signs to their socio-cultural environment, i.e. their practical/instrumental context. The author distinguishes between two directions within the framework of pragmastylistic studies. The indicative aspect consists of the study of the pragmatic characteristics of separate styles, in other words, in the description of the style withthe employment of the conceptual apparatus of pragmalinguistics (such concepts as illocutionary function, speech act, pragmatic strategy, pragmatic implication, pragmatic operator, etc.). Both works are examples of a contemporary variation of the genre \"Volksstück\" with a hybrid tradition in German-language literature and theater dating back to the 18th century. Guro’s novel The Poor Knight and T. Malick’s film Knight of the Cups. The analysis, inspired N. Bierdiayev’s reflections on the “ethics of values” and the concept of “new knighthood”, indicates the dialogical relations between distant texts of culture. The comparative analysis reveals the following: 1. The second part reviews bilingual dictionaries and discusses equivalents for the heorthonym Wniebowzięcie (Assumption) presented in them. In conclusion, translation techniques applicable in the case of ecclesionyms are listed, depending on their main function in the text. An attempt was made to identify factors affecting therobustness of that potential, the ways in which that potential is manifested, and the type ofrelationships between the analyzed phrasemes and moral values. The moral convictions oflanguage users that are embedded in the German language were also analyzed. The studydemonstrated that in colloquial German, morality is portrayed in an intellectual and emotivecontext as the essence of subjective human experience. Linguistic data confirm that moralnorms are perceived by language users as an objective truth that should be respected. Thepotential of phrasemes for passing ethical judgements stems from the relationship betweenphrasemes and their characteristic formal attributes, including their figurative and expressivemeaning. This potential is manifested explicitly or implicitly, and its perlocutionary strength isoften determined by the metaphorical motivation of a given phraseme. The analysis confirmedthat the potential of phrasemes is also influenced by the connotative dimension of the lexicon n specific phrasemes. In the most general and broadest sense, the potential of phrasemes forformulating ethical judgements about human attitudes is conditioned by the anthropocentricinterpretation of reality. The study revealed that phrasemes with a potential for making ethicaljudgements are bound by three types of relationships with morality: they should be regarded asa tool for assessing human attitudes, as a source of knowledge about moral values preferred by language users, and as carriers of moral values that are co-responsible for embedding thesevalues in collective memory.
