For example, religious pluralism is not only seen as a further effort to build interreligious relationships but also it is built on Truth Relativism. The religious pluralism concept also encourages Marianne Moyaert to investigate religious pluralism more deeply, especially referring to the concept of 'Global Theology' which is conceptualized by John Hick. This paper analyzed a number of theologians' annoyance with Global Theology such as: Hick as a 'Problematic Theologian', demythologizing of Jesus, and most importantly, the blurred relationship between Theology and Philosophy. Following Marianne's Argument, it was believed that the relationship among religions should be built on clear boundaries between Theology and Philosophy, where the boundaries were destroyed by Global Theology. Instead of fading the boundaries between the two, the relationship among religions should be carried out based on a religious understanding based on commitment.","PeriodicalId":53367,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Studi Agama dan Masyarakat","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68784829","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the midst of the strong domination of Hindu custom and the acts of violence by few Muslims in Indonesia, the Balinese Muslim community strived to manifest Islamic teachings (fiqh) in daily life having tolerant and moderate. Through two problems such as; how is the religious adaptation pattern of minority Muslim communities in Bali? How do Muslim communities establish inter-religious harmony as a manifestation of their daily fiqh? This study attempted to analyze it based on maqashid sharia theory. As for supporting data collection, this paper used field research using interviews and observations.The finding indicated that there were interesting patterns of religious social relations occurred in the daily practice of Muslim minorities in expressing their Islamic teachings in the public area. In general, the indigenous people of Gorontalo, in the traditional stages before their wedding, only performed the Saronde dance after holding recitation. This was different from Arabian ethnic in Gorontalo. They preferred to read Burdah and Barzanji. The results showed that the reading of Burdah was one of the traditions carried out with a traditional pattern and was upheld by the people of Gorontalo, especially the Arab ethnic group. This was because that the Arabian ethnic people of Gorontalo made Burdah as a tradition that should not be abandoned in every ceremony, especially in wedding ceremonies, circumcision, and the Prophet's birthday. Likewise with other activities, for example when a family was suffering from a disease in the hope that they could get a cure. The educational values in reading Burdah included: first, the cultural value of Burdah tradition was implemented in the form of religious teaching through customary traditions; second, religious values in the tradition of Burdah reading contained religious teachings to strengthen faith and piety; third, the social value of the tradition of Burdah reading was in a form of religious teaching to familiarize each other with maintaining friendship, respecting and remaining united in Islamic brotherhood.","PeriodicalId":53367,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Studi Agama dan Masyarakat","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68784936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research applied descriptive qualitative methods using sociological, historical and heuristic approaches. The results showed that the existence of the Covid-19 pandemic as a disease was real, and not a conspiracy issue. The perceptions, arguments and understanding of some Muslims stating that the Covid-19 pandemic was a conspiracy had the potential effect to cause damage the life order as a state and society. In addition, if this understanding was not directed according to the correct Islamic guidance, it was worried that it would have a negative impact on the brotherhood and unity of Muslims. Some baseless assumptions and arguments regarding this epidemic can be answered, refuted and explained with strong and real arguments and evidence based on the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad, valid narrations, and historical records of Muslims.","PeriodicalId":53367,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Studi Agama dan Masyarakat","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47114244","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In fact, as complex teachings, religions had opposite role, reducing prejudice. This study attempted to find religious values that can be useful for prejudice reduction. With a qualitative method, religious values reducing prejudice were explored from five religions, namely Hinduism, Buddhism, Catholicism, Christianity and Islam. Data were collected through studying religious texts, both from the main sources and the works of religious leaders. The finding found that all religions had fundamental values that could reduce prejudice. These values generally were in the form of respect for diversity, prohibition of acting unfairly, and prohibiting acts of violence. This finding was expected to refute the assumption that religion was a source of prejudice, hatred and horizontal conflict.","PeriodicalId":53367,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Studi Agama dan Masyarakat","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68784482","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study tried to compare the study that the author conducted seven years before, with wider object and focus of research. The study used a sociological and anthropological approach. The findings revealed that there was a shift in alms seeker behavior mode. First, the letter or proposal model has not been used anymore, although sporadically some still use this model. Second, the model of selling calendars was a model widely used, since it was more elegant. There were products sold like businesses, and minimize the prejudice of fraud as already existed. The model of selling calendars was actually the use of new packages of old content, namely exploiting religion for economic purposes. The implication was that the community did not need to hesitate if they did not want to give / to buy alms to the citizens.","PeriodicalId":53367,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Studi Agama dan Masyarakat","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46165214","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, this did not apply to minorities because of the possibility of religious discrimination. This study intended to determine the influence of religiosity and spiritual activities on the security perceptions of religious adherents in Indonesia, namely Islam, Protestantism, Catholicism, Hinduism and Buddhism using secondary data obtained from the Indonesian Family Life Survey of 32,466 individuals. The finding revealed that religiosity had a positive and significant effect on the sense of security of all adherents except Buddhist followers. Meanwhile, spiritual activities had a positive effect on security of adherents of Islam and Hinduism. In contrast, it negatively influenced Protestant, Catholic and Buddhist followers, since terrorism and discrimination against the worship places were frequently occured. Therefore, it was concluded that religiosity had a positive effect on security of the followers of the majority religions; however, it negatively affected to the followers of minority religion. It meant that being the followers of religion majority was still dangerous for the followers of religion minority. This evidenced that there were still lack of religious tolerance in Indonesia .","PeriodicalId":53367,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Studi Agama dan Masyarakat","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41361759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
