The objective is to explore the correlations between proactive personality, ambition, career self-management, mentorship relationships, commitment, and career orientations. The research uses a sample of 275 participants involved in managerial roles in different corporate houses. The study adopted descriptive and causal-comparative approaches. The major findings reveal significant positive correlations between these factors and career orientations. Regression analysis underscores the substantial predictive role of ambition (β = 0.302), career self-management (β = 0.302), and commitment (β = 0.370), indicating their significant impacts on career orientations. These insights contribute to a deeper understanding of the interplay of individual attributes and external factors in shaping career trajectories. Future research could expand geographically and adopt longitudinal perspectives to enrich these findings and recommendations for enhancing career development practices.","PeriodicalId":53295,"journal":{"name":"Management Dynamics in the Knowledge Economy","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136210097","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The role of the employee union, which could be a consequence of organizational culture, determines the degree of an organization’s success. This study aims to explore the employee unions’ influence on the different cultural orientations of the organization. The study is based on survey data from 23 sample organizations’ 479 respondents. This study employed a mixed approach: a qualitative approach for understanding the fundamentals of employee unions and their influence in the Nepalese context and a quantitative approach for estimating unions’ influence. OCAI to determine the cultural orientation of sample organizations. A survey questionnaire was distributed to the employees, management leaders, and union leaders as respondents to estimate the influence of employee unions. Word clouds, OCAI charts, and descriptive statistics were used to conclude the study. Findings revealed unions’ influence on organizations in different functions like recruitment and selection, training and development, compensation, and the working environment. Union influence is found to be more active and influential in hierarchy culture than in market culture. This study contributes to the Power Resource Approach and Social Exchange Theory. It encourages the organizations’ leaders to orient their culture toward market culture to foster a fair, transparent, and competitive work environment and lessen the adverse influence of employee unions.","PeriodicalId":53295,"journal":{"name":"Management Dynamics in the Knowledge Economy","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136210105","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Central to that is to understand the association between teachers as a leader and learners as a leader. The paper demonstrates that within HE leadership and engagement in the classroom positively influences the behaviour of the learners. Positive classroom behavior leads to improving learner participation. The focus is on facilitating HE learners’ responsible behavior for them to utilise their maximum potential. This research study has considered the experiences of students of Higher Education in a UK private institution only. Therefore, the findings and results may, or may not be, the same for students studying beyond HE, or for those studying in public sector Universities, or those studying outside of the UK. This paper makes two different contributions. Firstly, it contributes to the literature on the methods for improving learners’ educational motivation in general. Secondly, it strengthens understanding of the combined responsibility of teacher leaders and students as leaders in providing educational motivation for students to take responsibility for their education and achieve better outcomes and promote continuous learning.","PeriodicalId":53295,"journal":{"name":"Management Dynamics in the Knowledge Economy","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139346483","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research presented adoption of risk management practices within a UK higher education (HE) setting that demonstrates the evolution of processes towards enterprise-wide educational governance in support of a sustainable HE sector. Effectively managing enterprise wide risk ensures sustainability is on the governance agenda. Within this research paper a wide spectrum of risk management practices and theories is assessed and a case study review shows a mature adoption, over time, of a holistic approach to managing risk. This research paper therefore, provides valuable lessons learned and gives practical guidance for policy makers, governors and senior management in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The case study organisation provides a best practice view of enterprise-wide risk management system taking guidance from global standards, national regulatory bodies, universities, colleges and experts in risk management from all levels. The main gap in current published knowledge presented is that the drivers for successfully implementing sustainable risk management in the HE sector are not known. The research questions have led the inquiry to provide three contributions to a better understanding of adopting Enterprise-Wide Risk Management in HE with a new roadmap for implementation; thematic direction for governance; and six drivers for successfully implementing sustainable risk strategies.","PeriodicalId":53295,"journal":{"name":"Management Dynamics in the Knowledge Economy","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139346550","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Consequently, the purpose of this research is to provide an overview regarding the connections between four main constructs, respectively innovation management, competitive advantage, agility and organizational performance, through performing a bibliometric analysis by using the VOSviewer visualization tool. The information has been selected from the Web of Science Core Collection database (WoS) during February 2023. This preliminary study aims to grant relevance to the potential research areas prone to be exploited when discussing the matter of innovation management in relation to organizational performance, competitive advantage achievement and agility. The main premise is that every company has its particularities and acts accordingly to stay competitive through innovating its business model and through an articulate innovation management, also encompassing agility, with a view to reach organizational performance and strong competitive advantage. In terms of findings, the bibliometric analysis conducted confirms the existence of compelling relationships between constructs, thus supporting further scrutiny in this direction.","PeriodicalId":53295,"journal":{"name":"Management Dynamics in the Knowledge Economy","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139346559","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By analysing prominent publications, we seek to describe coherent strategies with an expected impact. Our objectives encompass exploring trends from both theoretical perspectives, such as predictions by scientists, and empirical perspectives, including figures derived from studies. We outline several secondary objectives that guide our step-by-step approach. Firstly, we identify defining elements of a sustainable business environment based on insights from specialized literature. Secondly, we categorize ecosystems into different types, such as economic, digital, ecological, and entrepreneurial, providing further elaboration later in the paper. Thirdly, we present an updated understanding of the dynamic evolution of ecosystems and their components. This includes examining the influence of digital advancements and digitalization on the business environment, as well as the opportunities and threats they generate. Of particular importance is the role of universities as a significant landmark within the business ecosystem. We discuss the university's involvement in technological and informational transfer to ensure sustainability, focusing on the levers through which universities consolidate and stimulate the business ecosystem. To achieve our objectives, we employ bibliometric analysis, utilizing the VOSviewer software, which offers valuable insights for constructing diagnostic schemes and development models tailored to specific business environment challenges. The research methodology relies on the VOSviewer software for processing academic publication databases. To align with the theme and purpose of this study, we selected the SCOPUS database for its implicit certification of superior academic quality in the publications it contains.","PeriodicalId":53295,"journal":{"name":"Management Dynamics in the Knowledge Economy","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139345169","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study employs Bridges’ Transition Model to examine the internal obstacles and adaptive measures that emerge during the transitional phase, with a specific emphasis on the psychological dimensions of the transitions. The study utilised a qualitative research methodology and grounded theory approach that involved conducting in-depth interviews and analysing relevant documents to investigate the experiences of leaders and managers in the context of organisational transitions. The results of the study offer significant contributions to the field of organisational management, particularly in the area of leadership succession planning. The findings shed light on effective strategies for managing leadership transitions, promoting smoother transitions, and providing adequate support to individuals in leadership positions during periods of organisational change.","PeriodicalId":53295,"journal":{"name":"Management Dynamics in the Knowledge Economy","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139346742","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since most Higher Education Institutes are now monitored on their graduate outcomes, it is important that they are inclusive within planning curriculum design so as to give their students better chances and outcomes at completing their studies and being competitive in the global jobs market. The UK law and legislation worldwide is stepping up to value inclusion and now moving away from passive social exclusion. The research used ethnographical research in order to find out if equality, diversity and inclusion is being effectively implemented in curricula design. The results are based on one organisation in the Northwest of England using data collected over a 4-year period. A mixed method research design was also devised to use in-depth unstructured interviews to tutors of HND and degree programmes regarding curriculum design on their programmes. The findings show that there has been significant changes based on social and political influences, such that leaders are therefore working within standardised frameworks as a result of legislation. The primary research confirms that leaders have more understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion and it has the potential to self-sustain the UK higher education system.","PeriodicalId":53295,"journal":{"name":"Management Dynamics in the Knowledge Economy","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139345894","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
